QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 12:48 PM) Personally I think the Soxtalk Fantasy Experiences are a better value Dinner with Jason (Chisoxfn) @ Mortons - Free - Cover his meal and travel expenses and he'll be there, whether he likes you or not Post like 2k5 for a day - $100 - For one day you can feel what it is to be the great Southsider. We will inflate your post count to greater than 2k's, so you too can know what its like to be Soxtalk's leading poster Become an admin for a day - $1000 - This is Soxtalk's best buy. You can become an admin for a day. See what goes on in the admin board, who do we gossip about, whose the next person to get banned. We even have pools of when certain posters will get banned Ban a Poster - Sox Tickets, Travel Expenses, and lots of booze - Fly all the admins out to Chicago, give us tix to a few games and buy us beer and we'll ban whoever the hell you want. Heck, if were drunk enough, we may even ban ourselves So come try out the Soxtalk experience....all money will go to a great cause (the admins pockets). Hu...?? Did I miss my designated "admin for a day" day...???

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 11:56 AM) There had to be to it than that, people just dont randomly attack and beat the s*** out of you if you ask if their ok. I have a feeling the friend isnt telling the whole truth. The attackers confessed. And there are witnesses.

Had a great time. Got to eat breakfast and mingle with the guys before the drivers/owners meeting Sunday morning. It was very hot out there.. at least 40 degrees hotter in the garage area's. We got to see the inspection stuff up close which was cool and hanging in the pits was interesting also. The suite was amazing.. sat with my folks for a bit but had to go back up thanks to a pounding headache. We ended up having police escort in and out so we were back downtown in less than an hour after the race was over.. although my folks made it home in less than a 1/2 hour (they live in Joliet) so I don't think the traffic would have been an issue anyway. Eye.. I didn't tell Jr to get his "head out of his ass " verbatim.. but I think he got the hint. A ton of people are Jr fans... and it's nice to see him recognize that. He's very nice to his fans. We were asked not to take pictures or ask for autographs at breakfast, but he stepped outside the tent and took some for chicks. Gordon was by far the most antisocial. Came in, grabbed a muffin and some juice, and the second people started walking his way he took off. I don't like him anyway so I didn't care. Overall, good time. I'd do it again in the suite. I don't think I would have enjoyed myself as much in the grandstand.

QUOTE(mreye @ Jul 12, 2005 -> 10:18 AM) Oops. I didn't think it'd be in the Sports Pub. It's been up since yesterday and nobody has asked the classic, "Why is this in the sports pub?" "This isn't a sport!" Thanks, Steff. I just happen to wander in there and read it just a few minutes before you posted.

QUOTE(UofIChiSox @ Jul 11, 2005 -> 11:57 AM) Regarding Hawk getting a cut, there was an e-mail question in a game earlier (Hawk loves e-mail) about the shirts, and Hawk said that they were being sold outside the stadium and for the e-mailer to come on out to a game and they won't be able to miss them. That doesn't mean he's getting a cut from the shirts, and I certainly don't think he is, but it made me believe that he doesn't really mind, otherwise why would he provide info on where to find one? If Hawk wanted to, he could go after the sellers or start selling official Hawk merchandise. He hasn't, so Hawk must not want to. How is it "official Hawk merchandise"..??

QUOTE(LauraJ14 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 04:27 PM) My only complaint with the bandwagoners is when they spend the whole game chatting about everything but baseball and comparing the Cell to Wrigley. If Wrigley is so damn wonderful, go watch a game there and leave me in peace. Laura.. ya just gotta tune them out. Or scream loudly in their direction when something happens on the field then say "did you guys see that?!?!?!" That usually works.

QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 04:19 PM) BTW think of how crowded soxfest will be this year. Maybe we can sell Steff's autograph as the soxtalk poster who scared KW to make moves. The finger pointing lady happened, then Garcia was signed. Coincidence, probably not. LMAO!!! He moved out of the neighborhood, too!!!

QUOTE(quickman @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 04:15 PM) I completely agree steff. Imagine that... I know what my dedication is and I also know the park should be full and our payroll should increase. Furthermore, we may convert a few with the type of season we have. As for getting around the park when full, I took care of that by going to the Club level. Always good up there.Rock next year, club level. We'll never move. We're too far in to be bothered by 1/2 price night buyers or bandwagoners. Plus I like to be downstairs so I can talk to all my "friends".. :rolly

I don't see them much where we sit either and if our regulars sell their tickets it must be to good friends or family cause when someone we don't know sits around us they don't say much. The exception was the Sunday Cubs game.. some real boneheads were near us that day but they wandered for most of the game so it wasn't a big deal. Like I said though.. I pay more attention to what's going on bwtween the lines. I get more aggravated at the beer vendors than I do the bandwagon jumpers.

QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 04:00 PM) when you can drive to games yourself, things change. I used to go to 1 or 2 a year when i couldn't drive. Now average around 15. Having a job helps too Or friends who can't use their tickets sometimes..

QUOTE(Soxnbears01 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 03:57 PM) I don't mind bandwagoners. If we end up winning anything, we all know the real fans get ALOT more satisfaction out of it. I know all of my friends that are the real fans and all the ones that are bandwagoners. I went through it during the Illini run this year, it sucks dealing with the idiots. But real fans get so much more out of it. I got a lot out of the Illini run this year.. Thoughts of Brian in the fetal position on the Allstate Arena floor still bring a smirk to my face..

QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 03:55 PM) Just means the foul pole. You're fine. No bleacher seats near the foul poles..

QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 03:53 PM) OK, I apologize. I did not mean to make the mistake; if someone can delete this thread, I would be much oblidged. No harm, no foul. This happenes to everyone occasionally.

QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 03:50 PM) I got no problem with that. I want starting an argument or anything it was just a real bonehead comment. Your 40 games, although it is 40 more games than me, does not equal 30,000 fans at every game. Amen. I go to 50+ - but pay for ALL 81 thank you very much - I don't care who's sitting next to me rooting or how long they've been rooting. I pay attention to the game.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 03:47 PM) geeez !! Give the guy a break! 3 links? We all did it at the same time... if nothing else we're efficient.

QUOTE(shakes @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 03:14 PM) What bleacher seats have obstructed views? I think he meant to put an "or" in there... or perhaps they consider the ones right next to the cf wall obstructed since you can't see a play in rf from some of those seats.

QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Jul 8, 2005 -> 03:01 PM) PACO MARTIN!!! He was the man!! His autograph is about as neat as you can possibly write "norberto martin" And stefff..I also own both a Lyle and James Mouton Autograph but not on the same ball Once again I'm pissed and I dont know why!!! Paco was crazy.. that's for damn sure. He writes like he's taking a test. LOL... I don't even know how I got the ball. One night after some crazy drinking no doubt.. LMAO.
