  1. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 06:22 PM) Sweet, you are awesome Kalapse. Have they already scored? 1st and 3rd, no outs.
  2. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 06:12 PM) He just has good natural power, you don't have to be a hulking muscle bound creature to hit a s*** load of HRs, just look at Alfonso Soriano. Some players are just naturally strong despite having a more lean and cut frame. Bulk does not necessarily = power. And he may bat 1st but he's not a leadoff hitter he's basically the definition of a 3 hole hitter. Grady Sizemore is not a 'speed' player, he's a natural hitter who drives to ball to all fields. He possesses all tools, unlike a Juan Pierre or Tony Womack who would by your more prototypical speed guys. Well, he's certainly know more for his abilities to get 3B's and SB's, not HR's...thats what I meant by speed guy.
  3. Yes, give PK the 3-0 green light with this guy's control.
  4. Injuns fans boo Thome, cheer when he K's. Solid.
  5. What a slide by Erstad!!! BTW, 668 on DirecTV.
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 06:01 PM) Chris Shelton says hi. Shelton was at least a pretty big guy. Kinsler had 14 last year, Sizemore and Rollins are speed guys. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 06:06 PM) Why is Sizemore surprising? As a 23 year old last season he hit 28 but along with that he had 53 doubles. I was fully expecting 35+ from him this season. Does it really seem logical to you, that a guy with his size, a lead off hitter at that, would hit 35+ HR's. If he hits that many, and with the state of baseball at where it is right now, questions will arise about juicing.
  7. I know it's still early, but I was just looking over the MLB stats, and the HR leaders are quite surprising... A. Rodriguez - 6 J. Rollins - 5 M. Cabrera - 4 A. Dunn - 4 I. Kinsler - 4 G. Sizemore - 4 WTF? Oh, and chalk up a few more for Sizemore this weekend. Sheesh.
  8. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 13, 2007 -> 12:04 AM) True. Good luck getting anything from Glen though, the guy has gone AWOL. He was last active April 4th so...
  9. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 11:59 PM) It doesn't look like it would be all that difficult to duplicate. I haven't seen a post from Goldy in a few months. True, but there's nothing like the real McCoy.
  10. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 11:45 PM) KNOWLEDGE~! Pssh, comes with the territory.
  11. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 11:37 PM) I'd shoot Glen something and see if he has a .jpg of it. (and by Glenn I mean goldy) If you can Jas, ask him for the .psd or .png also. That would help much more in the process than a jpeg.
  12. My favorite... "You see, the South Side is in constant communication with space objects called 'satellites.' These satellites send messages to places like Europe, China, and Wilmette." I also like the handy formula for currency on the the South Side. $1 = $1
  13. QUOTE(DrunkBomber @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 09:03 PM) Pedro Martinez What!?! I love Pedro. One of my favorites of all-time.
  14. Looks like only Sunday's game might get a little wet... Cleveland, OH 5 Day Forecast
  15. QUOTE(bmags @ Apr 12, 2007 -> 03:26 PM) where do these show on? Primarily during Sox games on CSN. I've seen them at other times though too.
  16. Vicente Padilla Ronnie Belliard Bob Howry Michael Barrett Sammy Sosa Derek Jeter Torii Hunter Grady Sizemore Carlos Zambrano Francisco Rodriguez All I can think of now...in regards to Sizemore, I love the way he plays, but I f***ing hate his guts.
  17. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 01:41 AM) " There you go, OG is blind. By that, I'm hoping/assuming he means he had to go a long way to get to the ball...
  18. QUOTE(iamshack @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 01:28 AM) This is absolute oversimplification. We know NOTHING about what goes on with the members of this team personally, or behind closed doors. All I know is that he's the ONLY player who's doing ANYTHING consistently offensively right now. Yet all this entire board can talk about is his outfield defense. Jesus people, maybe if Jenks doesn't give up THREE hits in the inning, the same number as Garland did in SEVEN innings, it's not an issue. Maybe if Paul Konerko or Darrin "the savior" Erstad could get some god damned hits instead of pathetically waving at balls 8 inches off the plate when the umpire's zone is the size of a teacup, we would score more runs and win the damned game. To rest this entire BS on Scott Podsednik is just absolutely s***. Jesus, get off him already... At the same time, you can't just ignore his D either. His offense doesn't give him a waiver to knock balls off his noggin.
  19. QUOTE(southsideirish71 @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 01:23 AM) I found our problem. Ozzies magic 8 ball is broke. He shook it and asked, should I put the devil Anderson in for a defensive replacement. In a 1-0 game Slav. How many 1-0 games with a terrible OF, do you not replace him defensively. That's exactly it. I'd really like to know what Ozzie's thought process was in that situation. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 01:24 AM) Actually after i saw what Jenks had and just how terrible he looked on the mound I remember screaming for Thornton, so yeah we definitely agree on that one. It's a lot like the Cleveland game from last September, I had no problem with Ozzie going to Jenks but he needs to be ready with a contingency in the warming in the pen, if the closer looks like he's not going to be able to get anyone out he can't be afraid to make the move. This doesn't need to be done every time but when he's going to pitch Jenks on back to back days or after complaining about a sore hip, he definitely needs to have a quick hook. You can't tell me that after Jenks came back to get the next 2 guys, that you didn't think he'd be able to get out Todd Walker.
  20. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 01:18 AM) I mean this respectfully SF1, but if it wasn't obvious to Ozzie, then I don't want him managing this team. It's one game though, and if this makes him adjust his defense late in games, then maybe it will be worth it. I don't know. We seem to second guess everything he does, or doesn't do, so maybe to him, it's regular not to make defensive replacements, or make bullpen changes too often, etc. What we never seem to find out is why Ozzie does what he does.
  21. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 01:15 AM) If I did call it then why wouldn't I post about it? I had a discussion on the board this morning about the use of Anderson as a late game defensive replacement and guess what? That just happened to play a big part in tonights game. I happened to be on the right side of the argument this morning, of course I'm going to talk about it now. It only makes sense. I just don't like it when obvious moves are not made and they end up costing the team runs or games, I'm going to b**** when that happens, you should probably get used to it. Perhaps its not the obvious move to Ozzie that it is to you, or the rest of us. Did anyone catch the Post Game conference? Did Ozzie address what happened?
  22. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Apr 11, 2007 -> 01:13 AM) Use your head. Well, Pods did...
