  1. QUOTE(Balance @ Dec 11, 2006 -> 05:37 PM) Here's one of the menu items- That pic cracks me up every time I see it.
  2. QUOTE(Texsox @ Dec 11, 2006 -> 05:34 PM) Bozo circus, now that was a scary place. Let's just start with the relay race where boys had to put on dresses and heels and run. My kid brother was selected to be in the cardboard box relay race the one and only time we were in the studio audience for a Bozo taping. This was a relay race variant where each kid had two boxes and had to step out of one box and into the other, then reach around and grab the first box, put it in front of them and repeat until they made it to the otther side. Well, my bro's team had it in the bag, ahead by half a lap, and there were some killer take-home prizes at stake (including Silly Putty, I'm sure). Then – and no disrespect to your fine organization, Tex – this kid on my bro's team in full Cub Scout uniform, stops at the turn-around of his lap, and takes 10 seconds to reach deep in there and pull the underwear out of his arse before finishing, costing them the race and that sweet, sweet Silly Putty.
  3. QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 11, 2006 -> 04:45 PM) Agree on Ray Raynor. I always associated these two clips with Garfield Goose, instead of Ray Raynor. A tip of the hat to Frazier Thomas as well. I think of those as belonging to the Garfield Goose set of memories as well. Back when there was just Frazier Thomas with his his cool jacket with the medals and epauletts. Before he took over the Bozo ringmester gig from that scary, scary Ringmaster Ned. Ringmaster Ned scared the cr@p out of me. So. . . what about these guys?? V V V V
  4. QUOTE(EvilMonkey @ Dec 11, 2006 -> 01:50 PM) And while that OPINION may be true, it does not belong in the news, from a REPORTER. I agree with that.
  5. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Dec 11, 2006 -> 12:22 PM) Would you believe that the Bandito was a Tex Avery creation? One of his last. Jessica Rabbit should be everybodies generation. Greatest female cartoon creation ever. Followed only by Red from the Tex Avery toons. Wow. I had no Idea the Bandito was Avery. And one of the great things about Roger Rabbit in general is all the Avery homages in there.
  6. I also read that erectile dysfunction was am increasing problem for Indian men. So now I'll never be able to watch the Simpsons and hear Apu say, 'Here, have a squishy' in exactly the same way.
  7. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 10, 2006 -> 07:00 PM) That's B1 and B2 getting it down, FWIW. To tell the truth, an Aussie friend had to tell me those were in fact Bananas in Pajamas, because to me they kind of look like Prophylactics in Prison Clothes. Which, I agree, would have been inappropriately targeted to the age demographic the show was shooting for.
  8. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Dec 10, 2006 -> 06:15 PM) Steve Irwin on every channel would be ok, no? Or Bananas in Pajamas!
  9. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Dec 10, 2006 -> 05:50 PM) Ah yes, Winnie was HAWT as a kid growing up I have to say (apologies in advance if this is going to turn into one of those threads were everyone says who you had a crush one in your early years). I'll chime in on behalf of those oldtimers Tex and YAS, and say that back in the day they'd have been all over Wilma Flintstone and Betty Rubble.
  10. This was the number one item on both my kids lists. My video game system expertise peaked right around the days of Intellivision, so I'm out of my realm. Any insights from folks more up to speed would be helpful. They are 7 and almost 9 years old, and they do have a PS2 console system. Santa will NOT be dropping a huge wad of cash on any next generation console systems, but he may relent and leave one or two of these if the reviews are favorable. Are there a good number of games for that age range between the DS games and the legacy gameboy Advance games? Is the wi-fi plug and play? I already have a IEEE 802.11 network at home so are these things good to go out of the box? If they each get their own unit (ouch!), would they also need to have duplicate game cards to play wirelessly against one another or can the machines read card data from each other? How rugged are they? Any other thoughts? Many thanks . . . slackers!
  11. crazy cool. if each one is a custom commission, i don't even want to know the price. Plus, after you ro0tate it, how long before Pinhead shows up?
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Dec 9, 2006 -> 01:08 PM) Whatever dude. if I played for another team I would still always wear my sox stuff, and I would always be a sox fan. That about sums it up. Anybody who thinks MB should hide loyalty to his home team because the Sox pay his salary has not got a whole lot of understanding about growing up a fan with home team loyalty.
  13. OK, you can lend me the gear and you can be roadie.
  14. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Dec 9, 2006 -> 09:49 AM) can I play bass? I don't know, can you? I think I need you and Gleason to audition.
  15. QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 9, 2006 -> 09:59 AM) What ever happened to Hardrock, Coco and Joe? And Susie Snowflake! Here you go:
  16. I don't want to be a Solid Gold Dancer anymore. Now I want to form a rock and roll band called "Perry Helion and the Three-Million Mile Wobbles." Sort of in the Bill Haley and the Comets vein I guess. Not too geeky, right? Just. . . geeky enough?
  17. QUOTE(Rex Kicka** @ Dec 8, 2006 -> 03:21 PM) I've made a decision. This "election" is poisoning the atmosphere in the Filibuster. . . "Captain, the irony sensors are registering off the charts!"
  18. QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Dec 8, 2006 -> 08:44 PM) It's in the cereal aisle right next to boo-berry and count chocula. I just bought some last week. Yes, but where is the Fruit Brute?? With the Howling good taste of FROOOOT!!! Old Timers back me up here. There was a 4th branc in the General Mills Monster cereal lines, it was Fruit Brute, and the mascot was a werewolf. There was also one called Yummy Mummy that came out a lot later. No Joke I've been accused of making up multi-year stretches of false memories when I bring up things like this but it is true.
  19. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Dec 8, 2006 -> 11:49 AM) So today is technically the last day of my 5 weeks of training. If anyone needs a loan or open an account I'm you're man. if anyone needs a back rub and a happy ending, see any one of the jims I was always taught to lend a helping hand.
  20. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 8, 2006 -> 09:09 AM) Thing is, the competition is fun, but it was never about that. I just wanted to give a forum for real political debate. Apparently, that was not everyone else's motivation. Politics shmolitics. You old dinosaurs get so hung up on you 'facts' and the 'issues' and 'meainingful dialog' . . . BORING!! And I, for one, welcome our new teenage insect overlords.
  21. Wow, what a come from behind upset if the kid pulls it out. Is this board running on Deibold software??
  22. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 7, 2006 -> 03:54 PM) I've never heard that before. But thanks for the wishes everyone, they really did put a smile on my face. I share a B-Day with Noam Chomsky???? That you do. Here's t5i two cunning linguists!
  23. QUOTE(YASNY @ Dec 7, 2006 -> 10:07 AM) Next time someone begins to criticize how we ended the war, I hope they at least give a thought to how it started. God bless the greatest generation. I'm sure most everybody does, even those critical of our ultimate retaliation. And you are right. Hands down, the greatest generation.
