  1. QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 02:52 PM) Has the "fake to third go to first" ever worked? There was a pitcher on the Sox who did it against the Cubs. Was that Sean Lowe?
  2. QUOTE(iguchi=dank @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 02:48 PM) Man the commercial break music on mlb.tv is growing on me everytime I hear it.. I'm in a beautiful trance everytime. I love it I hate it, but I know it will be stuck in my head in a couple days.
  3. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 02:35 PM) Oh, I know. I was agreeing with you. I'm just amazed at all the criticism the offense still gets when the clear reason we're underachieving is the starting pitchers. Oh. Then...good.
  4. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 02:29 PM) When will people understand that our offense is not the problem... It's a joke on account of PK grounding into 19 double plays. I didn't say that was causing the Sox to be bad right now. It's also a joke on Dusty Baker and his comments regarding OBP. It's layered.
  5. QUOTE(Maverick0984 @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 02:27 PM) oh wait, they do! whether it's thome or dye Yeah, Thome's high OBP is clogging up the bases for PK.
  6. QUOTE(lukeman89 @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 02:25 PM) i bet my dad 5 dollars that paulie would hit into a DP i made 5 bucks. paulie = '06 rally killer. hes grounded into 19 double plays this year He's also hitting .350 with RISP. So that means, the 3 hitter shouldn't take walks or get base hits.
  7. QUOTE(Chisoxrd5 @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 02:14 PM) Mark gives up hits so quickly Its hard to keep track of whats going on. So at what point do these games fit the 'fun bad' category..any B&B fans will know what I'm talking about. After September 10. Until then I have hope because of the schedules. After that...
  8. QUOTE(Cuck the Fubs @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 12:49 PM) How can steriod, and HGH help you in golf?? You don't need to be massive to drive a ball 400 yards No, but it helps. The equalizer in golf is around the greens. Distance doesn't win tournaments and that's all that matters in golf.
  9. Actually that AJ swing was an "Oh Shoot" swing. By the time he started that swing the ball was almost in the glove. He had to swing hard to try to catch up to it. That was my take on it.
  10. Looking at the schedules for these 3 teams, this is make up time for the Sox. The Tigers and Twins each play the Yankees and each other through Sept. 10. Meanwhile, the Sox play the D-Rays, Royals, Red Sox, and Indians. The Sox can be their bad selves and still win a bunch of games. The problem is that after Sept. 10, the Sox have the hardest schedule of the 3 including facing the A's and Angels out west and facing both the Tigers and Twins. By Sept. 10, if the Sox play decent, they can capitalize off their schedule and take advantage of playing the teams ahead of them. But they need to get wins starting today. All this will be for naught if the Sox can't make up ground.
  11. QUOTE(GreatScott82 @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 11:36 AM) Possitives: JD is awesome! Where would we be without this guy!? The offense seems to still have it. But how come they only seem to light it up when were trailing? They need to have that same hungry mentality when they are winning or tied as well. This team is usually trailing early. Then they get a lead. Then the pitchers blow the lead or give up whatever runs the offense just got. The offense is the ONLY reason this team has any shot whatsoever and it doesn't look like things will change.
  12. If he does, it means very good things will be happening for this team. Unfortunately I have to take the under.
  13. After this season is over, and the World Series ends, KW will start making moves, and all of a sudden everyone's gloom will lift and once again we will all believe that 2007 is our year. Just like every other year.

QUOTE(Rooftop Shots @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 12:27 AM) 1) A duck's quack doesn't echo, and no one knows why. I believe Mythbusters found this to be false. A giraffe's neck has the same number of vertebrea as a human's neck: 6 (I think)
  15. QUOTE(premo @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 12:14 AM) To me, putting McCarthy in the rotation and Vasquez in the pen makes perfect sense. I think he would actually be dominant coming in as a setup man. The problem is the Vazquez gives you 5 solid innings every outting at least before he tanks. The other guys don't even give that much. While he makes sense in the pen because of his stuff, it doesn't necessarily help the rotation. Meanwhile putting anyone else in the pen probably hurts the pen.
  16. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 27, 2006 -> 12:07 AM) I have so much admiration for the heart and hustle Hunter is playing with right now. You can tell he's nowhere near 100 pct out there, but he's the most intense guy on the field and in the dugout. That's the difference between wanting to win and playing to win. The Sox want to win, but they don't want to put in the full effort to win. They blame umpires and whatever else to justify losing it seems. Meanwhile there are the Twins, hustling out every play and forcing the game instead of waiting for the game to come to them.
