  2. Ozzie likes him... http://chicagosports.chicagotribune.com/sp...tesox-headlines
  3. Oh, I didn't know that about Kip Wells. I knew Ian Snell could start but I thought that they liked him as a reliever. That makes sense. Their rotation actually looks better to me than the Cubs rotation with Prior, Wood, and Miller all on the DL. This is how the Flubs have their rotation set up right now... Carlos Zambrano Glendon Rusch Greg Maddux Jerome Williams Rich Hill / Angel Guzman / Jae Kuk Ryu ??? That's pretty sad. I agree that the Pirates should try to acquire Arroyo instead of Clement. Arroyo has a really cheap contract and Clement has been a headcase ever since he took that linedrive off of his noggin. I think his mental focus is shot now. The sad thing is that the Pirates originally had Arroyo but placed him on waivers in 2003 and Boston claimed him.
  4. Iguchi is earning peanuts the next two seasons ($2.4 million this season, $3.25 million team option for 2007). He wouldn't even be worth trading considering the offensive production he can provide for our team. People must forget when we had Willie Harris and a washed-up Robbie Alomar starting at 2nd base. :puke We finally have our first good 2nd baseman since Ray Durham (whom we traded for the trash known as Jon Adkins, by the way). Let's not mess with a good thing.
  5. http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/06078/672914.stm Wow, I'm impressed that the Pirates are actually trying to contend. They already have some talented, young pitchers -- Zach Duke, Oliver Perez, and Paul Maholm. Their rotation wouldn't be that bad if they added Clement or Arroyo. Zach Duke Matt Clement / Bronson Arroyo Oliver Perez Kip Wells Paul Maholm Not bad for the Pirates.
  6. That too. They basically replaced Ugueth Urbina and Billy Wagner with Arthur Rhodes and Tom Gordon. Not exactly an improvement.
  7. I don't see the Phillies trading away any of their bullpen arms. That was an area of weakness for them last year and they have tried to improve it this offseason. They will probably wait for a guy like Luis Terrero of the Diamondbacks to be placed on waivers or trade a bag of balls for him.
  8. Agreed, and I think it will be a right-hander.
  9. "Get off my field you piece of s***!!!" *hides face in shame*
  10. But his name is Felix Hernandez, not Rodriguez.

  14. LOL, that's just sad. For cripe's sakes, he was there doing the game.
  15. He will steal the heart of every woman in Chicago who loves bald men, which seems like a lot of women since they all love Konerko.
  16. It's nice though. I'd like to see Logan K a few more batters but our infield defense is very conducive to a guy who can induce a lot of groundouts. I'd rather see a guy throwing strikes and making the batter put the ball in play than watch a guy like Marte walk batter after batter.
  17. Sorry, now I get it. I thought that he meant "clubhouse leader" like what Konerko is.
  18. I blame Burnett for being Carrie Woods Part 2.
  19. He looked great on the singles and bad on his strikeout. When he hit the singles he was just looking to put the ball into play. He wasn't over-swinging. He made an error in RF when a ball bounced off of his glove but it was supposedly very windy at the park today. 33 AB / .333 AVG / .361 OBP / .576 SLG / .937 OPS / 2 HR / 7 RBI GO BORCHIE! Raise that trade value.
  20. Yeah, there's no way a rookie out of Single A ball is a clubhouse leader. Well, maybe compared to Marte...
  21. He was impressive once again today, although facing Cubs minor leaguers. But he has a funky delivery and throws pretty hard for a somewhat sidearmer. He throws a lot of strikes. He pitched an inning today and induced a groundout, weak lineout, and struck out the last batter he faced. Surprisingly, he has a really good shot of making the roster if he keeps pitching the way he is. Javier Lopez is giving up too many hits (especially to lefties) and Armando Almanza just plain sucks.
