  1. I really don't like how you generalize. You do it often.
  2. Jim said he was in the far right lane, saw the semi on it's side sliding, and then the limo. He said it all happened in less than 10 seconds. He thinks the one that was smashed into the wall started it, but he's not sure. No other cars were involved that he could see. I must have just missed it.. which is good. I get freaked out easily by accidents since that asshole hit me by the White Hen.
  3. I left early this morning.. Jim just came up to tell me what happened. The limo hydroplaned into the pickup. That was the only reactionary accident. Thank God. Took him almost 50 minutes to get off at Roosevelt. Not going to be a fun ride this afternoon..
  4. I'd be pissed as well. Kris (Of K & M) is in disaster mode since that's her building. They were rerouted to somewhere off Hubbard. Should be an interesting few months for those 3000 employees..
  5. LMAO.. I had to leave for bowling. Anyhooo.. I've said previously that from what I have heard (as reciently as last Wednesday) that the Sox are looking hard at Pedro. I know the Mets offer was sweet.. but who knows. I think Pedro is sick of sharing the spotlight on the East Coast. That might work in our favor.
  6. Some don't agree with that. My post was for them. FWIW.. I agree with you. Didn't like it one bit.
  7. There isn't super glue super enough...
  8. Not bad at all, IMO. Screw him. Lets win in spite of him and make him sorry he didn't come here. Glass half full people..
  9. I just don't know anyone who would use them....
  10. "And for God's sakes.. DON'T cut THAT THING.. it smells reeeaaaalll bad" I went hunting with my dad and uncle a loong time ago.. I killed a few rabbits. It was pretty cool. The deer experience was... interesting, for lack of a better term. But the venison was soooo good.
  11. I think it's $4mil... but don't quote me. And Tex.. I don't know what they do. But I do know that Frank deals with Jerry directly.
  12. Carlton's been back to the park several times. When they retired his number, several opening day pitches, he was there for all the AS events - and coached the Futures game. And, IMO, you're off base on Frank's relationship with the Sox. Jerry and Frank are very, very close. The only person that Frank doesn't like and vice versa from what I have ever seen is Kenny.
  13. IIRC.. he also gave him $20K after the 73 HR season. That's $35K he got from Bonds. And I'm sure Shef and Giambi were paying him...
  14. It's so easy to think these guys are assholes when we don't know them (I include myself in there because I know - maybe 2 dozen ballplayers and more than half of them are near retirement). I've thought some are real jerks and met them and was totally shocked. Also goes the other way.. some you think are real nice are total asses. Which is why for the most part I take the things I read and hear at face value. I don't believe most of what I hear.. and only believe half of what I see. Barry had a definite brain fart on this one. I don't doubt he can be an ass... but he's not all bad. That's kinda what I wanted to get across in telling the story.
  15. I agree with you that he could have helped him out.. difference is I believe he did. I know I've told this story before.. but quickly.. I met Barry 5 or 6 years ago - maybe 4 diffferent times during the season. Nice guy, really. This was before his father was real sick. A couple years pass and I had not seen him since. When Ray got traded I went to some games and after we all went out to dinner. In walks Barry.. he walks around saying hi to everyone.. and without missing a beat.. walks up to me.. says hello to me by name. Spends a few minutes asking me how life is, buys a few rounds of drinks, etc, etc.. Here is a guy who meets and talks to hundreds of people over the season.. and after 2 years remembers my name...? And goes out of his way to say hello..?? That, to me, is not a guy who would treat his friends.. those he sees on a regular basis (his trainer) like crap. Clearly, because of meeting him I have a different opinion about him and I think he really would have/did do all he could for the guy. Respect to you also, SFF.
  16. How do you know he didn't..? Like I said.. I'm sure he paid him - if for nothing else but to keep his mouth shut.. and I'm sure it was a hefty amount. The guy is a lowlife scum. I'm sure he squandered his money. I give a s*** about my friends also.. and they benifit from me greatly. But what they do with $$ or anything else I give them after they get it is none of my business and if they choose to be careless with it.. to bad. I'm not a bank.. and I don't think anyone - regardless of their wealth - should be treated like one. Thinking that he should have bought the guy a house just cause he has more money than most doesn't fly with me. JMO, of course.
  17. He wont support his trainer.. what's wrong with that..? Why is it his responsibility to afford his trainer a house.? I'm sure he paid the guy. What he did with his money to not be able to put a roof over his house is none of Bond's concern. Of course.. Barry's comments following leave a lot to be desired.. but I don't think he should have bought the guy a house.

    Death penalty...??

No way. I've seen way too many fathers reduced to Disney Dads who are good for nothing except at Christmas and Birthday time.. and the greedy b****es who work part time at Nordstroms and drive luxury cars on the CS dime. Granted.. there are a lot of ex-wives who are not like that.. but I know a lot more who are. And if the mother says the father is not fit.. her word is gospel no matter what and he's lucky if he gets supervised visits. A father questions a mothers ability to parent and there's a 5 year investigation.. and the kid(s) stay with her during the investigation. Child welfare in divorce cases is a joke.

    Death penalty...??

Agree with this 10000%. And it's not just the lawyers I blame.. I blame the idiot judges more who allow the judgements.
