  1. We were stopped by police at 37th and Normal and told to go to IIT. I knew there was NO way the cash lots were full at 4:30pm so we ignored their directions and jogged down a block to 38th. From there, we were directed into the 1/2 full Lot F. I think the traffic cops were directing people to IIT to clear up traffic. Thank god for most games I'll have a parking pass for the north lots.
  2. I think Stadium Club memberships are sold out for the season. According to the Sox website (https://secure.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/cws/ticketing/groups/patio_party.jsp), the patio is $40 per person plus you can buy your game ticket for 1/2 price. I've never been to either so can't judge which is better.
  3. QUOTE(SAVVY18 @ Jan 28, 2006 -> 02:03 AM) And the signage was terrible. I had no idea that there was a bunch of stuff going on downstairs. We just happened to wander down and saw all of that stuff. How about a map telling you what was in each place. Yes they gave you a sheet that said player X would be on stage 3, but where the hell is stage 3? There was a map of both floors on the same sheet that listed where the players would be signing. Definitely less fun this year than years past due to the insane crowd. And I'd rather be in line with "creepy" or "geeky" adults than giggling, annoying young girls who make it seem like all female baseball fans are only fans because the players are "hot."
  4. I suggest parking at Millenium Park garage, which is only 1 1/2 blocks south of the Hyatt and is half the price - something like $13-16 dollars for 24 hours. To get there from I-90, exit at Washington and head east, turn left/north on Michigan, right/east on Randolph which is the next light (this is the point where Randolph becomes 2-way), head down the hill in the center two lanes to go to lower Randolph, turn right on Columbus and the garage entrance is right around the corner. That's where I've parked all 4 years I've gone to Sox Fest.
  5. Randolph is one-way westbound through the loop. You can exit 90 at Washington, take that for a few blocks, turn left on Wacker after you cross the river, and follow it along the river all the way to the Hyatt (and Mich Ave). The Sheraton is right across the river from the Hyatt. I have friends who just got a room there for the weekend.
  6. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 07:24 PM) What the hell is even the point in buying these seats? Where could you put them in your house that they wouldnt look out of place... not 2 mention it isnt like they are super comfortable either. After the 2003 season, season ticket holders were given the chance to buy the seats that were part of the removed upper deck rows. Demand was much higher than expected so they ran out, but wrote down names/emails for everyone in line that day. Believe it or not, when seats were removed last off season to make room for the scout seats, the Sox actually emailed to ask if we still wanted seats --we got 2 for $20 or $30 each. Where did we put them? In the sports bar addition we put on our house. And everyone who sees the room loves the seats.
  7. Believe it or not, Grandstand was selling them Saturday - the cashier said they'd been given permission to sell them early. They had a bunch available...
  8. Anyone hear about Reebok Sox WS shoes? My mother-in-law read about it in the paper (probably Southtown). Don't know where they are available or what quantity.
  9. Thanks NorthSideSox72. Apparently you lucked out with Brad because our rep has yet to return any calls. After 40 minutes on hold, we were offered section 154 or section 540. Not the greatest (we had 536 in 2003), but I feel lucky to be able to get these tickets. BTW - we went with 154, row 15, seats 1-2.
  10. NorthSideSox72 - how long were you on hold? Twice now my husband has been on hold for 30 minutes and has had to hang up due to meetings. We put our deposit down before the regular season ended and had hoped to select our seats before the plans were made available in general. Hopefully one of these days we'll get through!
  11. My vote is for one they included in the highlights video, I believe from the Halfway to St. Patrick's Day game - Konerko coming in to score from 2nd with Rowand right behind him, slowing down so as not to pass Paulie.
  12. First post - sorry it's of such a negative tone, but I'm fired up. I understand the whole "building a better team" argument, but disenchanting your primary fan base is a big risk. I can't afford, in time or money, season tickets every year. In years that I haven't purchased a split season plan, I've gone to 10-15 games a year. 2006 is (was?) supposed to be the year for me to buy a split plan again. Several weeks ago, I put a deposit down on the weekend plan but am not able to choose seats until after the season. At this point, I am sure I will get horrible seats because all of the good lower deck seats are going to the faux-Sox fans who want to see a WS and to scalpers who are using this as a way to make money off of WS tickets. In fact, a friend who had 2 full season tickets in Section 144 this year decided to upgrade last night to 4 seats...and ended up in Section 114. Doesn't bode well for the rest of us peons who can only afford a split plan. (PS - Fox this morning said there are about 2000-3000 tickets left per game, unless season ticket plans continue to sell this morning)
