I think that is a gross simplification of the idea that goal #1 should be to have as much of this team healthy and rested as possible by the time the playoffs get here. HFA would be great, but if you destroy players while doing it, it does you no good. Carlos Rodon is a great example of that. Guys like Dylan Cease, Crochet and Kopech are in similar situations. Dallas has his most IP already since 2018. Then you look at the offense with major injury recoveries for a large chunk of the line up, plus nagging injuries for others. When you see people say they "don't care", this is what they are talking about. If you give up 5 games, but get into the post season with guys more than on fumes, it is worth it to me.

I am more confident of winning on the road than I am of winning because key guys are hurt and/or extremely fatigued but with home field advantage.
