"We called in EOD to blow it and then raided the house where the wire led back to. Nobody was home except for a dog ( which we shot ) so we turned the place upside down. The command wire led to a breaker switch. We took video of it and then destroyed it with our shotgun. After that, we exfilled the area and returned to base." This disturbed me a bit.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ May 6, 2007 -> 08:13 PM) Slavko, I might be boxing someone about your height relatively soon but he's about 220. Dunno how much you weigh. He's two inches shorter than you. We should get together and work on some things. I need a model around your height. I weight 207. If it's a boxing match, then stay closed and use your speed to pick your punches. If it's a fight, kick his knee in and wail away. But don't do that, cuz that just sucks.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 6, 2007 -> 07:46 PM) Then don't go on and on and on about how you're gonna massacre him if your plan the whole time was to backpedal. You have to understand, people were paying both of these guys tons of money to publicize the fight. The only reason for the pre-match BS was because of publicity and getting people interested. What do you want him to say? "Well, Mr. De la Hoya, I plan to use my defensive tactics to make you flail away at me while I circle around the ring and pick the right time to punch you." Of course not. People want to hear him say he was going to f*** him up and that he's a pussy, etc. It's all a ploy for publicity and money. That is obvious. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ May 6, 2007 -> 07:48 PM) I disagree. PBF couldn't even get adjusted to being in the corner. Reason why he got out was because once DLH got him in the strike zone, he didn't swing more than half the time. That should've been the moment he fkd up Mayweather, but again, he didn't use his jab as much as he should've which didn't allow him to combo. Then he got tired in the latter rounds and he really didn't throw any punches until the 12th. PBF did look youthful and fast, but he was still feeling sting on the punches he was receiving. You also shouldn't be surprised at how defensive he was. He's a complete technician and his whole style predicates on his defense. He doesn't have knockout type power, even when he's throwing haymakers, especially when he is facing a guy like Oscar. That's why I threw down 300 bucks that the fight would go all 12 rounds. Easiest bet of the night. My main thing is that I can't believe people think De la Hoya won. A draw, possibly. But the fact that De la Hoya had numerous rounds with less than 10 connections is just amazing. And it proves that Mayweather's speed and defensive tactics were just too much.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ May 6, 2007 -> 07:23 PM) I actually like Mayweather. Always hated De La Hoya because my father loved him and I always thought he was a puss. De La Hoya had punches that hurt and was rocking Mayweather's head back a couple of times, something Mayweather didn't do the whooooooole fight which pissed me off. He's so damn speedy and De La Hoya would get him in the corner. PBF would get out of it, but he wouldn't punch as soon as he did. As soon as he escaped he should've caught DLH with hooks to the face. The one time DLH look like he was sort of stunned, it was cas his knee bailed out on him at the end of the 11th (PBF never punched him). PBF won rounds 1,7,10,11,12 IMO. Two of the judges had him losing the 12th, which surprised me big time. If PBF fought the whole fight like he did in the 1st and 12th, it would've made him a winner. It should've been a draw if nothing else. I hope both of them fight next time and they actually decide to box. DLH looked good with the jab, but used it seldom which didn't allow him to set up any combos other than body shots. PBF did jack s*** to entertain me. I was looking forward to the "razzle, dazzle ass whooping" he said he would put on on 24/7. Sadly it never showed up. Even if DLH had kept with the jab, he wouldn't have won the fight. He was landing them pretty good, but I'm sure PFB would have adjusted. With his speed, he could have avoided a number of those jabs and got him with a right hook a few times. De la Hoya looked old and weak, whereas PBF looked youthful and fast. I am a bit surprised, and dissapointed, that he was so defensive all night but you have to remember, it's all about winning the fight and getting that belt. I'm sure PBF knew he probably wouldn't be able to knock De la Hoya out, so he stayed on the defensive and used him speed to pick his punches.

QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ May 6, 2007 -> 06:57 PM) Um no. Mayweather is the reason why the fight left for something to be desired. All he did was smile and backpedal the whole match, landed weak punches and won that way. I still am trying to understand how that one judge scored it 116-112 Mayweather. WTF is there to question? The fact that one judge gave De la Hoya the decision is ludicrous in itself? People came into the match thinking it was going to be some sort of all-out street fight. GMAFB. It's all about the tactics and that's how Mayweather won. De la Hoya only won 3 rounds. Just because you flail away at someone does not mean you won the round or the match. I assume you watch boxing, so you should know. And you wanna talk about weak punches? Mayweather stood there and took about 8 shots in the kidney from De la Hoya and smiled. Didn't f***ing flinch. Clearly you are a De la Hoya supporter.

Ben Gordon had 7 f***ing points? MVP! MVP! MVP! His inconsistency continues to baffle me. And people think he's the best player on the Bulls??? -
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 6, 2007 -> 12:57 AM) The crowd undoubtedly affected things. They would stand up and roar as De la Hoya landed 1 of 13 punches, retarded. I think what stood out to me most was when De la Hoya had Mayweather against the ropes in one of the 1st couple rounds and he tagged him with about 9 straight body shots. Mayweather was smiling the entire time. Crowd went nuts.

QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 6, 2007 -> 12:55 AM) I got so f***ing pissed/nervous when the first judge gave it to De la Hoya. What a bunch of s***. Yeah, I thought it was over from then. You never know, judges could be swayed by the crowd a lot. Would have been a travesty if they gave it to De la Hoya. Oh, and Mayweather's entrance was one of the best in a while.

I enjoyed the fight a lot. I couldn't believe the 1st judge gave it to De la Hoya 115-113. Mayweather pretty much dominated the fight. Oscar threw a lot of punches but had numerous rounds with less than 10 punches connected. Pretty Boy Floyd picked his shots well and got Oscar with the hook a few times. De la Hoya really only got 2 good punches in. The commentators were spot on though. When De la Hoya was using the left jab, he had Mayweather leaning back a lot and backpedaling. He went away from it and Floyd took over from there. Would have liked to see De la Hoya get knocked out, but I enjoyed the match no doubt.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ May 5, 2007 -> 05:41 PM) OT, but did any Chicagoan pre-2000 ever pay for a PPV? It must have looked mighty funny to the promoters looking at Chicago and it's 0% buyrate. They're still out there you know.
