Well... more drama.. but hopefully the friend gives him the name of the guy that bought them and it will all work out. He called his rep and said he lost the tickets. The Sox then canceled the issued tickets and he picked up re-prints yesterday. He called his "friend" and told him what he did and to give the guy back his money and tell the buyer to contact him directly and he'll sell him the tickets at face value. Naturally, the "friend" is super pissed and has gone on to involve a bunch of us ST holders (there's a group of 40 or so of us that have been friends for 10 years or so). It's getting ugly...

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 10:14 AM) Kenny did say he hurt himself on Lake Michigan Saturday, and if that's a look a like its a pretty darn good one, with huge coincidence. It looked like a huge party, and I'm sure a lot of people would like their picture taken with Kenny. Its most likely just an innocent photo. The pictures above it give it an illusion of something other than that. I'm sure it's an innocent photo... as stated. I didn't hear about his injury.

QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 10:00 AM) Exactly, I didnt see him there, and I was there until I left for the game at 4. And I'm sure you would have heard a buzz. Good look alike I say.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050809/ap_en_...DRrBHNlYwM3NjI- NEW YORK - Dana Reeve, who spent nine years caring for her paralyzed husband, Christopher Reeve, until his death last year, announced Tuesday that she has lung cancer. Reeve, 44, said she decided to disclose her illness following rumors about her health in the media. "I have recently been diagnosed with lung cancer, and am currently undergoing treatment," Reeve said in a statement. "I have an excellent team of physicians, and we are optimistic about my prognosis." "Now, more than ever, I feel Chris with me as I face this challenge," Reeve said. "As always, I look to him as the ultimate example of defying the odds with strength, courage and hope in the face of life's adversities." Christopher Reeve, the onetime Hollywood "Superman" turned activist for spinal cord research after a horse-riding accident, died Oct. 10, 2004. Dana Reeve, an actress, was a constant companion and supporter of her husband during his long ordeal and his work for a cure for spinal cord injuries. She is chairwoman of the Christopher Reeve Paralysis Foundation, which funds research on paralysis and works to improve the life of the disabled. To date, it has awarded $55 million in research grants and $7.5 million in quality of life grants. She was performing in the Broadway-bound play "Brooklyn Boy" in California when she had to streak home to reach her husband's bedside before he died. She gave up the role for the New York run. Their son, Will, is 13 years old.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 08:41 AM) Well, we miss out on the sonic booms with them landing at Edwards, but WELCOME HOME DISCOVERY! My sister took the baby to watch it land so they were a bit bummed... but glad it made it home safely. I guess NASA got busy this morning and set up huge screens for those that came out to watch it land so they could see it in California. Nice of them.

There is a PC on NASA tv right now. Very cool.

Carolyn's husband confirmed the relationship had been going on since spring training - from Carolyn's mouth, phone messages & records, travel itineraries, and photo's... confirming Lowe's wife's accusations. And according to public court records a divorce was not (and still has not been) filed. If two people can split rationally - it happens all the time - the good for them. There clearly was no "agreement" to date others or much rational in this situation. Lowe is losing 47% of his income because that's the law. Nuke is s***ting on his clothes because he thinks men that cheat are scumbags, and Carolyn needs to be fired because she crossed an ethical journalism (yea.. an oxymoron) line. I'm all for 2 people being together if it's meant to be. But like Murcie said above.. close one relationship first. Especially where kids are involved. I'd have a lot more respect for him if he said "honey, listen... I met a woman and I have feelings for her. I have not gotten physical with her out of respect for you, our kids, and our commitment.. but I think we should separate because I think I want to explore this other relationship further". It's not so hard.. and would put a stop to that "hell hath no fury like a woman scorned" bulls***.

http://www.cnn.com/2005/WORLD/europe/08/08...reut/index.html Man forgets wife at gas station Monday, August 8, 2005; Posted: 10:36 a.m. EDT (14:36 GMT) ROME, Italy (Reuters) -- A Macedonian man left his wife at an Italian service station and only realized he had driven off without her six hours later, news agency Ansa said. The couple, who were travelling with their 4-year-old daughter, pulled over for petrol in the coastal city of Pesaro as they were heading back to their home to Germany. After filling the tank, the husband drove away -- without noticing that his 30-year-old wife, originally from Georgia, had got out of the car to go to the toilet. The woman, who had no money or documents with her, contacted the police who eventually traced her husband to Milan, some 340 km (210 miles) north of Pesaro, Ansa said. The husband told police he had not missed his wife because she always sat in the back of the car with their daughter.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 07:46 AM) Buerhle will start game 1 if healthy. IF healthy.. I agree. ** I changed "of" to "if". I think that's what you meant... right?

QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 04:16 AM) If you are talking about that father that appeared before Congress with the players on March 17th, that was Burt Hooten's brother. There were 3 fathers and 1 mother. Not sure whch one it was, but the one that said his son idolized Mark and started taking andro to be like him, which led to other steroids.

QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Aug 9, 2005 -> 02:33 AM) That is f***ing evil. What a f***ing lowlife asshole this guy is. If I was her I would totally destroy the inside of that place before he got back then Id sue the s*** out of him and take him for everything I could. :puke Ohhhh... she's got his balls in a vice. In California - one of the WROST states to divorce... she'll get approx 47% of his GROSS income for child support and who knows how much alimony. He'll also likely be forced to set up college funds for the kids, pay for primary schooling and continue medical insurance. All justified in my opinion. And Carolyn had better be fired.. and hopefully never work again.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 08:26 PM) He had 2 awesome first inning catches. Both very impressive. Thanks guys.. I thought my neighbor was being a smart ass.

Guys... how good were Aaron's 1st inning catches? The neighbor Cub fan came over to tell me about them.

QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 08:00 PM) That's what I though. Well, he proved Ozzie's pimple comment. Assmunch (him not you lol). LMAO.. I haven't heard that word in about 10 years..

QUOTE(TheDybber @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 05:42 PM) It lost me after season 3, but I've picked it up again. I'm enjoying this last season, so far. There aren't as many f'ed up relationships...except for Ruth. As for the flashbacks, after hearing David talk about how Nate used to protect him as a kid, the flashbacks make sense to me. Nate isn't around to protect him anymore and Keith hasn't reached that status yet. That's what I got out of it. I didn't catch that, but it makes a lot of sense.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 05:12 PM) Could you elaborate? Edit: I guess you mean the 40-and-over crowd, those closer to death, find it more interesting... Can't comment since I'm not over 40... but I would say those with closed minds and limited knowledge would have a hard time comprehending it.

QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 05:11 PM) I watched it regularly, until this season. I just can't get into it this year. I know it is supposed to be a messed up family, but just watching all those people do such idiotic things just gets boring. Nate is better off dead, his character was an ass. Enough with the flashbacks from David. Someone needs to b****-slap the Ruth, AND Claire. And Federico, well, he is just an idiot. LOL.. Good summation. And I agree, it's tough to get into if you haven't seen them from the start and understand why they are how they are and how they got there. My neighbor saw the end of last season and ended up renting the DVD's and watched them in the spring before this season started and she likes it a lot better since she knows their history.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 05:02 PM) This was another one of those shows that lost my interest after about the first season... Not something kids would find entertaining.. I agree. Hopefully you can take the above as it is intended.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 04:52 PM) I honestly think we can't blow this... I'm sure most of us are with you on this...
