  1. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 09:10 AM) Levine, as far as I know, is done as the Baseball Insider. He said it during one of the playoff games. Dolgin I couldn't imagine being brought to the Score, but I sure to hell hope he is. He grew on me big time throughout the year, I thought he was fantastic as the season went on. It'd make it a bit easier to lose Rooney if we kept Bryan on the pre and post. Radio would be a better place without Levine on it.. Bryan back would be a good thing I agree. They've had prelim talks but nothing solid at this point. I wouldn't count John out 100% just yet. As I said in late September there is intent on the Sox part to get involved in some way.
  2. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 09:01 AM) The radio station doesn't pay the Sox announcers, the team does. That's why Rooney may still do "Talking Baseball" with Bruce Levine during the season. The radio station pays them. Bruce, sadly, is an AM1000 employee also, as is Bryan.
  3. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Nov 1, 2005 -> 07:39 AM) I honestly don't know why defered money is such a big deal. If I was making that much, as in millions per year, and they wanted to defer some of it until later in life, I'd let them...JUST IN CASE, especially if I was a dumbass that couldn't handle his own money and needed to hire accountants to do it for me. That would be like making about 10M per year NOW...and then, after you're retired and unable to play baseball anymore...them still paying you a few million per year to sit on your proverbial ASS and do nothing. Now, don't get me wrong, as defered money is not a great deal for those who have financial control, as it lets the owner collect interest on said money, however, sports players arent usually the great financial geniuses of our time, as a lot of them end up dead broke in the future. At least this way they can say I still have a future...rather than finding them pumping gas or working at a diner 25 years later and breaking my heart. It's not, to many. I do find it funny reading the posts to offer him deferred $$ though. Just a year ago the same folks were s***ting on Jerry & Co for offering the same type deal to Mags.. :rolly
  4. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 08:13 PM) How many times are we going to see these stupid ass rumors until he signs somewhere? About 1,000? :rolly I'll take the over.

    Saw 2

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 05:24 PM) Exactly people say Saw is so great because of the endings.... well in both cases the endings really sucked considering its just random out of the blue.... Ill admit in the 2nd they at least gave you a clue for 1/2 of the ending if you paid attention. But the thing in number 2 is the characters never had a chance. One guy dies right away when they have no clue whats going on. Than the tape they find in the basement is totally bogus because the guy followed what he was supposed to and got screwed. Than the 2nd tape was complete bogus since there was only a minute timer and than 2 of the characters dont even get a chance.... I always thought the whole point was for the person to learn to value their life. How are they learned to value their life when they never get a chance too... the whole plot contradicts everything its apposed to. Didn't quote understand that "please don't post spoilers" thing, eh...

  7. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 05:04 PM) Also, the Bulls, Knicks, and I believe a couple of other NBA teams released "soundtracks" of music played in the arenas, along with soundbites from important events. Maybe however that was done would be a way to get the songs on the DVD? That was a CD though IIRC? Right? Legal differences between audio and video..

    Saw 2

QUOTE(SnB @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 03:50 PM) no one could have predicted how the first one ended because the ending made no f***ing sense. When you grow up.. you'll understand complicated things a bit more easily.

  15. QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 04:32 PM) I think that Garland's contract should be escalating each year like this: 06: $4.5 Million 07: $8 Million 08: $10 Million 09: Club Option for $12 Million or 3 Million Buyout. That would total $25.5 Million for 3 years plus a club option. If they come at him with that, he will laugh in their faces.

I don't think your offending anyone.
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 03:59 PM) That doesn't mean the Yankees won't try to overpay him. Agree. But he's one that I think would stay out of loyalty.
  20. QUOTE(LEXNLIV @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 03:45 PM) I would like to see the Sox go on a different direction. I would like to see them dump Marte and El Duque and go after BJ Ryan. I thnk this accomplishes several things. 1. Its insurance in case Hermannson can't come back and perform at the same level, or even possibly not play at all. 2. If the above happens, he is insurance in case Jenks has a sophmore lsump and cant close games over a full year next year. 3. In the most optimistic scenario, it gives you the best bullpen in baseball with Hermannson, Jenks, Cotts, Politte, and BJ Ryan. 4. In combination with our starters, we have hands down the best staff in baseball, with unbelievable depth. If that were to happen and you catch a little lightening in a bottle with Frank at the # 3 hole. I believe we would be in a tremendous position to repeat. Baltimore is in love with Ryan, and vice versa.
  21. I need them to win straight up... They are my upset this week.
  22. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 03:40 PM) If I were Jason, I would be suing this guy to get my bandwidth back... Ditto. Such a waste.
  23. QUOTE(rangercal @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 03:34 PM) where did you hear this? Trib and a few radio blurbs after we swept Boston.
  24. Is there a snowballs chance in hell Baltimore wins tonight..
  25. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Oct 31, 2005 -> 03:26 PM) i wanted ideas on what the TATTOO should get like. Not your opinion on if I should get one or a spelling lesson. Meow.. hiss.. hiss...
