If you need to get rid of all star tickets.... j-k
-
Cotts knows how to pitch. He moves the ball in and out, up and down. He keeps hitters off balance and is good at coming up with a big pitch in a great location to get the strikeout. A negative of all the strikeouts is he goes deep into counts with most hitters, giving him a higher pitch count than most pitchers. His longest outing this year has been 6 2/3. Most of his outings have been in teh 5 or 6 inning range. When he finds a way to go deeper into games without losing the edge he has (even if that means a few less strikeouts), he could be quite dangerous down the road. He needs to learn the Kip Wells and Jon Garland thing, it sounds like. TRUST YOUR STUFF!

That pitch was further outside than the one Bonds got away with, I don't blame him for being pissed off. That sucked.
-
Nice signature, what are you like two years old? Like I said before when you can't beat em, smother em with 4 letter words. Way to prove that you can hold an intelligent conversation.

Funny...I love double standards. You and I both have booed Sammy Sosa all throughout his career. Who cares how he played, he is getting booes from myself and sox fans. Yet it is not ok to boo jsg if you are a dev's fan, after a long fought bitter series? :fyou hypocrits If it was Sosa I would boo because I can't stand the guy. But if we played a WS against a nonrival (such as anaheim and NJ are) I would applaud the guy who got the MVP. He deserved it.

Playing sweet home chicago after white sox victories...oh be a little more predictable. Wow, since moving here I have always thought Eastcoasters were full of themselves...now I can see midwesterners have that natural scorn towards the East. Oh, how frustrating it is to be stuck in the middle. A chicago boy, stuck in NJ...shed a tear for me. No, now here is something for all you haters hatin' on Jersey. JOISEY WOCKS! TALK TO ME WHEN YOU WIN 3 STANLEY CUPS IN 9 YEARS! :finger hata's As a blackhawks fan, I will probably never be able to talk to you again.

And I will say this in defense of KW, his little moves are the ones that seem to pay off huge. Picking up little deals like Olivo, Jimenez, Marte, Loiaza, Gordon, etc are the backbone of our team.

I think I just got called old? At least it looks like I got put in the smart peoples category though

NEVER look at what offensive numbers a hitter puts up in Colorado. They are a joke. That is like me comparing my softball #'s to major leaguers. -
Yeah sorry man, green is sarcasm. Didn't even think that you didn't know that.
-
Grace is washed up. He is done after this year, if the DBacks don't release him before hand.
-
Magglio is the man. He goes about his business like a true professional.
-
lol. Wow, now you are going to read Pauly's mind? I guess he put some Machevavellian plot together to over throw the evil Thomas empire and his weapons of clubhouse destruction. But according to you all Frank has to do is look at his numbers and say "I have earned the right to do whatever I want to, the UN will surely have to back me." To use stats to justify how one handles himself in the clubhouse is wrong. How you hit has nothing to do with anything else, other than how you preform between the lines. That is it.
-
All i care about is whether i like the movies. f*** those idiots. Movies are supposed to be enjoyed, not analyzed. So is baseball
-
I gotcha, the ends justifies the means. You realize then every person who uses Frank's field numbers to justify his clubhouse behavior, loses all rights to every criticize anything that Sammy Sosa ever does. Because basically it is the exact same arguement. Sammy has earned the right to be an asshole way more than Frank ever has because he has bigger offensive numbers.
-
A-f***ING-MEN. You guys have already forgotten about Frank's first day of spring training tirade where he ripped apart Manuel, Williams, and Konerko? Konerko he ripped over something that he thought had been settled in July of the previous year! It was only 3 1/2 months ago. Well I guess you are half right Frank didn't call him out because he wasn't playing well, he called him out because of something that was almost a year old, and was supposedly already forgiven.
-
That might be the lamest arguement yet. You have the right to suck if you preform well for some amount of time? My God do you see how that sounds? Frank has the right to do whatever he wants even if it hurts the team, as he did all last year, up until September, but since Konerko only has 3 good years in he doesn't. By that logic we should have brought back Harold Baines over Maggs, Jose Canseco over Carlos Lee etc., all because they have a "track record".

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/prof...le?statsId=5066 Here you go, he is hitting worse than both Borchard and Harris this year, and worse than what Rowand was doing at AAA. -
So Konerko is a hypocrate because Jerry Manuel benched him? What are you talking about? What is the connection between Manuel benching Thomas, and Konerko?

I am curious to see if the downturn in offense continues past this year. There is a definate short term reduction in runs and home runs going on right now. I don't know if this is a natural rebalancing, pitching catching up with expansion, or fall out from steroid testing or what. But if Frank keeps up and gets to 500 HR's with out turning into a Jose Canseco type player, he should get in. Espesially if the downturn in offense turns out to be a trend and not just a blip on the radar.
-
This was on Baseball America's site. It sounds like not a big deal at all if he is only on the 7 day DL. The interesting part was his pitch speed. If this guy is averaging 13.5 K's per 9 IP with a fastball that doesn't break 90, he must have some incredible movement on his stuff. Even more so than I ever imagined.
-
If they give us Brian Giles too....sure, why the hell not? I for one do not want to trade for that s***bag Lofton and give up a lot of talent in the process, because Pittsburgh will look for a lot if they do in fact deal Lofton. Small salary, good numbers, last year of contract...they're not going to deal him for a bag of balls. They'd probably ask for Rauch and then some for Lofton. I am not trading Rauch, who could be a pretty good starter some day, for Lofton, who would be a rent-a-player. And to answer my question from above....no, we are not going to get Brian Giles. Rauch for Lofton? Lol. Who do they think they are, Billy Beane

Lots of good trade talk in here
