QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 11:40 AM) i like konerko, it's just a running joke started by mike. i have bad influences Oh, I know the Konerko joke..
-
QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 11:36 AM) rowand called this? if you've ever seen him in gamethreads, he can't even call the fact that konerko sucks A debate is useless..

QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 11:31 AM) OK Steff, what ever you say. Thanks Yas.. from his comment that "there's nothing I can do about it I'm serving the suspension and that's all I can do" I assumed he did not have an appeal. Thanks also for not disappointing in your manner of correction..
-
QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 11:29 AM) I believe you are mistaken about that. I'm not dead sure, but I think he has also had an appeal. No, I'm right, he didn't. As a matter of fact he took the suspension and is doing nothing about it.

I'm watching the replay of it right now.. simply amazing.

QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 11:22 AM) They couldn't ignore his 3000th hit and they couldn't suspend him until the procedure had run it's course. What choice did MLB have? Ryan Franklin was not afforded the courtesy of his test results remaining secret until an appeal, if he chose or chooses to file one, were heard.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 11:06 AM) I heard a guy on ESPN yesterday morning say that everyone tested has to prodcue TWO cups of urine. If they test positive, then they test the second sample, just to make sure. That plus the appeal, I can see that taking a while. I see your point and you may be right, all I'm saying is that MLB has enough 'excuses' to not look bad, IMO. It's one sample split into 2.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 10:41 AM) I want to read that twitch factor...if anyone finds it, please post link. In this thread. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?sh...pic=37995&st=50

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 10:35 AM) Wasn't there an appeal process and a test of the 2nd urine sample? Might that have taken 7 weeks? No one else has been afforded that courtesy.. not the courtesy of a second test and an appeal.. I'm fine with that. It's not telling the media and celebrating a milestone while KNOWING he had tested dirty that I have issue with.

QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 10:36 AM) Canseco said that the roids really helped with 'seeing' the ball and his bat speed, not just strength. He referred to a twitch factor....maybe someone else here could elaborate, but I think it had to do with being able to react better to what he was seeing pitched...and then hit it 500 feet! He said that the reaction was faster.. not that he saw the ball better. I think LCR posted about the twitch factor in one of the other threads in this forum on the matter. Good article.

Is it just me or does the Score670 suck now?

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 10:09 AM) Does MLB look bad? Sounds like they can say that the testing works and that they aren't protecting anyone......unless of course we find out for sure that all the higher ups knew all along. THAT would be the biggest scandal in sports ever. Well.. they knew his test was positive at the very least 7 weeks ago it sounds like. Making a big deal of his 3000th hit makes them look like idots to me.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 09:42 AM) The sheer size of Texas is amazing. I can see them needing a lot more highway money than most states. What do they need roads for...?? Horses run on dirt don't they..

QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 09:42 AM) we're the best old married couple ever LMAO!!

QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 09:32 AM) And i was told you didn't exactly use the word clowns last night steff Ahhh.. nice to know "someone" can't be trusted... :rolly

QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:12 AM) Going again tonight, hopefully better than last night. You clowns are no longer allowed to attend games together..

QUOTE(3E8 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 08:55 AM) "I definitely do not believe that Rafael is using steroids right now. In the past, he has, but not right now" How is it just a possibility if Palmeiro is "definitely" not doing steriods? Test error? I just want to know if everyone who was forming their opinions of Palmeiro based on what Canseco said agree that he is definitely not using steriods right now. No, I do not agree with Jose's current OPINION..
-
MLB paid for full paid ads saying "Congrats Raffy"... nothing surprises me from those idiots.
-
QUOTE(3E8 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 08:17 AM) So to all those who read Canseco's book and stated he's being honest and have no reason not to believe him, do you agree with his current standpoint that Palmeiro is clean right now? That Palmeiro was set up by MLB? Or do you only believe Canseco when it makes you look most credible? Jose did not say for a fact MLB set him up.. he said it's a possibility. And I agree anything is a possibility.. but IMO, not likely. It is a full moon today or what..? An awful lot of pot stirring going on around here..

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 08:08 AM) Nah, we aren't going. Geeezzzus.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 08:02 AM) The rest of my family went tonight. They said they liked it but usually when theyn come home from a concert, they really pump it up more than it is. They just said they liked it this time. Anyway, seemed kind of short, like only 1 and a half to 2 hours long. Full 2 hours with no intermission. I was shocked he lasted that long. The entire show he looked like he was about to have a heart attack.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 08:01 AM) Piano Man was incredible, but Hey Jude>Piano Man in concert. You will love the Paul McCartney show. Did I say anything about "in concert"...?? Hu,hu?? Did you get the McCartney tickets yet...??

Terrible, terrible, terrible... That's all I can say. The seats were great, 4th row center, which meant not only could we see his sweat.. we could see his wrinkles. :puke The play list was horrible.. Jim didn't know half the songs he sang. And he mixed up Sweet Caroline so bad that people only knew the chorus. And R&W.. sorry but Paino Man is the best song to sing with a group, hands down. I would have been seriously pissed if I had paid for the tickets.

QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 05:35 AM) Steff, my dad's best friend was a professional fighter. Growing up my dad was trained by this guy and obviously to a lesser extent I was learning as well. I was always in or around a gym where a lot of these guys hang out. I, as well have seen first hand side effects of this crap. People who don't end up with serious side effects from that junk are the exception to the rule, not the rule. Nasty stuff they are... nasty and devistating.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 07:31 AM) Yea, but a LOT less likely to be tested. And even if random, the "random" won't get Barroid this year. Kap.. being on the DL has nothing to do with being tested. You can bet they tested Bonds. Bank on it.
