QUOTE(MHizzle85 @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 11:10 PM) It's all about the italian beef. Tru Dat QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 11:11 PM) I'm not an Italian Beef fan at all, but I do love those beef and cheddar croissant things. It's the croissant and cheddar though. But weren't you the guy who posted the home recipe for doing slow-cooked Italian beef brisket with gardinare peppers a year or so ago??

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 11:13 PM) All of you with avatars like that need to put names under the avatars. How the heck am I supposed to do a search with no names? Just Google "disproportional Asian-looking chick with imminent back problems" and I'm sure she'll turn up.

QUOTE(juddling @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 02:15 PM) Boy...I'd really hate to be Batboy's press agent right now!!!!!!!!! With the Musical and all, I wouldn't worry too much about old Batboy.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 7, 2007 -> 04:44 PM) Three topics with multiple posts per minute. Religion, Military, Politics. Good thing you were away, we didn't need another amoeba brained atheist running around spouting nonsense Well, if somebody would have let me know it was Light Work Tuesday I'd have been on and I'd have bought popcorn for everybody.

QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Aug 5, 2007 -> 11:26 AM) The only silver lining about this bill is that it will automatically sunset in six months. But yeah, it was a s***ty last night of session move on their behalf. Fortunately, my Rep voted against it. Republican Dave Weldon is my Rep and there was no question as to how he was going to vote. There never is. My Democratic Senator (Nelson) unfortunately also sold me out the day before and I've lost a lot of respect I had for him. His office received a call and an email expressing my displeasure - I'm sure he'll get it after the recess.

QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 4, 2007 -> 04:29 PM) Any 'Six Feet Under' fans here? I just finished the series, intense show. Outstanding show. When everyone was acting like Sopranos was the only good HBO series, Six feet Under was quietly happy to be brilliant and beautiful and funny and stunning. Folks wondered how Alan Ball was going to follow up his writing triumph on American Beauty, and this was how he did it.

I'm so pissed off at the congressional Dems in both houses that capitulated to the White House on the surveillance bills. There is now less oversight then there was before it blew up the first time - and these clowns handed it over to them. Cowards.

I actually was quite the Marshall artist at one time. Then my amp blew and I bought a Fender instead.

QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Aug 3, 2007 -> 03:00 PM) As am I. There is just no situation where it would be a good idea to take out terror targets (a few people among many innocents) with a nuke. It's sad that this even needs to be said. But in this day and age of people believing that "tactical nukes" are morally acceptable armaments, and believing that America thumbing its nose at non-proliferation I guess it has to be said.

EPA approves BP's new pollution dumping
FlaSoxxJim replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in The Filibuster
QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Aug 1, 2007 -> 01:33 PM) They already dump about 20 times as much mercury as they should into the lake with zero consequences. Ah, you beat me too it. -
EPA approves BP's new pollution dumping
FlaSoxxJim replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in The Filibuster
There has been an online petition up at Environment Illinois on this. Sounds like it may alrteady be a done deal but here's the link. https://www.environmentillinois.org/action/.../bp-epapetition Rahm Emanuel co-sponsored a resolution last week that was overwhelmingly approved by the House that condemned BP's plans to increase the pollution load. Not that it seems to have done much good but at least people are aware what's going on. Fun Fact: The Indiana BP facility is also one of only two plants that still dump mercury directly into Lake Michigan. -
QUOTE(FoxySoxGirl @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 10:48 PM) I was very happy with everything that happened in the end. It sounds evil, but I was kind of expecting a REAL main character would die in terms of either Ron or Hermoine or Harry or Ginny. Fred wasn't a huge intregal part of the story. Lupin yes, but I consider the kids to have been more of a focus. Oh well, still worth reading all 7 of them! I can't WAIT for the 7th movie to see the massive battle at Hogwarts though Starting into the book I would have put money on Ginny dying. When Fred died, the way JK wrote it focusing on an agonizing scream and then visually describing Hermione's appearance I think readers were supposed to have their hearts stop momentarily as they thought she had been killed. Mine did. And i really thought that JK had done a great job setting up that expectation because this was the first book where Hermione's intellect and knowledge base didn't put her head-and-shoulders above her peers in terms of capability and what she brought to the group.

QUOTE(Alpha Dog @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 05:42 PM) Nope. but you shouldn't be despondent when good news, however slight, shows up, just because you chose to ride with the Nutroots. Nutroots? Nah, I much prefer the term Barking-Pinko-Hippie-Moonbats. With Nutroots there is too much chance of accidental confusion with the Wingnuts and their assorted Wingnuttery.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 11:09 AM) I never caught on to that show, but they have an impressive following. They need to get back on the air, they will get the ratings. Brilliant show. Best thing on a broadcast network in years. My wife bought me the DVDs for Father's Day and we just finished rewatching the series which git jerked around way too much by the execs and ended way too early.

QUOTE(rangercal @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 10:48 AM) wtf are you talking about kalapse? A reenactment of an over-the-top early-era Fox news story From an episode of Arrested Development.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jul 31, 2007 -> 10:46 AM) "Would you like some foam in your coffee? It's called a cup-i-kino and wait until you see what it costs." :headbang We just watched Season Three on DVD last week! And whatever happened to the Muffin Man? Remember him? I always pictured a giant six-foot muffin trying to eat me while I was eating him. It's kind of a fantasy I go to a lot now.
