I know there is a lot of discussion about this that references Carlos Rodon, but let's not forget that Dylan Cease just made a similar leap and seemingly did it pretty flawlessly. Rodon gets more attention because of his higher achievements plus his fall off at the last month of the season, but Cease had just up a big ramp up.

That's an oddly specific period of time. Why 2.5 months? The season doesn't start for 5 months. Spring training starts in about 3+. Why 2.5 months?

I was 21 after the 1994 strike, and I didn't go to another game until something like 1998 or 1999. Typically this ramps up as we get to the deadlines. It will get very noisy here after Thanksgiving.

Look I get that Leury hit a big homer in the playoffs and had a fairly decent season, but let's not forget his history. He's got a pretty good history of missing periods of time due to injury, and even in his career year, he put up an OPS+ of 96. He's a great tool to have off of the bench, but if he is a starer for you, you are already looking to replace him and upgrade.
