  1. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 04:04 PM) Gio scared me with his small frame and injury problems. Haig bothers me more than Gio, but with the amount of money Philly picked up, we had to expect to give up something. It'll be interesting to see if either of those kids make it. Injury prone minor leaguers and Rowand for Thome at half the price.
  2. QUOTE(JDsDirtySox @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 04:03 PM) If people are mad about trading Haigwood and Gio... Get over it. It could have been Young, Owens, B. Anderson, BMac, or even Contreras... but it wasn't. GO SOX! Exactly. It is not like we can throw in Honel and Greg Norton.
  3. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 04:00 PM) THe 2 minor leagures are 2 minor league pitchers. no one major!!!!!!! Agreed. For every blue chip prospect that makes it, there are 100 Scott Ruffcorns. I wish we dumped Honel.
  4. ESPN reports that the deal will be official pending a physical later in the week. KW: "Hey Jim. Can you come to Chicago tommorrow?" Hopefully it is not the same Dr. that said Sirotka was ok.
  5. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 03:54 PM) It would have to be BA. They're gonna want BMac but they're not gonna get him. Pierre is also only a year away from FA. I do not think it will be BA, BMAC, Young, or Owens. I suspect Marte and a prospect. But hell, I'm no Bruce Levine.
  6. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 03:53 PM) Who do they trade to Florida for Juan? If the Delgado trade is the standard, probably not much.
  7. QUOTE(Soxman72 @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 03:51 PM) As I posted in another topic I believe Pierre is next. This signals big changes. Those who complained that the offense was weak last year should not be b****ing right now. With Pierre and Thome over Rowand and Everett, we will improve.
  8. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 03:48 PM) Yeah, but he doesn't get to face Jim Parque anymore or Jamie Navarro
  9. QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 03:46 PM) http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/4762/s...er&type=Batting G AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB K SB CS AVG vs. CWS 122 420 87 124 22 2 41 107 80 125 3 1 .295 .406 .650 1.056 Good numbers as long as we keep in mind the pitching we had. Those numbers seem pretty clutch to me.
  10. What are Thome's stats at the Cell?? We also have to keep in mind that he got to hit James Baldwin, Jim Parque, Doug Drabek, and Jamie Navarro at the Cell when he played for the Tribe so I am not sure how much stock to put in his Cell stats.
  11. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 03:35 PM) Rowand was expendable and with the seemingly high upside that Anderson has, this is a great trade. In the long run BA could very well turn out to be better than Rowand, I don't necessarily buy into this but it certainly makes this trade worth the risk. I agree. I can understand why people are upset, but at best Rowand would be here one more year. We have a log jam of OFers and all have better potential than Rowand.
  12. QUOTE(Jordan4life_2005 @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 03:28 PM) They can defintely afford PK now. I think it's gonna come down to years. I would have to think PK is giddy at the idea of having a guy like Thome hitting behind him. I like our chances of signing him a lot more now. But Arow This also likely signals Frank Thomas has played his last game in a Sox uniform.
  13. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 23, 2005 -> 03:21 PM) The phils will be eating half of Thome's contract per ESPN 1000 If that is true, that is huge. PK can still be in a sox unifrom. Maybe.
  14. Why has nobody suggested moving to Gary, Indiana???
  15. At the risk of being crude, who gives a flying f*** what ESPN thinks?
  16. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Nov 21, 2005 -> 10:29 AM) If North hosts pre or post I'm going to call in all the time and tell him to resign from his spot. Perhaps we should all do that. Maybe then and only then will the Score get the hind. ME >>>
  17. I thought about it and I can not believe nobody has mentioned schlotzsky's. I am not sure how many there are in Chicago (the one downtown on Randolph closed), but they thrive in other parts of the country. The Original is awesome and they make the best Rueben I have had.
  18. Perhaps this is a good thing since in Chicago sports 'If something can go wrong, it probably will.' BEE-YITCH!!
  19. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Nov 20, 2005 -> 05:07 PM) Im just enjoying the ride. Nobody.....I MEAN NOBODY thought they'd be 7-3. No doubt about it. Nobody was expecting to win this game like this. A great day in Chicago.
  20. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Nov 20, 2005 -> 05:05 PM) Please show me where lots of Bears fans are going crazy and talking Super Bowl. Other than saying it's a possiblity, which it is, I haven't seen it. Scroll back in this post.
  21. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Nov 20, 2005 -> 05:02 PM) And the Bears are proving to be a good team too. Your point? BREAKDOWN The Bears are a good team. There are other good teams. There is a way to go before the Superbowl. SuperBowl rings have never been issued in November.
  22. QUOTE(The Bones @ Nov 20, 2005 -> 04:57 PM) Who's gonna win that division? Buffalo? NYJ? Miami? The Pats are going to the playoffs no doubt about it. Oh, and the Pats haven't won 3 straight Super Bowls. The rapture of victory is blinding some people. There are still a lot of good teams out there.
  23. QUOTE(DukeNukeEm @ Nov 20, 2005 -> 04:51 PM) Offense gets you to the playoffs usually, but defense wins there. Can you name 6 players on the '00 Ravens? No. And the defensive perfomance today hasnt happened since '00. But I can name the quarterback of 3 of the last 4 Superbowl winners. Those teams had pretty good defenses too.
