  1. I was there! I was in the left field bleachers. Party on!
  2. I know this is being discussed in other threads but today is the deadline isn't it? When do we hear if Frank Thomas will be with the white sox in '06?
  3. QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 29, 2005 -> 05:17 PM) Ignore your friend and his atrocious spelling, punctuation and grammar, think about last Wednesday and smile. You guys are right. It just pisses me off to see someone trample all over our success. It is an act of hubris I tell you.
  4. I have a Mac, is there anyway you can make one in quicktime format? If you can't its alright.
  5. Cub fans are so jealous of our success they go on about stupid excuses. My friend typed this up in his blog. What should I say back? Any suggestions? Top Ten Reasons Why the White Sox Still Suck? 1. They can't speak english 2. Sox belong on my feet 3. They need to go out of this country for talent 4. They didn't play against the angels best pitcher, for long,: roberto colon(injured) 5. They didn't play against, for long, Roger Clemens(injured) 6. The Red Sox best pitcher in game 1 of the playoffs in round one was matt clement, he sucks. 7. Minute Maid park roof was open, so Astros got screwed. 8. A.J. Persinski ran to first when he shouldnt of and got the call. 9. They got lucky. 10. CUBS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ______ I should tell him its spelled Pierzynski
  6. World Series notebook: Guillen not happy with Baker ESPN.com news services Cubs' manager Dusty Baker isn't showing much hometown-love and that's got White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen upset. Before the postseason began, Baker was asked by ESPN The Magazine who he would be rooting for in the playoffs. "I got no one to root for," Baker said. "I sure as heck ain't rooting for the White Sox or Cardinals. But maybe Atlanta since they've won all those divisions but only one championship. The Angels just won it against me, so forget them. Anyway, fishing season starts in November. That's my time." Guillen, who usually heaps praise on crosstown peer, was perplexed by the comments. "Dusty, I don't like what he said," Guillen told the Chicago Sun-Times. "I thought we were friends." "That's OK, we'll see [which team] owns the town now," Guillen told the paper. Dusty isn't saying much now.
  7. HELL YEAH I STAYED UP, ITS THE WORLD SERIES!
  8. it would be better if the dinosaur had Carl's shirt instead on konerko. But I give you props for find that man. LOL GO T-REX!!! HIT A HOMER!!!
  9. no he was on espn radio in game 2 talking with jon rooney and ed farmer
  10. You know I got sick of the fox broadcasters so I muted my television and turned on my reciever/surround sound system to ESPN 1000 and listened to Jon Rooney and Ed Farmer give the play by play. To my surprise there was no delay really and it seemed to be timed perfectly. I don't know how it will work now since they are playing in Houston. But it was cool hearing Hawk in the radio both during the 7th inning.
  11. Well seeing that our series with the Astros is at minute maid now what do you guys think should they play with the dome or not. Seeing that the Astros have a better record with it, but we have the better record in away games. What do you think about MLB's decision not to allow them to have it. Astros feel that the MLB never cared to make a decision during the course of the season so why now. Sorry don't know how to create polls.
  12. Watching the Late Show with David Letterman He showed a picture of Joe Crede making a diving catch calling him Jim Crede, oh and of course he had to point out the color socks he was wearing which were black while making a reference to our teams name.
  13. I was listening to the Dan Patrick show on ESPN 1000 on my way home from school. He said something along the lines of "If the white sox win the world series I wonder if they are going to put an asterick next to the record" because of all the controversial calls. :finger
  14. I think Paulie's gone. I hate to say it but after reading that one article with Konerko's dad saying hes gonna test the market he's going especially with this great season hes been having of course hes gonna leave because it means more $. I know either Boston or the Angels will want to sign him but if Paulie's gone and is not in the line-up I could see Kenny and Reinsdorf fighting to keep Frank on the team. Paulie right now is our main power hitter, if we lose both were going to have to find people to fill that void.
