  1. Nolan Ryan and Randy Johnson also had 100 mph fastball's to give them a little more room for error. Cotts is dependant on location because he doesn't hit 90 with his ace. Cotts seems to have good stuff, but he will be another Danny Wright if he is walking that many major league hitters.
  2. Yeah that title belongs to the California Governors Race
  3. I am going to be a dissenter and say that Neal Cotts would get pounded with the control that he has been exhibiting. In the minors you can get away with walks, in the majors walks will haunt. These guys will kill Neal Cotts if he is giving up 4 1/2 walks a game. Now if he can get down his walk totals down, he should be OK.
  4. Alomar has made our defense better, our lead off hitting better, and the people around him better. There is no question Robbie has made this team better.
  5. Well this does save Houston 4 days of the pennnant race with Rick White...
  6. It all depends on if we win this year or not. If we make it out of the first round of the playoffs, it puts a gun to JR's head to bring the core of these guys back, or bring in guys of the same caliber, or better. If we don't win the division, most of these guys won't be back for sure. If we win the division and lose in the first round, it is difficult to tell what management will do with this team.
  7. To me it looks like the guy has gotten out of his denial stage, and into self-pity.
  8. You got it LDF, sorry I wasn't a little more clear about it. It was for my softball league I got picked as one of my teams two reps. It is the first time I have made an all-star team, hence the ELo comparision.
  9. I am so excited, for the first time ever, I am an All-Star. Took me 29 1/2 years, but hey me and E-Lo took a while to mature into our all-star selves
  10. Carl Everett SUCKS in CF. If he and Aaron Rowand are hitting anywhere near each others averages, I start Rowand because he doesn't COST me runs. Everett just doesn't read balls off of the bat, and doesn't have that gutsy quality that Aaron does.
  11. There's a few that act younger... A few? You mean a few dozen right?
  12. Actually his numbers are better than I thought they would be. he has only been over the league average in ERA once, and only been over 4.36 once. The only BAD number he has is walks.
  13. I did get an answer from the KC columnist. Take it for what you will.
  14. This about made me :puke http://boards.espn.go.com/cgi/mlb/request....b_chw&id=237600
  15. The California Governors Race!!! Have people seen the slate of canditates so far? Larry Flint, Gary Coleman, Arnold Swartzenager, Gallagher??? This can't be for real! This is an absolute joke! If I was from California I would be praying for the big earthquake to spare the embarassment of the election. Geez even being from Indiana isn't as embarassing as being from Cali right now.

Yes TIEBREAKER: Sox team batting average for the series.240
  17. The Orioles lead the Twins 5-3 in the bottom of the 7th from Baltimore.
  18. Aw hell, I just noticed that I forgot to say anything about the attendance crap. Oh well, I guess if he has the balls to give me anykind of a reply, I can hammer him on that also. I can't believe clowns like him have jobs at major newspapers like that...
  19. IF he replies, I will be sure to share it...
  20. OK The more I read of this guys BS, the more it pissed me off. Here is my reply.
  21. So, I assume that when the Sox won the pennant in 1959, all the other teams died and the Sox won by forfeit, which doesn't really "count" as a win. Blowhard. Plus they didn't give Belle $13 mil, The Orioles did. The Sox gave him $11 mil. Loiaza a luckier pick up than Lima? Give me a f***ing break? Who couldn't cut it for the Tigers and who was a front of the rotation starter in the AL East? I love the downplaying of the attendance too. They sold 18,040 IN ONE DAY. The TOTAL attendance was a touch under 45K. Oh but I guess the Royals are drawing sellouts every night... Plus the mention of Carl Everett as a clubhouse problem. What do they think Lima was when he was in Detroit? And wasn't this the same team that had traded for Juan Gonalez? (only to have Gonzalez reject them later) Reading this guy is like listening to Rush Limbaugh, fact challenged and one sided...
  22. Are you kidding? I don't know about the picking and choosing part, but the fact that he is about the only writer in town who will tell it like it is when it comes to the Daley Family Mafia makes him a welcome change IMO. This administraition is so crooked and no one saids a damn thing about it, except for Kass.
  23. Oh he didn't mention the fact that NO TEAM HAS EVER lost 100 games and won their division next year? Once again it brings to mind the old saying there are 3 kinds of lies... Lies, Damned Lies, and Stats.
