I think they will use Thornton for mop-up duties only and Logan as the true LOOGY. Thornton is obviously bad against both righties and lefties, but he's actually worse against lefties.

Anderson looks like he has pretty good speed. Why the heck didn't he steal more bases in the minors? Bad technique or did he just not try to? I know he's been caught stealing a few times this spring.

Not exactly the photo of Thornton that I want to see -- frustration after giving up 5 runs or so.

Whomever said that this guy could end up being our best pitching prospect by the end of the year was right. He looks like he has the best stuff of any of our guys.

Yeah, maybe we could have gotten Felix Heredia for him then.

I just want to see the Sox face a Mariners lineup with Jeremy Reed, Carl Everett, and Joe Borchard in it. That would be fun.

Agreed, hopefully there will be some decent relievers for us to claim when teams make their cuts.

It wasn't a good trade. It was simply a lateral move -- one team's trash for another team's trash. But Thornton gives us a microscopic twinkle of hope that Cooper could turn him around into a decent reliever to help replace the loss of Hermanson in our bullpen, our main area of weakness.

Good fastball, good slider, but has trouble throwing strikes -- sounds like a much worse version of Vizcaino.

I like his bat. His glove at 3rd looks atrocious though.

The price of just decent relievers is probably through the roof right now. I don't see us getting anyone good -- maybe another team's mediocre cast-offs when they make their roster cuts. Agreed. Draft good hitters and good baseball players, not toolsy athletes.

I agree with you to some extent. Javier Lopez started out with a few scoreless innings before he got shellacked. I would like to see a few more strikeouts from Daniel Boone.

He is just awful period, but especially at PBP. I never thought I would hear worse PBP than Farmer's but Singleton has accomplished the feat. Sleepy Singleton is putting me to sleep.
