  1. I heard this as well. According to their stats, Rowand was the #1 ranked defensive center fielder in the MLB. Podsednik was the #2 ranked defensive left fielder in the entire MLB, tied with Carl Crawford. Dye was just under the average MLB right fielder. This stat doesn't take into account throwing runners out though.
  2. I guess Crede could be at SoxFest now that he's signed.
  3. Someone has it in their sig. I believe Crede isn't a free agent until after the 2008 season so the Sox still have rights to him for 2007 and 2008.
  4. The Whiff of Collusion Comes, and Goes http://www.nytimes.com/2006/01/17/sports/b...hass.ready.html Pretty interesting read.
  5. White Sox agree to terms on one-year contract with third baseman Joe Crede http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...t=.jsp&c_id=cws
  6. According to WSCR 670 The Score's latest scoreboard update. I believe the guy said 1-year, $2.675 million. Our roster contains no more arbitration-eligible players so barring trades, our roster is complete.
  7. I may have to go for MLB 2K6 instead just because it will have the MLB license.
  8. Teixeira agrees to $15.4 million, two-year deal with Rangers http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/news;_ylt=AqFl...ov=ap&type=lgns If the Rangers were able to avoid arbitration with Teixeira/Boras, I would hope that we will be able to avoid arbitration with Crede/Boras.
  9. Cameron is also a much better basestealer than Hunter. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that Hunter makes a ton of "flashy" defensive plays like Jim Edmonds. Vazquez has had four good seasons in his career. So far, Garland has had only one really good season. I think you are overrating Garland and underrating Vazquez. Vazquez needs to show that he can put up his 2000-2003 numbers again and Garland needs to show that 2005 wasn't a fluke. They are both question marks for 2006 in my opinion.
  10. Ummm, maybe because 191 of Vazquez's career 256 starts were for the lowly Expos?
  11. I obviously didn't put in the excellent statistical analysis, but I mentioned this when we first acquired Vazquez. He seems to either have great outings or he gets shellacked. If Vazquez could find some consistently with the help of Cooper, he could be the stud he was with the Expos.
  12. I thought that the Cubs' official slogan every year is "WAIT TILL NEXT YEAR!"
  13. Williams would probably put up better numbers than Maddux and Rusch. Hendry is so stupid that he wants Rusch as the 5th starter over Williams. But Williams will probably be in the rotation until Wood gets healthy, oh wait, I guess Williams will be in the rotation the entire season.
  14. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2294346
  15. Prior would have cost Contreras and quite a few prospects.
  16. I wonder if this rumor was before or after the Vazquez trade. Did KW still want Prior AFTER acquiring Vazquez?
  17. So did Thome have to purchase #25 from Borchard?
  18. Draft a TE in the 1st round, a CB in the 2nd round, and OL in the rest of the rounds, maybe draft another WR in there. Sign Antwaan Randle El.
  19. You can still be a great player and choke in big games.
  20. Agreed on Tillman and Briggs. But as far as the rest of your post... WTF?!? Urlacher was one of the only guys to show up.
  21. I meant statistically in the regular season. I'd take Maddux over El Duque for the regular season. Maddux at least stays healthy and pitches decently. El Duque is clutch in the playoffs though.
