  1. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 10:11 PM) you people need to relax... we are down 1 run with our offense and how we have done vs closers this season we definitely have a chance. We need to make it to the bottom of the inning that way.
  2. I'm betting on a homerun by the Twins to dash all hope. I said earlier Hunter would hit one if the Sox get within one, but I don't know who's batting.
  3. How does Pods help anything? Give me Pablo.
  4. QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 09:15 PM) Possibly anyone but Konerko would've had a shot to beat that out...... Most guys would have caused him to throw the ball away by rushing the throw.
  5. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 09:09 PM) But they're also playing much better baseball than the Tigers are right now. Are you mad son? We can't live without Mackowiak's bat! There's no need for a DH. This is a national league style team anyway.
  6. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 09:06 PM) I almost want Santna to stay in this game.... Yeah, their bullpen is scary.
  7. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 09:04 PM) And then we'll bring in a bad reliever when it's 6-3 in the top of the 9th, and he'll give up another homer to Hunter. However, the Twins still have their closer come into the game, and we go down silently. If Hunter hits a homer in the 9th it'll be when the Sox come back and are down 1...so I doubt any of this will happen.
  8. Well that's more like it. Give it right back.
  9. I like that DJ keeps mentioning how lefties are better against Santana...yet Ozzie won't play AJ.
  10. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 08:40 PM) I'm so f***ing sick of the comments in the media that go like this: "This isn't a big series. No matter what, our season won't be decided when the series is over". Nice pull approach that inning. It sucks when it seems that the players don't care and we keep subjecting ourselves to watching them play.
  11. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 08:34 PM) If there is any hope, Santana isn't his best tonight. I think we said that last time.
  12. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 08:33 PM) If Hawk is questioning the White Sox intensity level, you know there's a huge problem. I also don't hear Hawk say how Ozzie will figure everything out anymore. I guess he saves it for when the Sox have a comfortable lead. All season he told us that Ozzie won't let them lose intensity. Hawk lied.
  13. QUOTE(Brian @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 08:30 PM) Yeah, it would be better if we were 5 out. I'll wait til after the TB and KC series coming up. Twins are hot, we're not. It's really strange at this point to say that the Sox should be concentrating on Detroit, but with the way the Twins are playing, it'll be interesting to see the Tigers can hold them off.
  14. QUOTE(GOD @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 08:26 PM) The savoir is coming in I'm trying to absorb what GOD just said.
  15. Another fastball down the middle with 2 strikes. There's some real bad pitch calling tonight.
  16. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 08:22 PM) 4-1, give it right f***ing back. Shocking isn't it?
  17. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 08:20 PM) Sandy....for big power hitters, please stop calling for fastballs down the f***ing plate. I doubt he or AJ are calling for pitches down the middle.
  18. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 08:13 PM) Well, clearly you have to move 1 guy. Garcia or Buehrle are the obvious choices due to contracts, and I think everyone would like to dump Vazquez. I think the question is...what can you get for them? Think about this...if we can get a stud young pitcher for Garcia or Mark through some means, that would still give us 5 good starting pitchers even if we moved 2 guys. The ideal situation of course would be for Vazquez to grow some balls and either turn himself into a decent pitcher for us or to just give him some trading value in the offseason, but I just can't see that happening. That would be great, but why would any team give up a major league ready stud for any of these guys?
  19. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 26, 2006 -> 08:07 PM) Current Jon Garland + Mark Buehrle every year except 2006 + Jose Contreras from July 05-May 06 + Brandon McCarthy = one of the top starting rotations in baseball. These guys are still not "5.00 ERA" pitchers. The problem that KW will face this winter is the question of whether this season was an aberation or a sign of things to come. If he does nothing and things get worse then he'll catch hell. But I don't know what he can do except give BMAC a chance and leave the rest alone.
