QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 19, 2016 -> 04:43 PM) Newt Gingrich lecturing us on morals...and the hits just keep coming. What next, Rudy Guiliani or George Pataki will claim to have had an affair with Hillary? Better yet, The Clinton's lecturing people on morals.

2016 Republican Thread
QUOTE (Tony @ Oct 19, 2016 -> 02:39 PM) That's what I've never understood here either...if Marco Rubio somehow became the GOP nominee 6 months ago, would there have been this huge perceived media bias everyone seems to claim against Trump? Is Trump saying the media bias is against Republicans, or it's a bias against him? And what is the reason for this bias in the media? Why don't they want him in the White House? I know the answers to these questions, but the whole idea doesnt make sense. The perception has long been that there is a liberal bias in media. It has just been used a lot more often in the last six months.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 19, 2016 -> 01:58 PM) Wow, I don't agree with you guys at all on Buck...I think he and Smoltz have done a fine job thus far. I actually miss my old buddy Tim McCarver a bit too I don't think he is bad at what he does or anything like that, but he isn't my style for sure. Give me the excited homer any day.

QUOTE (raBBit @ Oct 19, 2016 -> 01:38 PM) No it's not. Trump is an illegitimate candidate. The only way he could become president is if some republican congressman found someone to put HRC away for lying to congress. I don't really care to learn about right wing journalists in his campaign that political lives will last a couple more weeks. HRC's Campaign is full of establishment lifetime politicians and the precedent they set is important. I heard the stat this morning that 75% of people said that there was nothing that could be said which would change their minds tonight. Honestly that sounded pretty low to me. I think even if Congress impeached Hillary Clinton tomorrow, she would never drop below 40 to 45% of the vote. Hell she may well still win. The truth is that the same thing is true of Donald Trump. The supporters will support no matter what. Those who won't, never will.

Price rising for Sale and Q
QUOTE (beautox @ Oct 19, 2016 -> 01:09 PM) I personally feel Dombrowski and soon to be Wren don't have the same investment and attachment to Moncada as their departing FO, so after his lack luster and rushed debut I think Moncada and Benintendi are on the table for Sale. Hahn's asking price was allegedly Betts++. Plus Dombrowski has a history of selling to get what he wants.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 19, 2016 -> 09:48 AM) Secrets to being a successful GM: sign, trade for good players; don't sign, trade away bad players! Secrets to winning baseball: you have a very good chance of winning if you score more runs than the other team Hmm, seems dicey.

QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 19, 2016 -> 09:11 AM) It's amazing how quickly the trib columnists start wetting their pants and fall back into their cynical sniping of the players/coaches decisions. Went from being so annoyed at the ridiculous tweets like "Lester could have chosen to join the Giants, instead he chose a chance at immortality" to now "Madden tried to get too cute, and now he needs to get smart" Kaplan's meltdown was the best of all to watch.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 19, 2016 -> 07:43 AM) What about media corporations/conglomerates? Mark Burnett, etc.? Btw, that amount is still not anywhere close if you add them all together to Adelson and the Ricketts Family. Plus, can you imagine many top female executives being on record as donating to Trump? Wouldn't exactly help their businesses in the future... What a perfect sentence to finish with as it has been proven over and over again, that donating to Clinton CAN buy influence.

2016 Democratic Thread
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Oct 18, 2016 -> 04:41 PM) Trump is the worst candidate in modern history, by far. Nobody is even close, except Goldwater in 1964. You don't see Dems complaining that McGovern, Carter, Mondale, Dukakis, Gore and Kerrey got hosed (except for the Supreme Court and State of Florida in 2000). Just like the Republicans ran some pretty flawed candidates against Clinton and Obama. Republicans have always been able to outspend Dems by a 3/2 advantage, and Citizens United gave them yet another opening but they've failed to modernize and embrace the changing demographics in America. Before Obama, their use of databases/voter information was twice as good as the Dems as well. Hence 28/40 years with Republican presidents and numerous Congresses since 1994. Wait, no one complains that Gore got hosed? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
