  1. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jan 18, 2007 -> 01:51 PM) I already addressed this, but just because they're 5-0 in the conference doesn't mean they are the best team, in fact far from it. 4 of their 5 ACC wins came against teams that already had 6 losses, and Maryland has 3 of their 4 losses in conference, plus that win came at home. The combined ACC record of the teams they beat is 6-14. Their early conference schedule has been extremely forgiving. Until they beat UNC, Duke, Georgia Tech, Clemson, or Virginia Tech, that record means very little. "But if it comes from Boston it must be the best..duh" love, Chris Berman and the espn staff.
  2. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jan 18, 2007 -> 12:08 PM) What did ESPN do you to you? not enough time.
  3. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jan 18, 2007 -> 11:37 AM) You're saying I'm bias for talking about a Boston College basketball team that's undefeated in arguably the best basketball conference in the country. A Patriots team a win away from the 4th Super Bowl in the last six years. A Red Sox team whose been a contender all of my life. It's hard not to be bias about those three, lets talk about the Celtics or Bruins and our conversation will be different. Back on topic. Something else that's a shame is that while other schools cover this nonsense up, Boston College never has, and while I think it's a classy move on the schools part, other recruits pondering committing may find it as a negative.. or atleast the parents. I've sat with his mother, I've talked to her on a couple of occassions, I can't imagine how heartbroken she must be. Everybody believed in Sean, everybody wanted him to succeed, and he just never could. While it's sad for Sean, it's even more said for McClain. He doesn't have the same guidance, won't be given the same help or any help at all. I just hope he isn't murdered or apart of something similar in the not so distant future. Has anybody ever heard the Andrew Bryant story? Nutz. BOOHOO he broke the rules and now hes gone, make it a nice life lesson.
  4. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jan 18, 2007 -> 11:15 AM) Williams won't even sniff the first round after this and to be honest he doesn't deserve it. He thought he could get by failing the tests and that BC wouldn't do anything about it. Well that wasn't the case and it's a complete shame he couldn't just stop smoking. People speculated that he was high for some of the games and if he wasn't it was because his high went away before the game started. Pretty much a sun up to sun down smoker. What a shame. They are a middle of the pack team without Sean Williams slash nobody to replace him. You can't keep relying on Jared Dudley for all forty minutes as he's done in the past because he's been playing hurt. I don't want to say it's the season but it doesn't look good. Perhaps they can ride these 5 games, go .500 the rest of the way in the ACC and sneak into the tournament. Still, what could have been... Talk to me about the Celtics or Bruins. Don't be stupid. I dont understand, and nor do i really care
  5. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jan 18, 2007 -> 10:26 AM) They still had more than enough talent to avoid losing by 14 to Vermont, and unless the whole starting lineup was out with the flu there's no excuse for losing to Duquesne, they're awful. And they don't exactly have wins over Florida and Oklahoma State to counteract those losses like Kansas does, and BC has 2 more to go with it with a fairly weak schedule. That 5-0 start in ACC play isn't exactly the greatest evidence either, outside of Maryland those wins are over NC State, Wake Forest, Virginia, and Miami, which all have at least 6 losses. Have you watched Tyrus play? Williams is no stiff, but he's not quite on the same level. That's really not the case, otherwise he'd be projected to go much higher in the draft. MAYBE he slides into the lottery, but that's still a long way from being an NBA star, and regardless of what happens he's about the #5 post player at absolute best. It's really hard to say where BC falls because they've really only played 2 good teams all year: one the loss to Kansas and the other a win at home against a somewhat schizoprenic Maryland team. The vast majority of their tough games lie in front of them, so I don't think you can conclusively say that they're the best or even close. I would say they're definitively worse than Carolina, and probably fall somewhere in the next group with Duke, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech and Clemson. I'd personally say they're 3rd out of that group, maybe 4th or even 5th, though it's hard to be definitive without seeing them play head to head. Duke, Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech have definitely accomplished more so far, and Clemson is comparable. Red and White.. even more bias than me.
  6. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 18, 2007 -> 09:30 AM) Hope they are ready for hurricane Urlacher!!!!!!!!!!! wow that was lame. Is it bad to call them the fighting katrinas....
