Saw a reference to this NY Times/Athletic article posted here last fall...but even if just 25% of what Dave Wilder asserted was true,
Better starting point. Caulfied even commented. I am just curious what is new today.

It got buried into here for some reason.

Regretting the Lost Julks
It's also followed along with him getting less regular time, so no real surprise there either.

I am just trying to understand what you are trying to say here.

It is hilarious that this is played some sort of trump card. Ooooooh you really got everyone there. Oh wait, we are still on pace for the most losses in MLB history in the modern era. Nevermind.

I was not thrilled to see the jump from AA to MLB with a guy who is going to vitally depend on pinpoint control, but it is what it is now that he is here. (well at least until Getz sends him out) When you have raw kids, you can't be surprised by how varied their bodies of work are from outing to outing.

2024 - MLB Draft Thread
Yeah, give me the guy that the Sox development history actually profiles to help, and we can sort out the rest later.

How much is a guy like Fedde worth in a trade?
This is a team being outscored by over 2 runs a game last I saw. This isn't just adding a power hitter and hoping some kids do something bad. I also think you are being WAAAAAY over crazy on the manager losing them 10 to 12 games, but then separating out also the pen as if they are separate things.

I am still not following what new is being said comparing this pst to the first one.

Am I missing something here, or is there nothing new here and this is just a rehash of 9 months ago?

2024 WNBA Thread
This is the dumbest "controversy" ever. Reese is going for the ball and got Clark upside her head. It was nothing. It's a slick small guard move. Instead of going high glass where a shot blocker can get to the ball, you hold it more out and then give it the Gervin flip at the end. Reese just couldn't get to the ball because Clark's head was in the way. It wasn't even a "hard" foul. Only two types of people have a problem with this foul. 1. Someone looking to exploit the race angle, or 2. Someone who has never played any playground or competitive basketball ever in their lives. In the 90s this would have been a play on.

Crochet preparing to be starter
I was waiting to see who would do the insecure I have been mad about this for six months bump of these threads.

He has to throw a regular fastball to get guys off of his change up. If guys know it is going to be change, they just don't swing and let it fall out of the zone.
-
6/16 Sox @ D-backs 3:10PM CT
It's not really though. Unless you have data to back it up, just looking up Erick Fedde he has had a difference of 1.6 MPH on his fastball between his best and worst starts. Garett Crochet has put up a difference of 2.2mph as well.

Nah, pintpoint control is always a thing. You can throw as hard as you want if hitters know where it is going to be. A guy like this has to make sure where it is going to be. Thorpe didn't mess around in the zone last time around, this time he did. It's not like his velocity changed from start 1 to start 2, but his location did.
-
6/16 Sox @ D-backs 3:10PM CT
That's the point. He can't mess around in the zone. Plenty of other pitchers have done with without throwing 98. You can be successful without throwing hard.

He has to be pinpoint. It isn't about velocity, it about control.

Why dude is getting a MLB paycheck that he never would have gotten with another team.
