  1. If people didn't like Shields the reaction to these three at the major league level would be stellar.
  2. Yeah, I can't read into that as much as you are. Sounds to me like they are aware stuff does happen down there, and they might even have an idea of non-specifics, but that sure doesn't sounds like they are involved in the actions themselves. They discuss the "culture" and "potential for corruption" not actual actions, and definitely not participating in those actions. That isn't said anywhere in there.
  3. Meaning what? MLB conspired with the Dodgers to break laws?
  4. Which is funny considering how many times I have seen Democrats blame other parties for losing elections.
  5. I see zero chance that MLB doesn't pick up after the FBI, especially if criminal charges result here. In fact I am almost positive the Wilder stuff started after the FBI started looking into what was happening in Latin America. If the Dodgers have a list of 15 guys that have broken the law, there are 100% chances that they also broke baseball rules in that process. If these involved ways of signing players in Latin America that resulted by NOT following the rules, MLB has set the precident that they were going to release those players. They did it to both Boston and Atlanta.
  6. If he didn't have trade value in '17, he isn't going to have it in '19.
  7. If someone offered something, he would have been long gone.
  8. He probably has no idea of his election until it runs on Fox.
  9. I am excited about seeing what Sosa does in the coming year. Curbelo and Delgado are the two other ones I am very interested to see what they can do coming out as HS picks. Mendick and Rivera are interesting, but a lot less exciting. More high floor/low ceiling type guys in the latter two.
  10. Avi was worth nothing in his career year in 17. After an injury filled 18 and free agency after 19, he has zero trade value.
  11. Palka and Delmonico to start with. Both have a better chance at making a contribution to the Sox in 20, than Avi does. Eloy in mid April will also need a job.
  12. It isn't about the money, it is about the roster spot. Avi isn't the future. He has no trade value. He fills a position where we need to evaluate players who might be here in 2020/21/22 etc. Avi is worth nothing to the 2019 White Sox.
