Do you work for a hit music station or a variety of current and 90's and 80's type station. If its hit music, at least you get to listen to Outkast's new song and Stacey's Mom, and good songs to counter songs like callin all angels.

well, my thesis states that the class system and characters in book 1 of the return of the native are based on marx's theory of historical materialism. Anyway, I gotta get some sleep, thanks for your help.

Marxist thought primarily deals with economics and a lot of economic interpretations. It looks primarily how wealth and money is divided in the society, the different classes that come out as a result of that, how and what products are produced and where they are sold. Simply put, everything has an economic reason as the underlying cause. The people change the style of government to change the ownership and distribution of resources. damnit, you just threw me for a loop. Looks like I picked the wrong door for a topic. Are these T-Shirts going to be promoting the sox or soxtalk.com for example if it is promoting the sox it might say something like Go Sox! and if it is promoting Sox talk it would say Soxtalk.com = ownage obviously, the t-shirts wouldn't say those generic phrases but I think you get the point of my question.

I wasn't ripping him, he is a baseball guy and was just covering chicago's reaction to the cubs. Plus, he said that he was pulling for the Marlins in game 1 . I can remember him being a beatwriter for the White Sox, now that I live in Jersey I don't read him as much, but I check in at Chicagosports.com every now and then, and I love reading his baseball takes.

I am presuming you are most knowledgeable in Marxist's theories on this board (though I may be wrong). For my english class I am writing a paper that involves drawing parallels to the Marxist theory of Historical Materialism. I am doing a lot of research, but I am hoping you could give me a preliminary summary of what Historical Materialism is, so I know I am on the right track. From what I understand so far, Historical materialism, in simplest terms, is: one society becomes out-dated, another takes over. Am I on the right track? I am begining to think I should have just drawn parallels to Greek Gods like everyone else in the class, rather than bring up complex social theories.
