Go ahead and leave the old PTC threads up there, that way people can look back and see what picks that they have already made. I have been leaving them there for that reason.

Heck that game early in April when Frank got hit again, and our bench was empty before the first guy from KC even set foot on the field.

Both Comiskeys, both Arlington's the old one sucked, the new one is OK, the Astrodome incredible size, really cool back then, now would be totally outclassed Minute Maid Park in HOU Incredible place to see a game, I loved it Busch Stadium in STL I was disappointed it was just a cookie cutter stadium with a couple extras, Tiger Stadium scary neighborhood and a classic stadium either you love em or hate em, Comerica Park some really good things like the brick walls and statuesand some really stupid stuff like the Ferris Wheel, and the SkyDome in TOR, cool place. I even took the full tour of the place and got to see them switching from baseball to football. Ah I forgot Jacob's Field

I am way in the lead to win a bet with my buddy who was an Indians fan. I bet him that their attendace would be under 25K a night. Right now they are at just over 19K http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=clev...ov=st&type=lgns If they keep it up the Sox might draw more fans then the Indians. I got so sick of hearing how great Indians fans were during the 90's, after no one went to games when they stunk. Now they suck again, and their attendance has fallen by 50% in two years. What a bunch of bandwagoners.

http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=ap-i...ov=ap&type=lgns And it should have happened after the series that the Indians were here for when he misplayed two balls in CF and then jogged after them.

Remember that worldwide baseball draft that appeared so imminent in the hours before the new labor deal was sealed last August? Uh, never mind -- at least for now. As the labor agreement was going down, owners and players agreed on the concept for numerous changes in the draft. They just couldn't figure out the sticky details. So they decided to hold off for a year and let a new committee figure it all out. Well, with the June draft just a few weeks away, zippo has been resolved. In fact, the committee has had precisely one meeting -- last week. And members were told, according to baseball sources, that if they couldn't get this mess worked out before this draft, baseball would just stick with the current system until the next labor deal. However, another member of the committee says no deadlines whatsoever have been established, and that the committee plans to meet twice a month for the next few months "and we'll see where that takes us." But even if the goal is now to get a new system worked out by the 2004 draft, massive complications remain. "They can't even agree on how many rounds the draft should be," says one source. "Is it going to be 20 rounds, or 32, or 48? They can't even agree on that. So I don't think there's much chance of them agreeing on the hard stuff." The worldwide draft has proved to be such a logistical nightmare that, as much as some baseball people love it in theory, they have no idea how to make it work. It's so difficult to determine such basic information as accurate names and ages in some countries that teams stand a good chance of not even knowing whom they're drafting. But even some of the other, simpler issues that were supposed to be reworked -- letting teams trade picks, eliminating compensation picks for lost free agents -- are still hanging. So can all this be figured out in three weeks? "No shot," says one baseball man. And what are the odds of it ever being figured out? Not a whole lot better.

I think Radke is pitching the openning game tonight, isn't he? http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news?slug=cita...tadel&type=lgns

Amen, Zach! Preach it! Dang Apu, I figured you'd be a Ruben fan for sure!

http://www.startribune.com/stories/509/3879347.html Contract bidding problems. Meh, they should call Rich Daley and get some tips on how to get contracts to your friends and family.

lets go low ball and say $20.00 a ticket for 12,000 at full prive - that is $240,000. 50,000 at $1 is $50,000. Which beats the heck out of the other? and: Monday is half price Tuesday is Pepsi $1 day Thursday is $1 hotdog Sunday kids get in for $1 if yoiu sign your kids up for Silver and Black Pack ($25) you get a gift and 6 free tickets to a game But you aren't adding in extra parking revenue, more suveniers, more concessions etc. I have a feeling that it would end up being a winner for the 50K people.

But I don't think we have a guy with a glass elbow who just threw 262 pitches in two outings.
-
IMO, yes. It was a 95 mph fastball at the shoulder blades. I don't think he sucks that bad!
-
If they are smart we will never know who decided to do it. Everyone just needs to be quiet and act like it was an accident.

When did he go? I was there 92-96. There weren't too many people from the region and from Chicago. Plus there were only 1000 of us there, I probably at least knew who he was.

Bev- I went to a small liberal arts school named Manchester College. Where did you buddy go? Grace? Huntington?

It is the truth. They were all packing in last night in the parking lot by gate 4. They were all pretty excited. I know a lot of people flying there, too. If it weren't for having to help with the pool and the deck this weekend I would have gone too! Cool sounds like the brawls will be in the stands and on the field this time around, lol!

Like I said if you would have told me that out of Buehrle and Loiaza one would be 7-1 with an era of about 2, and one would be 2-6 with an era of just under 4, I would have bet my life on who was who!

Thanks for the kind words on what I wrote, and yes, I have been described as humorless lately. But by vocation and personality, I tend to always want to focus on what is real. Not much of a ranter, I guess. Sorry. Humorless

For some reason all I can think of is in the South Park movie when Saddam does his "I can change" song and dance...

I don't think their O lasts, and their pen is still iffy. But that starting pitching just makes ya drool!

I will say this, his technique at the plate looks like vintage Frank. You can always tell when he is over swinging because he front hip flies open and everything goes high and at the LF foul pole. Now he is keeping close and everything is going to CF and RCF. Hopefully he keeps doing whatever he corrected because it is right!
