You look at the body of work, so yes it's perfectly reasonable for Florida (or any team) to leapfrog Michigan. If this weren't possible at all, you'd have an advantage for playing your games earlier in the season and not having a championship game. This whole "how can Michigan go down if they didn't play" sentiment is stupid. Other teams have a right to play out their schedule, and then you compare resumes. Michigan already played OSU, and lost. And their resume certainly isn't better than Florida's.

If it's a rematch and Michigan wins, there should not be a split NC. They'll have 40 days to think about how this is THE title game, and the regular season shouldn't matter. All the regular season does is put the 2 best teams in the championship game (presumably). Game should be for all the marbles.

Ignoring the sexiness difference between the two teams, Florida clearly has the resume to get in. Ran through the best conference in the country with one loss, beat 9 bowl teams. It's not like anyone has to stretch just so they don't see a rematch, Florida has every right to play in the NC. I believe if ya throw the two resumes down without names at the top, basing it off of wins, losses, who you played, who you beat, etc, you'll come out with Florida as the pick.

BTW, i can't stand when people b**** about the BCS and talk about how the computers are 'stupid' and all that garbage. Only 1/3 of the formula is computers, and the mich/fla rankings in those will be a wash basically. 2/3 is humans. Ultimately, they'll decide who plays OSU. If you don't like the BCS, at least put the blame where it should be, and that's with the humans. There's too many ignorant people running around talking about how college football is decided by computers, and that's just wrong.

Just want to throw this out there: I'd only be in favor of a 4 team playoff if a playoff ever arises in the future. Any more and college football will lose all its excitement. So here's your matchups for the 4 team playoff: Michigan vs Florida OSU vs ?????????????? I realize trying to decide the #4 team isn't as quite as important as deciding the #2 team, but my point is that every year you'd more than likely have some problems/debates. Whether the system is perfect or not (well it's not perfect), one thing is for sure: from week to week, college football is exciting as all hell. You never know what's going to happen, and losses are huge. I mean, if there was an 8 or 16 team playoff, that UCLA win would have meant relatively nothing. USC's in the playoffs anyway. How cool was it to watch that upset today? I don't know what the solution is, but at least the sport is compelling.
