QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Nov 4, 2005 -> 02:20 PM) Thank f***ing god he's back. Here's to one of my favorite Sox ever: I'm glad Widger will be back. He's easily the best backup catcher the Sox have had in awhile.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Oct 30, 2005 -> 08:43 AM) Yeah. I thought I was a huge Bulls fan and that the Bulls would always be my favorite sports team. That's not so. I never found myself cheering so hard and watching the games so tightly. This team has me spent. I probably won't start worrying about the Bulls until December at the earliest. I hope the Sox do it again to me next year. As a huge Bulls fan too, as great as all those Jordan-era championships were, they don't compare to this. Chicago has starved for a World Series winner for so long it's ridiculous. Thank god it was the White Sox. I'm ready for the Bulls season to begin but can't imagine being too excited about watching games right now. Usually when the baseball season ends I can't wait for the Bulls to start playing. This year though on the heels of what the White Sox accomplished, the start of the Bulls season is just not met with that same excitedness. Gotta admit though it's pretty sweet that there was no month long wait.

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 03:14 AM) Ok I joined. Can we possibly move the draft back a day, since I hav an exam on at that time? I second the idea of moving the draft. How about Sunday?

QUOTE(drowninginflame @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 12:47 PM) The parade was amazing, I was out in front of my work @ CBOT and the paper was flying through the air and the streets were completley jammed full of people. The Rally on the other hand was the hardest part of the day, Ive never been so crammed in anywhere. People were getting pissed, I really wish they coulda done it in grant park for space reasons. and you couldn't hear a thing and paulie got a ton of cheers, the mosty with people chanting 5 more years and pay him! it was cool but cramped. I went to one of the Bulls rallies (after they beat Phoenix). Even at Grant Park, we couldn't see anything, but it was very cool being there.

http://cbs2chicago.com/video/[email protected] There's lots of video here but I thought the one with the South Side school children along the parade route was so special. It's on the second page now, I believe. Really NEAT. The parade was cool. Like Texsox said in the official parade thread, I feel real homesick watching this stuff. But thankgoodness, I'm at least able to watch it.

This is a nice idea. This was the best White Sox year of my lifetime. Man, what a blast. I'm bursting with pride. I have always loved this team and always supported them but this year....WOW! I've always felt, at least since the early 60's, that we took a back seat to the Cubs. No more. The White Sox orginization far outclasses that of the Cubs. Get in the back of the bus Cub fans because we're ruling now. As far as SoxTalk goes, man oh man I'm glad I found this site. I love it and I love you guys!

This was real sweet and real "White Sox" if you know what I mean. SOX PRIDE! If you didn't get pretty choked up when Paulie gave the ball to Jerry and then again when Jerry did his speech, I don't know.....

QUOTE(YASNY @ Oct 28, 2005 -> 10:11 AM) Carl was a part of this team and he'll always be remembered for it. But his time as Sox is done. I concur. I like the guy, but the Sox can find someone better, puhlease!

I don't know about underrated but how about Rowands catch in left field of the ball that Pods lost in the lights. When I saw that play, I said to myself if not aloud, that this team was destined.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 03:28 PM) I'm sorry, but if you couldn't watch 4 extremely close, extremely hard fought games in a row and not enjoy the baseball you're watching, there's something really freaking wrong with you. This series was every single bit as hard fought as those last 4 games of the ALCS, if not more so. I can still remember collapsing backwards onto the floor after Buehrle got that popup in game 3. Damn straight. ANY true baseball fan would have enjoyed watching any one of these games. Good baseball. Schoenfield is an idiot.

QUOTE(chisoxfan79 @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) Some idiot I work with wore a SOX Suck T-shirt to work today and he kept telling me Sox suck I told him he is entitled to his opinion but when he says that say World Champion White Sox. Most other Cub Fans congradulated me and said next year is there year. Yeah right, Cub fans. Not next year, MAYBE next century. MAYBE.

Uribe's glovework was sensational. I knew he was good, but my god he was unbelievable. Kinda reminding me of Brooks Robinson in I think it was 1966. Just one great play after another, almost making tough plays look routine. And Dye with hit after hit and some walks too. Maybe the best move Ozzie made all year was putting Dye in the 3 spot and leaving him there.

Incredible post. You nailed it.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Oct 25, 2005 -> 01:30 PM) Would it matter if I'm in the 1st league? Is anybody else doing more than 1? Yeah, I am. It looked they were short here so I joined this one too.

I love it! Especially: "I'm not sure what happened after that," said Jenks, "other than a whole lot of loudness -- and a bunch of guys hitting me on the head." Then he looked up and saw his catcher, Pierzynski, sprinting toward him -- and (yikes) leaping into his arms. "I knew he was coming," Jenks said. "I just had a feeling. I saw it in his face: 'Here I come.' " "Hey, I knew he wouldn't drop me," Pierzynski said. "He might be the only guy in the league who's fatter than me." "It didn't matter how big he is," Jenks said. "I could have picked up a car right then."

QUOTE(thedoctor @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 09:18 AM) this season will never end. That's so true. As someone old enough to remember '59, you don't ever forget. I treasure thoughts and memories of '59 still. Memories from last night (well, all season for that matter) will still be making you feel really really good 50 years from now. ENJOY!

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 08:57 AM) From what I can tell, the SI thing is about $90??? CRap. I have no interest in the magazine, but the book, balls, and coins look nice. I'll get those cards for sure. Though I don't collect them really, I so have a stack of White Sox from when I was a kid, dating back to about '75. They are the only ones I hung onto. Plus I have the Lemon Chill cards from...'99 I think. I gotta get this set too. I have thousands of Sox cards going back to the early 50's including all 3 Lemon Chill sets (I miss those!). None of my cards will be sweeter than these.

QUOTE(Johnny @ Oct 27, 2005 -> 08:23 AM) Priceless moment watch the video... http://cbs2chicago.com/video/[email protected] i have this gut feeling he is going to be at the sox parade and he will be singing. Wow!! Thanks so much for that link. That's the Sweet HOME Chicago kinda stuff that I miss SO much. Awesome!
