ACC Tournament Predictions

UNC trails Clemson 43-40 at half -
Depaul loses to UAB 59-56 on a 3 with .8 seconds left That was probably a charge on the last play, unless you're a UAB fan. And by probably, i mean it was a brutal charge.

Keith, only thing i'm scared of is not getting the palindrome going again (84-48). We'll see what we can do.

Once is an accident, twice is a trend, three times is a pattern. See ya Maryland -
You can't even call BC overrated anymore, no one thinks they are that good anyway.

We play NW tomorrow, who hung on to beat Mich

Only thing i have to add to this thread is that i almost can't talk baseball with people not at my knowledge level. Probly why i'm here so often. If you don't know you're s***, i just can't talk sports with you. It does nothing for me.

Last year he challenged Jose Guillen with Konerko as i was holding up the "stop sign", that was brutal. It's like come on, know the arms in the outfield.

I don't really know how near death this is, but probly the closest i have come and it scared the s*** out of me for days. I was coming back on the highway from Michigan to U of I, on 80/94 i believe, and as i was merging a jeep wrangler in the far left lane decided that he was going to merge back into the middle lane for some unknown reason. When i checked my mirror no one was in the lane, so i started to merge at like 55mph or so. All of the sudden after a second or two i hear a horn so i swerve back to the right, and the wrangler goes flying past me at what had to be 90mph, at least. He was f***ing flying, blew by me like i wasn't moving. Well, right as he got by, he lost control and jammed into the median and flipped his car 4 or 5 times. So there i was watching this car flip in the middle of the highway not that far in front of me. It was the scariest thing i've ever seen in my life. All i know is, he could have rear ended me, and who knows how that would have turned out.

Not making excuses, but this probably was a factor. From Tupper's Blog:

I have some friends that offered, including a group of 4 girls that live in an apt, i wouldn't be surprised if they won. -
LOL Also, i'm not talking about the "cubs scalpers" that work right by the EL, i'm talking more random people that may or may not be there every day. Maybe not as identifiable. What i said works in most cases.

Played a few times, maybe 5-6 times, got .177 as my fastest, my best average was .211 One time the first color change didn't happen for what had to be 10-12 seconds, it was unbelievable. Terrible reaction time to that one. I only had one penalty, i didn't really anticipate, just tried to react.

I'm glad to hear that the new RPI isn't a strong factor this year, and that the committee will be bringing the old RPI numbers to the meeting this year. I couldn't agree more with your post. There are just too many damn small conferences, with too many s***ty teams getting in because of it (my definition of s***ty is that those teams are getting in over bubble teams that are better than them). Because of the automatic bids, there are so few bubble spots left, and those need to go to bcs conference teams. Sure, storylines are nice...but in reality we should just want to see the best 64 teams, regardless of conference, battle it out to see who's #1. The only reason any of these smaller conference teams get any pub is because they are possible cinderellas year in and year out - which doesn't even mean final fours, it means 2 victories at best, usually. Big friggin deal. Like Fotop says, prove yourself for a few years, then come talk to the big boys about getting into the tournament without automatic bids because of who you've played out of conference.

I don't know what you saw in HS so i can't really comment on it, but that game against ND, i want to emphasize the fact that he was a freshman in his first big game in the ncaa tournament (no, western kentucky doesn't count as a big game). We all know how much experience matters in the tournament (which is why i like our chances now). The whole team was anti-clutch, most notably Bill Self, so to label him the reason we lost (whether you are really doing that or not i don't know) is not correct. We got outplayed that game and ND made every thing they shot up. I really don't see how he was anti-clutch and how it stood out to you so much. My main defense is he was a freshman, take it or leave it. Dee, since then, has put up some games. He was the Big Ten Player of the Year this year, and the Defensive player of the year. To win those honors, somewhere along the line you would have had to been clutch, by nature. You don't win awards if you don't show up in big games. At Purdue - Hit some big threes in that second half to lead us to a comeback victory. He was the story that game. At MSU - 7-13, 18 pts At Michigan - Do i even need to describe this one? Single handedly won that game with his defense and layups. Now, i know clutch to you may be only a last second shot or something...i agree. But i also think it is stepping up in 1. big games and 2. at big times other than the very last minute. Now, the majority of our wins weren't that close this year, so we didn't really need anyone to be clutch. In the few that were, Dee was usually pretty good. We lost one game. Was it Dee's fault? Sure he played like crap. Who didn't for us Sunday? I wouldn't label that "not clutch" and throw it on him. Even the last minute, he didn't even touch the damn ball on important plays. He was having an off day like everyone else. Before you bring up some of last year's games, let's just admit to the fact that he couldn't shoot a lick the whole first half (or more) of the season. Dee's a different player than he was freshman year or sophomore year, and arguably at the start of this year. He's a leader now. To be perfectly honest, i want the ball in his hands in this tournament if the game is on the line. I want him doing things. He won the POY deservedly because he won us some big games. This team will only go as far as Dee can take us, to be honest. If he doesn't show up, this team's in trouble. But i have a hard time believing he won't be 'clutch' in this tournament. We'll see what happens though.

Telling southsider to f*** off is going to get you real far on here...

I can't wait to see the Kansas/OSU rematch, assuming it happens. I also hope Mizzou gets the piss beat out of em

The more i hear about the new RPI, the more i think of the BCS. Just a thought.