  15. Ok I understand that its the world series but for cops to check people for tickets seems a little weird to me. _________ Officials plan 'security bubble' around Cellular Field Associated Press CHICAGO -- Officials will establish a "security bubble" around U.S. Cellular Field for the World Series this weekend, dispatch thousands of police officers, search vehicles and crack down on everything from ticket scalping to illegal parking businesses. "While there is no credible indication that the World Series is a target for a terrorist act, we must plan accordingly," Chicago Police Superintendent Philip Cline said Thursday. "That's why we have brought in our federal partners from the FBI, ATF, Secret Service and U.S. Marshals to assist us." The multimillion dollar effort includes a no-fly zone over U.S. Cellular Field before, during and after Saturday and Sunday's games. It also calls for authorities to monitor security cameras already in the community and cameras in mobile police vehicles stationed near the park. Fans driving to U.S. Cellular Field must show police their tickets to get into the "bubble," which extends about a block on every side of the stadium, said Neil Sullivan, deputy director for Homeland Security and Emergency Management. "If you are on foot, you will be checked," Sullivan said. "If you are a fan and you have a ticket, you need your ticket with you." City and team officials want to avoid a repeat of embarrassing security moments, both on and off the field, in recent Chicago sports history. Thousands of people were arrested during rioting that followed the Chicago Bulls' six straight NBA championships. In 1992, after the team's second title, more than 340 businesses were looted, several fires were started and cabs were overturned in violence that caused nearly $10 million in damages. In September 2002 a shirtless father and his teenage son ran onto the field in the ninth inning of a White Sox game and attacked Kansas City Royals first base coach Tom Gamboa, punching and kicking him. Seven months later, a man ran onto the field during a White Sox game against the Royals and tried to tackle umpire Laz Diaz. Cline doesn't anticipate any such trouble. His police department is used to coordinating security for large events such as the World Cup and baseball's All-Star game without any problems, he said. Inside the ballpark, security guards -- all off-duty Chicago and state police officers -- are positioned at both ends of each dugout, in the bullpens and elsewhere on the field during games. "We feel like we have the best security in the world," White Sox vice president of communications Scott Reifert said. Carlos Rodriguez has lived and worked near the ballpark for four years. The 22-year-old said the neighborhood's atmosphere during the playoffs was upbeat and happy. "It's great, everyone was in a party mood and we never had any incidents," he said. "It was just a party long overdue." Officials also warned that the city would deploy workers from various departments to crack down on illegal ticket scalpers, people operating illegal parking garages and those selling merchandise without proper authorization. Dan Mullin, a spokesman for Major League Baseball security, warned fans not to purchase tickets from scalpers outside the stadium, saying that major events such as the World Series draw a large number of scalpers. Some of them, he said, sell counterfeit tickets, the quality of which is improving.
  16. Ticketmaster had tickets on sale at 4 today. I tried getting tickets I had it where it said i could search for 4 tickets but after typing in the words for security it said my password was invalid or something like that to access the tickets. Ticketmaster sucks!
  17. Anyone get screwed by ticketmaster again because I did. My Dad bought season tickets for next year and hasn't heard anything as of yet for his World Series tickets.
  18. QUOTE(Mercy! @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 04:43 AM) I find it a little hard to believe that Daley would give the okay in this post 9/11 era to blast off the sirens when the Sox clinch the AL pennant. You know what if you think about it back in 1959 people were afraid of nuclear war. Hence "Duck and Cover." So why would it matter if it would happen in 2005 in the post 9/11 era. I understand that the nations mind set has changed. But this is just a thought.
  19. QUOTE(Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Oct 16, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) As part of the celebration, let's implode Wrigley Field!! I would be up for that.

  21. You know, I just went out a bought a jersey. I didn't care if he might get traded or leave later down the road. I guess this great season were having prompted me to get a jersey, that and I never had an official Sox jersey before. If he does leave and I'm stuck with his jersey I won't mind. I don't think A.J's going anywhere. I firmly believe that Reinsdorf and Kenny Williams won't let A.J slip way from them that easily.
  22. I think so too. I believe he is a great asset to the team. He plays the game right and reminds me a little bit of Carlton Fisk. Not because he plays catcher but just how he plays ball. He doesn't like to lose, and he has that kind of edge, that fire he brings to a game. He respects the game. I want to see him a White Sox for his entire career.
  23. Bob Sirott wrote this? The guy from Fox News? My Mom's boss is his sister. I remember an article once or I can't remember where I heard this but Bob Sirott was talking with his nephew who was a cub fan and when his nephew said that he hopes the Sox lose to the indians, Bob started to defend us.
  24. the more you head down south the closer you reach cardinal land. I went to SIU this past spring, its at the very tip of Illinois and its not that far from St. Louis. So If your not around chicago and your in the middle of corn fields your pretty much in redbird territory. I feel for you thats got to really suck.
  25. Man I know this type of stuff has been happening all season, winning late in the games but I'm still in I can't believe it thank god A.J got on base! RALLY CREDE!!!!
