  1. 1B Lyle Overbay 3B Troy Glaus DH Shea Hillenbrand Eric Hinske will play some LF against righties and also back up 1B and 3B.
  2. The ironic thing is that Wolfe was a Twins prospect before joining the Brewers last year. And Corey Koskie >>>>> Tony Batista.
  3. Well, I don't know how good his sources are. I was referring to his Sam Smith-esque trade scenarios. That 4-team trade he proposed involving the White Sox, Red Sox, Cubs, and Orioles was insane.
  4. But one's actually a good player and one's a bum. And I'm going with the Brewers to win the N.L. Central or Wild Card next season. They should dominate the division for years to come.
  5. I buy that newspapers actually may have some sources, but not always. But it's hard for me to buy the fact that some guy I have never even heard of has sources. But then again, Phil Rogers does come up with some crazy bulls*** trade scenarios. I agree with you there. It goes along with people not wanting certain trade rumors to be true because they don't want the Sox acquiring so-and-so player.
  6. I guess there's really nothing to argue. This guy may actually have good sources or he may just be making stuff up. None of us can really know for certain unless you are friends with this guy. Some people will believe that he has sources and some won't.
  7. "Look for an announcement by Friday about Tejada" means exactly that. And it didn't happen. I'm reading it properly.
  8. I don't think I've ever seen a trade rumor at Rotoworld in which they didn't also list a link to the newspaper they found it at or the actual source. And I check Rotoworld A LOT. They also post rumors from guys like Bruce Levine and other radio sources.
  9. If you piece the excerpts together, he basically states that his rock-solid source told him to look for an announcement by Friday about Tejada no matter what team trades for him. Obviously, that didn't happen. Although he still has an hour of central time for a Tejada trade to go through.

  11. Rotoworld mainly uses a RSS News Feeds script to obtain written rumors and news from various online newspapers.
  12. The point is that anyone with zero sources could just make up a website and spout the very same BS. We don't know for sure that his site has decent rumors just like you can't know for sure that his rumors have some validity to them. There's nothing wrong with discussing these rumors but I also don't see anything wrong with laughing at them as well. Also, Ozzie was great last year but not everything he did should have been free from criticism. He did stick with Marte for far too long. I agree. The site could be valid or it could be total BS. None of us can know for certain so I don't see a problem with believing either way.

  14. My favorite... http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2006/01/white_sox_invol.html Isn't Tejada still on the Orioles? DOH! And that info was supposedly from a "a rock-solid source" of his.

  16. Hmmm, I thought he was close to being an Oriole...
  17. Looks like we could have the upper hand in our offer for Tejada... There's no way the Orioles would give up Tejada and Markakis for Manny and Clement and still add all of that salary to their payroll. Contreras, Uribe, and prospect(s) could get it done.
  18. I like Widger and it's too late to get Olivo now but check out Olivo's career splits versus lefties... http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/7028/s...er&type=Batting career vs. Left: .910 OPS career vs. Right: .569 OPS He would have truly made the perfect platoon partner for Pierzynski.
  19. Defensively, I agree. Uribe is fun to watch on the field. But I'd rather watch Tejada bat third and destroy balls than hope that Uribe returns to his 2004 offensive form.
  20. Apparently, which means there's all the more reason for KW to trade Contreras if he doesn't think that he will be able to re-sign Jose to a reasonable contract extension.
  21. I meant more along the lines that high draft picks don't always lead to top prospects. You can still draft busts like Jeff Liefer, Bobby Seay, Jason Dellaero, Jason Stumm, Joe Borchard, and Kris Honel with high draft picks. Obtaining "proven" top prospects from another team is different than trying to draft good players with high draft picks.
