  1. So the same guy who managed a sell off, tear down rebuild going from 99 losses, to back to back playoff appearances, can't plan. Honestly it would have been nice if Hahn had been able to finish his plan with his own manager instead of having a decades old "mistake" thrust upon him.
  2. It's also big time revisionist history to pretend that outside of Liam, the pen hadn't been a dumpster fire during the time leading up to the deadline, and also that Heuer really got better with the Cubs.
  3. I like the fact he has pitched four full seasons so far. Bucking the trend of a lot of pitchers he was MUCH better in the 2nd half vs the 1st half, and was basically in line with where he was in 2019 and 20. I wonder if he was hurt or something?
  4. I wonder if a Castillo for Vaughn deal could be a focal point of a larger deal.
  5. YOu can't trade someone who signs a QO until something like mid season.
  6. Not to mention the simple fact that in the games where he has to go to the DL because he hurt himself, his OPS is .000.
  7. Personally I like the freedom of an IRA vs the limited options in a 401k, but that depends a lot on how savvy of an investor you are. If you are someone who can handle options beyond a few pre-picked funds, that is a check mark for an IRA. If you aren't well read in this area, shove it into your 401k and pick the closest thing you can to an SP500 index fund.
  8. If the Sox thought Rodon was NOT going to take the QO, there is zero reason to not offer him. They obviously thought he would take it, and that he wouldn't be worth it in 2022, which should be a red flag.
  9. The testing with the pre-tacked baseballs in AFL has my attention. I have to imagine they work out some middle ground here, which can do nothing but help a guy centered around extreme control and picking at the edges of the strike zone.
  10. June 20 is when the inspections started Pre June 20 Jun 20 and later
  11. Is this your first Rick Hahn press conference?
  12. And seven years of injury history is a better reason to believe it won't.
  13. Which he has done once in 7 years.
  14. Or that a lack of tack in the 2nd half of the season when he fell apart was the problem.
  15. IP by year. 139.1 165 69.1 120.2 34.2 7.2 132.2 FIP by year 3.87 4.01 4.69 4.95 3.62 4.89 2.65 If you spend money QO money on Carlos Rodon, you are paying him for both a career performance AND to be able to pitch 30 starts. He has literally never pitched 30 times in one season, ever. The closest he came was 2016. This year he made it out there 24 times. His history should absolutely be indicative of his expectations.
  16. Yet, should be trusted to keep Rodon healthy when it's pretty much never happened.
  17. Again, even if you bring Rodon back, you are probably still short of Rodon's 21 production in 22.
  18. Didn't the same happen last year?
  19. Here's the thing that most aren't talking about... Carlos Rodon probably won't give you 2021 Carlos Rodon production in 2022. Even if they brought him back, they probably aren't getting that level of production again. Also I may well be fuzzy, but this doesn't stop the White Sox from signing him to a different deal.
