  1. The Sox will stick with the guy who's locked up the longest. Guaranteed.
  2. Trust me, I'd rather have Garcia than Garland as well but the Sox will be better off selling high. Garcia will have the better season but he will only have one year left until free agency. Couple that with his declining fastball and he makes the most sense to trade. Trading Garland after an awful season wouldn't make much sense.
  3. I still think we are going to trade Garcia next offseason to free up a spot for McCarthy, probably for pitching prospect(s). Garcia will likely have the better season, he is considered more of a dominating pitcher than Garland, and he will only have one year left under contract. The Sox will use the money freed up by trading Garcia on an extension for Buehrle. 2007 Rotation: Buehrle Contreras Vazquez McCarthy Garland I disagree. Not with a 6.25 ERA.
  4. They all had good seasons right before they signed their new contracts. Garland is having an awful season right before he would have been a free agent had the Sox not locked him up. Your comparison makes no sense.
  5. 6.25 ERA? Not the way he is pitching now. No way.
  6. I don't have a problem with the deal as long as Garland can put up an ERA in the mid 4's for the next 3 seasons. But even that looks like a stretch for him the way he is currently pitching.
  7. Wasn't Garland still under the Sox arbitration control for 2006 anyways? I thought that he wouldn't have been a free agent until next offseason? He sure wouldn't be getting as much money as he did from the Sox on the free agent market next offseason the way he is pitching now.
  8. Garland, Uribe, and prospect(s) for Miguel Tejada sure would have been sweet this past offseason if possible.
  9. Danny Wright (2002 stats): 33 starts 14-12 record 5.18 ERA 89 ERA+ 1.38 WHIP What a freaking stud.
  10. To quote a wise poster here... "Juan is just trying to corkscrew himself all the way to China."
  11. Agreed, but this thread is about Anderson. Uribe should be seeing a lot more bench time than he currently is.
  12. Garland's problem was giving up too many flyballs today. He's a damn sinkerballer, not Eric Milton.
  13. Been wondering this for awhile. Uribe - leg kick =
  14. Some of the pitches Anderson swings at make me want to puke. I really hope that Anderson pans and that Chris Young doesn't turn into the next Eric Davis.
  15. I would love to swing a trade for 2004 Shawn Estes (15-8 record, 5.84 ERA, 1.62 WHIP, .291 BAA) 15 WINS!!!
  16. Hmmm... well, we are lacking in clutch hits and one-handed grabs. :puke
  17. There was a hint though -- Ramirez took his eyes off the ball and looked at Neifi Perez with a confused look on his face for a couple seconds. I thought Ramirez was going to drop it while the ball was still in the air.
  18. Carl Crawford would be a lot more valuable if he played really good defense in CF. As a left fielder... meh.
  19. I would sooner bet on Freddy Garcia and Josh Fields being on other teams in 2007.
  20. You haven't seen enough of him then.
  21. Yep, and Ozuna is even worse out there. Podsednik is in LF for a reason boys and girls... I know he isn't very good defensively in CF but, wow... Rob Mackowiak (2006 stats): 93 AB .280 AVG .374 OBP .409 SLG .783 OPS 2 HR 9 RBI 12 BB 18 SO
  22. I hope so. Then we can trade him for a haul of players next offseason.
  23. Steve Finley, Darin Erstad, or Juan Pierre? Worst.thread.evar. Except for the fact that Ozuna is absolutely clueless in the outfield.
