He really sounds like Yoan Moncada without seeing him for a second. if it isn't in a teacup, he isn't swinging at it. When he swings, it is at 100%.

Honestly, the more people that a player has around to talk to, the better as far as I am concerned. No one coach is going to be able to reach everyone. They could be saying exactly what needs to change, but not getting through to the player. Look at Yoan. Do you honestly think it took someone 5 months to tell him to start swinging at pitches on the fringe of the zone a little more? No way. Having a guy like big Jim around can do nothing but help.

Because the media circus for wife beaters isn't a big deal.

If this is serious, maybe. I have wanted to take the kids to a game, and they won't really care that much about how bad the team is and remember the game experience more than anything.

Who is out there buying season tickets based on incredibly vague rumors?

There is no way the Sox tore everything down and traded players with 5 years left on their deals for minor leaguers so they could be good in two years. The math doesn't even come close to working.

I am ready to sell Patrick Kane to the highest bidder and go from there.

Magic 8 ball obviously.

Wait until they miss out on both and extend Abreu.

Fwar agrees has them as pretty close to equal and Yolmer will be a fraction of the price. Defensively Yolmer has a huge advantage which in 2019 is honestly more important to me with this pitching staff. 2018 Yolmer 1.7 2017 Yolmer 2.2 2018 Moose 2.4 2017 Moose 2.1

Well the 1st part is proving more true with each game.

Nothing has changed then. They really still have no smart choice other than to finish what they started, and not halfass it.

I don't believe for a second that a TV network is waiting to see how many games this team wins in 2019. These negotiations have most likely being going on for quite a while now by the interested parties. The Sox entered this tank knowing full well that their TV deal ended at the end of this year, which means they also weren't too worried about this affecting their TV deal longer term. If they were really worried about it, they would have known two years ago that this team was still going to be mediocre to bad this year, and wouldn't have engaged in this team building strategy.