  7. I really feel for the tragedy in New Orleans, but give me an F'in break and stop playing that card. Its been a year and a half since, and im a f'in american either way. ESPN and its bias and gut wrenching perspective piss me the f off.
  8. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 11:42 PM) Come on now, I know your pissed off, but that's going a little overboard. BC is not the best team in the conference, not with a shortage of quality wins and losses to Vermont and Duqusne, and Williams is talented, but is far from a future NBA star, more like a POSSIBLE mid-first round pick before this incident, which isn't saying all that much for an athletic 6'10" guy. totally agreed
  9. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 11:36 PM) Ditto Tony very jealous
  10. QUOTE(whitesox1976 @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 11:14 PM) Sounds like she's learning that's a good start. Take it in slow steps she'll catch on. She knows enough,i want to turn her into a fan...i mean someone who knows about various teams and why things happen on the field..She knows the basics.
  11. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 11:16 PM) It's a big break for everyone in the ACC. Boston College was arguably the best team in that conference with a sober Williams and McClain. f***ing can't believe this s***.. How f***ing stupid can you f***ing be? A future NBA star loses his eligibility for a couple joints? f***ing moron.. god damnit BC was quite easy for us, with half our team puking on the bench with stomach flu.
  12. QUOTE(Brian @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 09:36 PM) Played like Kansas in March Not for long... Heads I told you ISU is not that good, they had their "superbowl" with Kansas in town.
  13. Is there a book out there that would teach my Girlfriend about baseball, i mean the true essence of baseball?
  14. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 09:18 PM) We just got our asses handed to us by Evansville. This is the worst f***in defensive effort this team has ever had. This loss is completely unf***inacceptable. Piss poor f***in performance, f*** f*** f*** f*** f*** f*** f***. I'm going to go f***in run into a wall the rest of the night. f*** SIU lol
  15. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 17, 2007 -> 11:33 AM) I haven't watched a game that has taken place at Gallagher-Iba Arena since two years ago....and I didn't think enough to pay attention to it last night, but it always used to be that old Big 8 games and some Big 12 games had to use a really annoying somewhat overhead angle to watch the game. Jimbo can vouch for me. Jimbo got your back, and ESPN sucks at their camera angles. ESPN sucks at everything.
  16. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Jan 16, 2007 -> 08:57 PM) Way to step up Bulin.... try nhl thead.
  17. QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Jan 16, 2007 -> 06:10 PM) What the hell does that even mean? When a starter goes 80 minutes without scoring he sucks.
  18. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jan 16, 2007 -> 04:37 PM) Yeah, you're right, he only scored 19 last night. Last night, like many other they just rock at the Fieldhouse. He went 80 minute without scoring a point before that, that sucks.
  19. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jan 16, 2007 -> 11:58 AM) Hannah dropped the ball in the last play against U of I and stumbled with his dribble forcing Lawrence in a tough spot when he got the ball from Hannah. I hate to be happy with moral victories but Mizzou got one last night. After last season it's hard to actually be disappointed with just about anything. The funny thing is I was telling my friend that Hannah, Lawrence (Matt), and Brown haven't had good games at the same time yet this year. They did last night and the team almost won at Kansas so I can't complain. The whole team returns next year basically so they can learn from these last second losses (Ill, Iowa St, Kansas). I like Mike Anderson alot, and your bringin in his nephew from Vanderbilt. How I hope to have mizzou, kstate and iowa state get better. I love winning and all ,but i would lvoe a competitive north again. Matt Lawrence is crap, hes a set shot guy. I love hannah, i guess Bruce Weber lost that one too haha.
  20. Shoulder, he got shot in the freaking throat. He is long gone. I want to see who the hell these bluetooth guys are for good.
  21. ESPN is setting up the live broadcast as we speak. They are going to tell Steve Phillips to just stand there for 2 years.
  22. Crede does not want to drop the devil as an agent, too bad.
  23. QUOTE(bmags @ Jan 16, 2007 -> 10:13 AM) ahh damn we were so close. Stefhon hannah with the ball in his hands in clutch situations looks a lot like batman running with the bomb over his head in the first batman movie. I dont get that illustration, i wanted to take Robinson out and beat him, why are you making a pass way down court with less than 10 seconds left? I think Sherron will be starting in no time.
