My sister is married to a looser, too. They have a daughter. Would my sister be better without him, hell yea. But would I tell her that.. hell no. Unless she or my neice is in physical danger, I'm not saying a word. My sister is an adult. She will live her life how she sees fit to live it. I had 1 conversation with her. Told her Jim and I would be there for her and the baby no matter what they ever needed. No question asked. I don't pry, and she talks to me. Where my mother shoves her nose into her business all the time.. and my sister doesn't tell her anything. Ya just have to be supportive. Just let her know that you're there. If she needs you, she'll come to you. But it's a decision she has to make on her own. Telling her she needs to dump him will only make things worse. I can not stress enough against resorting to degrading him and her choice to be with him.. remember.. she loves him.

Roman, you don't know s*** about how people really feel. Unless you are them, you have no clue. You're going to cause more trouble, and likely ruin your friendship with her if you say anything. First, because you set her up with him when you knew how he was, and second, it looks petty. I'm sure she can make her own choices. Let it be is my opinion.

ahh but the bad karma only shows up when you lie about things.......sticking ones nose in for a worthy cause will never bring on bad karma...... Since you appear to be schooled in bad karma.. Karma bites you in the ass when you stick your nose where it doesn't belong.. Maybe Joe's feelings have changed for her. Roman has no business running his mouth.. although I'm sure that wont stop him.

Can you explain why Clinton is in your top 3, I would really like to know your reasoning behind this. BECUASE I think he did a good job handeling the country for 8 yeats and he is one of the few presidents that didnt have a major promblem under his term.....AND he I was only alive for 3 presidents so maybe thats also why I like clinton and think he did a good job Can someone translate for me...?

Let's say our current payroll is 55 million. Add 8%, and you're at just below 60 million. Historically, very few teams have "gotten the job done", if the job is make the playoffs, let alone win the World Series, at that salary level. I can't get on ESPN (damn firewall! ) to look. But if 1 team has done it.. it can be done! C'mon.. let me have my dreams.. it's all I have left!!

The players raises are a part of the payroll. If that number is taken up by raises that doesn't bother me, as long as our payroll total increases to reflect the added burden passed onto the fans. And aren't the concessions based on contracts awarded to the concessionaires? So in other words if they have increased costs, they have to deal with it, just as if they have increased profits they get to keep those also? Parking has already become a fixed cost as you said in another thread that is now a fixed long term cost, because of a contract for that also. I wouldn't be surprised if security is also contracted out. As revenues go up.. cost goes up - that sounds kinda condescending, but I don't mean it to be . The more cars to park.. the more people needed to direct those cars. The more people to sell beer and hot dogs to, the more people to pay to do so.. etc, etc.. While I'm sure there are contracts in place.. I'm sure they have clauses. And I'm sure they get paid no matter what. The Sox wouldn't make s*** if the service wasn't there. I have not heard anything about any further increases - to the fans. I feel confident that we wont. But a 5% to 8% increase dedicated to player salaries - which is what it sounds like to me - unfortunately seems in line with the performance. One more thing.. Sox insurance (liability), for obvious reasons, hit the roof this year. Corg might be able to shed some additional light on that, but knowing how those premiums effect LOC's, It would not surprise me if that put a minor dent in avaliable cash as well.

It will possibly be a 5% to 8% payroll increase. You forget that with the increases in the fans comes the additional cost of vendors, parking attendants, concessions, security, etc, etc... And like I mentioned previous.. Colon got paid, Koch got paid, etc, etc.. I'd be ok with an 8% raise. Teams with lesser payrolls have gotten the job done.

I'm getting it all over the place. I just smile and say "Oh really? Great for them!" Leaves them dumbfounded that you aren't irked that they made it. That seems to piss them off more since they can't razz me about it. Really.. I don't care. I just have no interest in baseball unless the Sox are playing. Even with SF in it.. I gave my congrats to the guys and if they make it to the WS, I'll go. But I'm not making plans to go out and watch the games. Nor will I watch them on TV. The next baseball game I watch - unless something gets interesting - will be the WS.
