The beginning of November. You don't think Rowand has a chance, do you? They only pick guys with good offensive numbers. Vernon Wells will win it again anyways.

Well, they don't just have Pujols. They have an all-around better offense than the Astros. They also play better fundamental baseball. But the ALDS and ALCS have shown us that our pitchers can shut down good hitters. I guess I'd have to agree with you then.
Right now, the Cardinals have all the momentum but they still have to face Oswalt and Clemens. If the Cardinals can force a Game 7, I would have to go with them.
Before tonight's game, the Astros were 81-1 when leading after 8 innings this season. The only game the Astros lost was the save that Lidge blew against the Cubs in the last series of the season between the two teams.
Why would Bagwell need to throw if he was DH'ing?
I agree with you. It's a toss-up on who we should want to face. On one hand, the Cardinals play fundamental baseball and have Pujols. On the other hand, the Astros have the big three of Clemens, Oswalt, and Pettitte.
None of our pitchers finished with 119 pitches and they were also already into the 9th with more than a 1-run lead. The risk was far smaller for our pitchers than for Carpenter pitching with a high pitch count in the 7th inning with only a 1-run lead.
