QUOTE(He_Gawn @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 06:34 PM) That may be a little hard to persuade without seeing the tourney. Nice looking avatar! -
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 09:37 PM) Haha, just because it's in his cold zone doesn't mean it's unhittable. Pro is so boring. It was bulls***, plain and simple. I go back and check the guys power rating vs RHP and it's like 38!!!!!! I was and still am pissed!

I'm fed up with playing on All-Star. The sliders don't work. Bottom of the 12th, 2 out, tied 1-1. Royals vs Sox. Hermanson pitching to soome garbage ass, no name Royal infielder. Fastball down and in, his cold zone, WACK!, a 32957632457 foot HR and I lsoe the game, 2-1. f*** that bulls***. I'm playing on Pro.

QUOTE(shagar69 @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 09:23 PM) i wouldnt want this for US Cellular. If somebody wanted to name it some stupid s*** like Kerry Wood Park or Mark Prior Field, no way in hell i would let them That's exactly what I was thinking. It's like someone changing the Cell's name to "Aramis Ramirez Park" or "Corey Patterson Field" -
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 09:24 PM) Spring. Training. You still gotta try. I don't care if it's Spring Training of wiffleball in the yard with your dogs!

I say the more attendance, the merrier, even if everyday has to be dog day! J/K But seriously, 2 or 3 is nice.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 09:15 PM) Looks like RotoWorld thinks so..................... Brandon McCarthy yielded just one hit in four scoreless innings against the Rangers today. Hank Blalock doubled to become the only batter to reach base against McCarthy. With the way Jose Contreras and Orlando Hernandez have looked so far, there's a real chance the White Sox are going to need McCarthy by July, maybe sooner. I hope he succeeds but then again, I hope he doesn't make it this year because that would mean that our 5 starters are doing well. Never enough pitchers though.

QUOTE(UofIChiSox @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 09:12 PM) Click on this link, then go to the second link there labeled as "Chicago White Sox pitcher Brandon McCarthy warms up before facing the Texas Rangers in a Cactus League game at spring..." The open fly kind of jumps right out at you seeing as how it's centered and you can't even see his face. HAHAHAHAHAH!

Has Pods played any games in the last week? And what is up with AJ? 1-10???? That's like.......a...................a..............bad average!
-
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 09:10 PM) If Dubois, Patterson, and Burnitz steal more then Pods, Rowand, and Dye I will not post for a month. That's absurd. I'll not post for 6 months! :banghead

Ben Davis......yes!

That is badass! I love the coloring. BTW, how is Carl not blinded by looking up at the sun?
-
Seriously....they're everywhere. Another of my Cubs friends told me that the Cubs outfield will steal more than the Sox outfield. I replied with: "You guys have Jeromy f***ing Burnitz in RF!" and proceeded to walk away.

The scout seats will be done for sure by April 4th. I doubt the FunDamentals is done by April 4th. Green seats will be installed throughout the season.
-
How ever did you notice that?
-
A friend of mine actually wanted to bet me $50 that the Cubs would have 3 20-game winners...I thought about it for, like, 1 second, and was tempted, but then I just walked away and realized that money won THAT easily wouldn't feel right. Oh BTW, I had another discussion today with this Cub's fan. He actually told me that he thinks Arammis Ramirez is better than Albert Pujols............................never laughed harder in my life............and didn't talk to the guy the rest of the day. No lie.

QUOTE(Fotop @ Mar 10, 2005 -> 02:24 AM) Possessing great baseball knowledge is a double-edged sword, especially in Chicago with so many mindless Cub fans. On one hand, you want to shut the guy up spouting off wrong stats, terrible insight, etc. So you correct them, right? The problem is you end up either looking like a pompous, elitist baseball asshole or they completely ignore your statement and continue to "impress" their friends with their misinformed baseball knowledge. My solution: put money on things. Taking someone's money whether it be a dollar or one hundred dollars is accepted by most in society as effectively "pwning" the other person (in computer speak). At least I know that's how I get asshole cub fans to shut up...simple phrasing as "you wanna make a bet?" * Ultimately, all of these arguments are usually in bars/ballparks where one's ego prevents them from accepting the fact that they're wrong. Whether it's a girlfriend to impress, or a group of your boys, guys just won't know when they're beat and that's when the discussion turns into "my ballpark has more fans than yours, you guys suck". So ya, getting labeled an "elitist" sucks, but you should use that to your advantage...make a couple bucks off of all this knowledge you possess and maybe next time that asshole that spouts off about something he doesn't know he'll think twice about the possibility of someone around him actually knowing about the subject and hurting his wallet again. In conclusion, don't gamble because it's bad for you. However if you really want to shut up that asshole sitting next to you, having him put his money where his mouth is is a quality way of achieving your goal. Much like "bar bets", sports bets are the epitome of shutting the other person down. Plus a couple extra bucks is always good. *Note: gambling is not good for you kids, don't do it...this is my responsible message of the day. POST OF THE CENTURY!

He is so damn skinny though but I don't care if he was as thin as a piece of paper as long as he keeps pitching like he is.
-
Didn't get the watch the game until the 9th inning today. That's good that he is playing well.
-
Fields iscoming up fast. Expect him to be in the MLB this season unless Crede get's the banana out of his ass. BTW, Crede played fairly early last season with all those clutch hits. I beleive he really started slumping in the middle of the season.

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Mar 9, 2005 -> 11:27 PM) No, it's just the constant ragging on Borchard that gets tiresome. Yes, he hasn't succeeded. But, it's not like he's taken the money and run -- from all accounts, he's one of the hardest workers -- unfortunately, working hard doesn't always translate. Maybe I'm a little biased because I'm probably the only person with a Joe Borchard jersey, but I dunno -- he seems like a blue collar guy who didn't make it. Oh well, move on... s***....I'd be backing him up too if I spent $100 on that jersey!
