  1. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 9, 2008 -> 11:38 PM) How are a lot of people in Cuba able to watch the game? I couldn't watch tonight's game and I bought the Extra Innings package. Illegal satellite dishes if I recall.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 9, 2008 -> 09:51 PM) This is one of those terrible nights of baseball that I can only hope doesn't happen often. I'd have to say this counts as one of those 60 games. Nothing working.
  3. QUOTE (north side chi sox fan @ Apr 9, 2008 -> 10:30 PM) Anderson in right field? He replaced Dye
  4. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 9, 2008 -> 09:18 PM) Has Masset been punished enough, Ozzie? It's only the 6th. He has to get out of the inning.
  5. QUOTE (north side chi sox fan @ Apr 9, 2008 -> 09:17 PM) Masset with 60+ pitches I thought you were joking, but he's actually at 66 pitches
  6. Tigers look like they are about to win finally. Up 6-2 in the 8th. Boston is awful right now.
  7. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Apr 9, 2008 -> 08:45 PM) I agree with that... and wasn't he considered a SP prospect at one point? Maybe he can do that at some point. On the other hand, there's certainly an advantage in coming into the game when the other team is up big. I know the Cleveland game ended up being close but I still think the other team has a tendency to letdown after getting a big lead. With these 3 at the back end, Masset could get a lot of work this season if he can be solid.
  8. Boy I thought my night was going to suck when Extra Innings didn't have the game. Suddenly my mind has changed.
  9. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 8, 2008 -> 11:18 PM) I don't think their rotation is this bad. Dontrelle looks absolute awful, but I like Verlander, I think Bonderman's still solid, and Rogers and Robertson should be middle and end of the rotation starters. If Dontrelle remembers how or if he can just put up respectable numbers, the rotation will be fine. And, quite frankly, when Zumaya and Rodney get back, they have two solid pieces in the pen, and building a bullpen on the fly is honestly not that hard. That Tigers team last year had some guys have career years...Polanco and Maggs for sure...but I don't think Granderson's game is suddenly going to get worse any time soon, Renteria is a pretty solid damn hitter, and they have one of the best hitters in the game in Miguel Cabrera replacing one of the worst last year in Brandon Inge. I still like their lineup...cuz, you know, they aren't exactly counting on Erstad and Pods to be good offensively for them. I don't see their lineup finishing anywhere near the middle of the pack...I still see it as a top 5 offense. But, I also don't see it being nearly as good as advertised (best ever? no chance) I'll agree with you on the offense. The problem is that bullpen. You are assuming Rodney and Zumaya come back and stay healthy. Rodney should have been back, but he got hurt again, and Zumaya is nowhere to be seen. If these guys don't come back soon where are they going to get pen pieces? Nobody is going to make a deal this early for quality arms. I read Jon Rauch at Motown Sports is a possibility. Is that the answer in the AL? I think it's more difficult to build a pen at the beginning of a season than you suggest. The offense should mask the bullpen problems when they wake up, but until then, the hole is going to get worse.
  10. The point the article is making is that if Crede is moved for rotation depth, the Sox will be in first place in September.
  11. Happy endings all around.
  12. I'm going with Carlos Lee (this is almost definitely wrong). I know PK played third that season, but I'm not sure about opening day.
  13. When the bullpen pitches well, any manager looks good. I've always liked Ozzie, but he has done some mind boggling things since he has been here.
  14. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 05:32 PM) I love Stoney. "You've been in the league 10 minutes son. Get back up." Haha, that's awesome
  15. Thome walks. I don't know how with the strikes that are getting called.
  16. Cabrera flies out to right. 1 down. Thome just needs to go deep.
  17. QUOTE (Princess Dye @ Apr 7, 2008 -> 06:05 PM) I was the one who told Boers & Bernsie to look for the tape that had Offman calling Orton a splendid "gay manager" instead of "game manager." Well maybe i was one of many. Well that was funny.
  18. Swish with a line shot to 3rd. 3 out. 1 more stranded.
  19. Swish...uh...you might have to hack at that high strike. It's been called all game.
