I am presuming you are most knowledgeable in Marxist's theories on this board (though I may be wrong).
For my english class I am writing a paper that involves drawing parallels to the Marxist theory of Historical Materialism. I am doing a lot of research, but I am hoping you could give me a preliminary summary of what Historical Materialism is, so I know I am on the right track.
From what I understand so far, Historical materialism, in simplest terms, is:
one society becomes out-dated, another takes over.
Am I on the right track?
I am begining to think I should have just drawn parallels to Greek Gods like everyone else in the class, rather than bring up complex social theories.
