  1. QUOTE(KevHead0881 @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 11:09 AM) If it came down to that game, I'd like to think that the Sox would do all they could to make sure it was televised. But I don't know how these things work. Don't worry, it will be. Not even an issue.
  2. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 10:19 AM) He lives in Arizona. He is a regular golfing buddy with a family friend who lives out that way and made an ass load of money in home security. And from what he says about Alice it corroborates all the stories that he's a really cool and down to earth guy. Supposedly in Gilbert which is right next to Scottsdale. A friend says they see him all the time at the Venetian.
  3. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 09:16 AM) they really have blown this thing wide open. 15.0 over the indians. Thats amazing.
  4. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 05:08 PM) Ok but I didnt even start this thread everyone was saying how bad cubs fans and than you tried to call out sox fans. And I just told you why its different. Than you call me out and say all my posts are dumb and you ignore them.... If my point is stupid please explain it to me, rather than just say its stupid and 95% of my posts arent worth reading. I didn't call out anyone. You made a comment that Sox fans don't do that, and I corrected you because.. they do. "call you out".. what exactly does that mean..? And I didn't say all - do not put words in my mouth. And I didn't say 95% of your posts weren't worth reading.. again, do not put words in my mouth. I already explained why I thought your point was stupid. Trying to make a point about what's worse....?? They are both stupid, ignorant, and classless. it's like saying what's worse... dying from a stab wound or a gun shot.. who cares.. you're dead. You want to agree to disagree or keep this going..? I have a light work load today so I can dance.
  5. QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 09:14 AM) As you said to someone yesterday ... SHUUUUUUUT UUUUUUP!
  6. QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 09:12 AM) Meat Loaf. I thought he was from England...?
  7. Seaver jersey that both him and Fisk signed with 300th win and HOF .
  8. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 08:51 AM) They added another pitcher in an attempt to keep their best relievers arms fresh for September and October. The team was built on pitching, why not give your best arms every possible advantage when they'll be needed most? Jim... I so often read your posts and picture you're forehead all bloody from banging it against the wall. :banghead

    QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 08:58 AM) I think you'll find you recognize more of his songs than you think you will. I don't know what you consider a good concert but I could sit and listen to Diamond if he was just sitting on a stool on stage and singing. No "show" necessary to entertain me. I probably know the words to 7 or 8.. I know I'll recognize a lot more than that. I've heard he's a good show so I'm sure it'll be fun.. I'd rather be at the Sox game though.

    QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 08:48 AM) The only advice I can give you is that "Saving Silverman" is hilarious. Other than that, I dont know much about Neil. LOL.. yea it is. I know a few of his songs. I really didn't want to go tonight because we're gonna see him in Boston next week but I got veto'd..
  11. QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 08:30 AM) The entire 40 man roster CAN be there, but that is almost unheard of. Don't they usually keep it around 32 to 35..?
  12. You still gotta make contact. I agree.. roids are terrible.. and it's cheating. But without the eyes and the instinct one is not hitting a 90+ mph ball. Both are equally bad, IMO, because they are both cheating.

    Anyone seen him in concert..? Any good..? I got screwed into going tonight.. must "mingle" with work contacts. :rolly
  14. QUOTE(spiderman @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 08:19 AM) Are we at 43 right now ? Yes
  15. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 31, 2005 -> 07:54 PM) It couldn't have anything to do with the fact that Bajenaru's ERA is over 4 f***ING RUNS LESS THAN ADKINS could it? :headshake Pffffttt.. facts. :rolly
  16. QUOTE(SouthsideNorthsideFan @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 09:30 PM) Your opinion is so far off-base, it's borderline hater material. Would you have preferred a gushing, thankful, limp-wristed-wrigley-bleacher-like speech like most do? Tell me, what forum, if any, would be good for such a speech? An opinion.. off base.. LMAO. Perhaps a youth baseball camp.. or a YMCA. Somewhere where he might make a difference and not in from of a bunch of adults that are already aware of the dangers of roids. "Hater material"... :dips***
  17. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 09:21 PM) Robin was popular, but you're wrong with that statement. Where were all the Robin posters and endorsements? Agree totally. Robin was more of a hermit than Frank was/is. Frank owned this city for nearly 10 years. Robin not so much.
  18. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 04:58 PM) Sounds like the cind of fracture that can be missed at first until swelling goes down around the ankle. Just a guess, though. Ahhhh... I bet you are right. Like Prior's arm. They had to wait till it stopped swelling to x-ray or MRI it.
  19. QUOTE(SouthsideNorthsideFan @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 09:08 PM) OK. That was the ultimate forum. Young players should take heed. The most laughable, yet plausible outcome would be for abusers like soso never to get into the Hall. Good grief... :rolly It is MY OPINION that it was not the right forum.. better?
  20. QUOTE(VAfan @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 07:33 PM) I don't get all the hate for Willie. Sure, he couldn't bunt. But I remember the game when Frank went in as a PH, walked, Willie pinch ran, stole second, and scored the tying run I believe in a Sox rally. In the postseason, having him available to pinch run could make all the difference in a 1-run game. Timo just doesn't cut it in that capacity. Granted, it is a limited skill set, but he's also drawn some key walks. I believe we can do better than Willie and Timo, but they've helped win games this year so I bear them no ill will. It's got nothing to do with his on field performance for me.. although that aint that great to start with.
  21. QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 09:16 PM) I agree Steff. I had the sincere pleasure and honor of meeting and chatting with the Big Man a few times. At one Soxfest he was signing autographs for a long line of people, I asked him to sign one of grey kids gloves they sell at the park, for toddlers. I said "Could you sign this for my Son" "Sure, how old is he?" "Just over a month old.." He asked if I had a picture, I took out my wallet and showed him. He told me that's a big kid for one month and that my son with take his job in 20 years. He connected fine, by me. That's the only side of Frank I have ever known. You should see him around his own kids. They own him bad.. LOL
  22. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 04:52 PM) Between losing 190 bucks and my laptop charger in Minnesota and going to Cedar Rapids to meet my new college roomate and school shop, I've been a little short on time. I was just giving you crap. I know you college guys are busy right now.
  23. QUOTE(the People's Champ @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 06:19 PM) but you knew that he is currently driving a jag?? you're kidding right? No I know that. I was just in Baltimore and saw him driving it.
  24. QUOTE(the People's Champ @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 06:15 PM) No he won a Corvette at the All Star game for being the MVP that is the reason for my earlier post. I thought you were being sarcastic in your reply so i edited my reply, but apparently you werent. my bad I had no idea. Don't pay enough attention to those things.
  25. I think he's connected with the fans just fine.. it's the media he has an issue with.
