QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 04:50 PM) :headshake :puke :puke :puke :puke :puke :puke I have no respect for Kovalev. He is a b****. I remember I was at Keiths house watching the Bruins and the Habs in the playoffs when he faked like he got slashed, gave up the puck and the B's scored to win. :fyou Kovalev Well, compare him to Carlos Lee. Lee made a BS play in shich he didn;t hustle and cost the team. Some speculate that was the main reason he was traded. Look how he turned out? I like the guy and I respect yours and Keiths opinions. If you read the rest of my post, I clearly state that I would want Naslund way more thank Kovalev... -
Isn't this called a schedule???

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 01:02 PM) I'm pretty sure he was referring to Justin.....not Jason.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 02:25 PM) [creams self] ^^^^^ Numerous times! BU-LIN WALL! BU-LIN WALL! BU-LIN WALL! -
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 03:13 PM) They dont' trade with the Cubs, the Cubs simply call players up from the Pirates and send down their s***tiest players to their AAAA affiliate in Pittsburgh. Aramis Ramirez was one of their better prospects in the last few years. He really panned out for them...

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 02:45 PM) As a former pitcher (not a good one at that), I can definately tell you there is such thing as a dead arm period. It could of just been because I sucked, but I remember going through a time where you wouldn't have the pop on your fastball (not that I really had much pop) but than you'd kind of get through it and it would come back. I'm sure it happens to big leaguers, but I consider the dead arm solely in regards to the FB, but I guess it could have an effect with your breaking pitches as well. Of course it typically happens during spring training or early in the season or thats when it seems to happen. I also think it shows up a bit later in the season. :Nods:

QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 03:04 PM) Players with cheap contracts don't pass through waivers. Players with cheap contracts don't pass through waivers. Players with cheap contracts don't pass through waivers. Players with cheap contracts don't pass through waivers. Is there some sort of hidden message here? What are you inferring?

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 02:55 PM) Here is an interesting name and i'm not sure if the Orioles would put him on waivers or not but Tim Byrdak. His ERA is in the 2's and leftys are hitting .160 off of him. Plus he is a local product. I doubt they'd want to get rid of him...

QUOTE(Finkelstein @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 02:48 PM) Here is an interesting take from the other side of this "deal"... http://www.redszone.com/forums/showthread....62&page=1&pp=20 They are pissed.

Thanks Kalapse and 2k5....all this "Put Aaron in left and Griffey in CF"is moot...
-
QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 02:43 PM) i think that he is probably past his prime. The wear and tear on his arm i pretty evident. His ERA is in the high 5's....pass. QUESTION: If Griffey was acquired, why not just put him in the 3 spot and at DH and keep the outfield intact?
-
QUOTE(Leonard Zelig @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 02:14 PM) If Reds management nixed the trade last week, why do you guys think it would go through in the future? Because we all have hard on's for Griffey???
-
I'm confused. What's going on!!!!!!!!!?!????????????

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 04:50 AM) My question is, how do you guys make them that fast? Damn. Yeah, same for me as Knighti. it took me between an hour and 1 1/2 hours. More when the sig is more elaborite or I pay more attention to detail.
-
I'm thinking this is directed towards his balls by hitting Zaun???

My late-night, early-morning effort. I suggest you wait for all 3 and choose:

You beat me to the punch Knighti....we should have a contest!!!!!!

QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 03:00 AM) Well considering its a 13 minute piece, and you posted 6 minutes after I posted it, I'm going to take a wild guess that you didnt even watch it. why will he piss blood and have tiny balls? can you please explain this to me? I was in the process of watching it. I am now 12 minutes into it. Your going to tell me that there are no effects? Look at the old guy's face. Look at his skin. The man look's like a manakin. I was shocked to hear that Alzado's death had no linkage to steroid though. It is just hard to believe the video because so many published reports are out ther and so many health books and resources are highly against steroid use. Since when is high cholesterol healthy. And I am sure that the accounts in the video are rare cases. Your gonna tell me that old guy know 2,500 people who have used steroids vigorously and he has followed all 2500 of them through their lives and knows for a fact that they are all alive and well? Bulls***. Your video and this photo are very different:

QUOTE(knightni @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 02:56 AM) You remind me a lot of Dougly. Just noticing this as well...guess who's birthday it is!?!?!?!
-
LALALALALALALA! I'M NOT LISTENING!!! Seriously though, when that guy is 60 and starts pissing blood and has tiny balls....that's all on him.
-
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 02:22 AM) Voted. Yea. Ace and Doug were brutal. LOL. Some of them still lurk and read everything you are saying....

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 3, 2005 -> 02:07 AM) We need a RW more than a LW don't we? Selanne or Kovalev would be good fits. God I love Kovalev. That rumor you posted Krush get's me really excited. But, if we were somehow able to sign Markus Naslund, I think I would have a heart attack. That guy is so f***ing awesome it isn't even funny. I'd definitely "settle" for Kovalev, Forsberg, Satan, Palffy, or one of those top tier guys but signing Naslund put this team in great position and for the true hockey fans, puts asses in the seats. Naslund/Khabibulin....would we be able to sign both??? -
Wow. I never knew Green's #'s were so good. I guess that play against the Packers last season at home really stuck in my mind. I hated Green for that. I believe it was Franks or Walker who was WIDE open in the corner of the endzone because Mike Green completely f***ed up the coverage. Oh well. Green is way better than Bobby Gray though. I'm not even going to argue that. Yes, Hunter did a good job at MLB but hoe will he fair as an OLB where he will be used in coverage, spy, and blitz formations more. I guess time will tell. To me, the numbers dont matter as much in football as they do in basketball and hockey. I believe baseball and football go way beyond the numbers. But it doesnt matter overall because I know the Bears have an absolutely solid defense and hoepfully the offense steps up this season with a healthy Rex, Mush, and Benson in the mix. IMHO, with any kind of decent offense, the Bears finish with at least a 9-7 record. It just wasn't all there for them last season. One guy I am super psyched about is Lance Briggs. The only reason he wasn't a Pro Bowler (although he was an Alternate) was because people overlooked the #'s and the play and saw the name and though "Who the hell is Lance Briggs?" This season, he will show them and he and Urlacher will be the best LB combo in the league. IMO, if we would have been able to ink Ian Gold over the offseason, Briggs/BU/Gold is by far the best LB trio in the league and even with Hunter/BU/Briggs, it is still among the top.
