  1. QUOTE(UofIChiSox @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 03:02 PM) I have a Cingular phone, and their website actually has a hawk ringtone, if they are your carrier. it'll cost you $2.49 though and charges show up on your bill. Well worth it to me. Here's the link to the website. Put it on the board ringtone. Just bought it for my phone....frickin sweeeet!
  2. QUOTE(YASNY @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 02:30 AM) If Veritek is not a leader in the Red Sox clubhouse, then the Pope is not catholic. Veritek was THE prime free agent the Red Sox retained after last season, over Lowe, Pedro and others. Exactly, now look at their pitching....
  3. QUOTE(danman31 @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 02:21 AM) It is funny but your stupid club is taking up room. My club is f***ing awesome!!!!!!
  4. Fine, quote = gone. But I listened to it and thought it was too funy. My bad...
  5. QUOTE(qwerty @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 01:51 AM) Someone's sig is too big... Text?
  6. QUOTE(UofIChiSox @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 07:38 PM) I'm pretty sure if we take away Pluto's planethood the Plutonians will get pissed off and attack. Don't mess with Pluto. ^^^^^ Not even Lee Elia could have said it better....
  7. I give him a HELL NO! 1) He lied. 2) He lied.
  8. QUOTE(GBlum## @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 01:15 AM) I've tried on Griffey...more than once. I have his 89 rookie card....
  9. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 01:05 AM) If you stick with Sox players you should probably be fine. I think the least well known players at the time (around 1996) I sent them out were Kevin Garnett and Warrick Dunn. Frankly, I don't know why I wasted my time with some of them, like MJ and Scotty, Frank, Griffey, ect. The time and money I wasted when I was younger... Well, if I;, sticking to Sox player/personell, I'm sending: Kenny Williams - 1989 Topps Mark Buehrle - 2005 Topps Chrome Ozzie Guillen - 1988 Donruss Harold Baines - 1981 Topps Rookie Question -- Anyone think AJ woudl get pissed if I sent him a 2005 Chrome Topps card with him in a Giants uni??? Also, is there any use in sending anything to Gooch???
  10. QUOTE(ZoomSlowik @ Aug 2, 2005 -> 12:51 AM) I've tried this before, sending out cards with SASE's. Trust me, your success rate is pretty low. I know a guy that used to do this all the time and his success rate was well under 10%, although it varies. You should be able to find the team addresses in the back of a sports collectibles magazine (ie Beckett, although I'm pretty sure I used Tuff Stuff). I wouldn't send it to their home address if you could get it, I would think that would piss them off. The exception would be if it is a former player that has stated he'll do it, although most of those guys will charge you. I sent out like 100 to players in various sports when I was younger. I remember getting back like 3/4 of them unsigned with aplications for their fan club or stock pictures that they send out. I never heard back from a several, and I think I only got a couple back signed. Two things that might improve your chances. First, include some kind of personalized letter with the cards. I was way too lazy to do that at the time, which probably explains some of my problems. I also only sent them out to pretty big name players. Some lesser players might supply a better and more timely response. Wow! Thanks for the great info. I woudln't even try to send a card or oic without at least a small letter. I was thinking about sending a few acrds individually to different people but using the Cell's address. Kinda like this: Harold Baines Chicago White Sox 333 W. 35th Street Chicago, IL 60616 In the envolope, I would send the card (in something protective), a letter asking for an autograph and with some background info on my fandom, and a self-addressed return-envelope. I hear about a lot of successes to Dustin Hermanson though...
  11. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 12:03 AM) Can someone change Soxtradamus to "Token Soup Boy" Thaaaaaaaaaaaaank you very much...
  12. For those who get player autographs through mail, what resources do you use to find player autographs. I remember somebody posting a site with a TON of addresses used to get autographs of current and former MLB players, but I cannot seem to find it. I am very interested in sending some cards out to players and possibly have them autographed. Any help would be appreciated, thanks...
  13. QUOTE(Da Sox @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 08:18 PM) Yo SoxfanInDallas, ur a Hom Wow. That was an dumbass post. Why would you even say that? He makes a very valid point. We are the best team so we would be last to pick someone up on waivers. If another contending team doesn't want us to get an impact player, they would do something to prevent us from getting him. WTF would you even say that for???
  14. QUOTE(illinilaw08 @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 08:19 PM) If he could ever play a full season he would be anyway. But I agree, Sweeny is a class act and one hell of a hitter. 1/2 season of Sweeney is still better thank Konerko. I dunno. Some wouldn;t like a trade of Sweeney here to the Sox or as an offseason acquisition but I would love it. He is clutch, PK is not. He is downgrade at 1B but we could just as easily put him at DH.
  15. QUOTE(tony72 @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 08:13 PM) Wow ! I wish Sweeney played for the White Sox ! Sweeney >>>>>(infinity)>>>>> Konerko
  16. Wait, I thought we went to the World Series in 69???
  17. Hmm, didn't really seem like the confrontation was long enought for Sweeney to say all that. Maybe "Nice thorwing, kid" but maybe I'm wrong...
  18. QUOTE(SpringfieldFan @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 06:12 PM) You know, we can take it to this level if you want, but you are going to have to hear about the time I when my wallet fell out of my pants at work...into the toilet...while I was sitting during a dump...and yes, I was just about finished when it happened :puke absolutely true SFF .............. :puke ................
  19. Pretty good, the Sox logo on the helmet looks JUST a bit out of place though.
  20. QUOTE(the People's Champ @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 06:11 PM) Eric Chavez is WHITE............WHEN THE HELL DID THIS HAPPEN??!?? Keiichi Yabu and Jay Payton as well. Wow, they ARE the whitests team! EDIT: WAAAAAAY LATE!

    "De-barking"...

    QUOTE(Balance @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 05:53 PM) Even if the procedure doesn't hurt, think of what's going on there. The dog will be traumatized for life! It won't know why it can't bark anymore. There's no way to make it understand. Meanwhile, every time it tries to bark, it's still forcing a lot of air up its trachea, and that's going to put a lot of strain on the holes that have been drilled there. They'll start to stretch and possibly tear. This seems like a horribly cruel thing to do to an animal. I agree. I wouldn't do it to my dog either way...
  22. QUOTE(ceffa2000 @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 05:14 PM) Verified. Kapeeesh....
  23. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Aug 1, 2005 -> 05:58 PM) Welcome to the Sox: Good to hear. Weren't the Pads a 1st place contending team until like, 4 days ago?
