White Sox vs. Blue Jays, 6/01/07 (W)

QUOTE(TheOcho @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 08:09 PM) Owens is so fast he almost ran past the base. Holy s***, shades of '05. It is amazing the dimension speed adds to a game. ... especially when the speed isn't getting pick off 1B. -

QUOTE(TheOcho @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 08:07 PM) Exactly, you and I are seeing eye to eye tonight. Owens grinding an infield single. Maybe they could even turn off the stadium lights and go with only black light for the next round of AJ vs AJ. -

7 innings from Javy!?!?!? QUOTE(TheOcho @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 08:02 PM) You have to be when your watching AJ vs. AJ. It's like watching Pink Floyd The Wall. -

QUOTE(TheOcho @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 07:54 PM) I was afraid to say AJ looks terrible against AJ. I didn't think Soxtalk could handle it. You're right. AJ handling AJ sounds like masturbation. -

QUOTE(TheOcho @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 07:51 PM) Holy crap does AJ look lost against Burnett. Its AJ overload. -

Perhaps AJ should run out to the mount and hug Javy like he did to MB after the no hitter when Javy makes it through 6 innings. SHould Ozzie "Press his Luck" and send Javy out for the 7th? -

Approaching Javy's usual meltdown territory. Let's hope he does not go after the catcher when it happens. -

I want to get this inning over to see Owens bat again. I am actually excited about somebody in the offense. -

IS Mackowiak in the line up really that much better than Brain Anderson? -

The movement on the basepaths last inning was borderline orgasmic. WOW Baserunning skills!!! -

A moment of reflection ... Sweeney comes up for a couple of weeks and is our best offensive weapons (In just one game) Owens is outshining much of the rest of our offense. Is our offense that bad, are the rookies actually good, or a little of both. -

Crede has been pretty invisible this year, but that does not make it fun to watch Citron. -
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 06:24 PM) Or in fact, AJ and Zambrano have become good friends and Z was defending AJ's honor. We can call this "The McDonald's commercial conspiracy"
-
QUOTE(Nokona @ Jun 1, 2007 -> 04:38 PM) Is Lou going to make it thorugh this year? Are you recommending suicide?

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:51 PM) Wrong. We're still going to be slow as all hell. It's not like he's going to be put into the 3-7 that clogs the bases. That's why i qualified my statement with the word "could". Take a moment to scroll back and look. I'll wait .... See. Owens is quick. I never said he would actually reach base.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:48 PM) Owens was just pulled from the knights game according to Rongey. Here we go. Since we easily have the slowest team in the majors right now, this could be a good thing.

Another Loss into the Abyss

QUOTE(BearSox @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:39 PM) Yeah, maybe not the second part... I didn't realize Young was on a tear since April. The original trade was a questionable one, but I had no problem with the deal Vazquez got in the offseason. If the contract makes it easier for the Sox to trade him back to Montreal, than count my vote in favor too. Until the Expos rejoin the league, count me out. -

QUOTE(fathom @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:37 PM) How can anyone say with a straight face that Erstad has been better than Chris Young this year? Maybe he was looking at the hitting starts for Chris Young, the pitcher on the Padres. Kenny Williams might have Hawk say this to help him save face. -
For every good KW trade, he brings in a Gavin Floyd or Jon Adkins for a former all-star. Solid!
-
QUOTE(BearSox @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:30 PM) As much you don't want someone to get injured, it is kinda good now that Erstad will hopefully not get his 600 AB's this year, resulting in a 6 million dollar payday for him, most likely. That's what most of us were already thinking

QUOTE(BearSox @ May 31, 2007 -> 08:25 PM) What's your problem with Vaz? That was a good extension considering what pitchers with worse stuff and track records got this offseason. And he is a good pitcher. Plus, Erstad has out-played Young this season..... My understanding of what you're saying is that it is better to get a bargain on a mediocre pitcher (Javy) and let good pitcher (MB) go, than to just sign the good pitcher and realize we never really needed the mediocre pitcher. -

QUOTE(BearSox @ May 30, 2007 -> 04:50 PM) The only two people who should be kept on the current coaching staff is Coop and Razor.... And we might need a new GM with a new point of view and who would re-tool the whole farm system coaching and player-wise. I agree with you except on the point of Cooper. He is way over-valued on this board. WHile he has helped some guys, he certainly has failed with others. I am not sure I would fire Cooper, but just think he is overrated.
