    Six Feet Under

Great show, and I think it's held up much better in the later seasons than Sopranos did. The writing had become complete formula in Sopranos, but if you pack in enough of the good stuff (violence, f-boms, and sex) then sometimes it goes unnoticed. They also still care enough about the show not to get hung up over contract disputes and make fans wait almost two years for the next season. I may not even bother with the last Sopramos season when it finally comes around. The only good thing about Six Feet Under ending is that it means new Curb Your Enthusiasms are right around the corner.
  4. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 10:21 AM) Shonen Knife? Love the Knife. They're kind of like Pink Lady gone bad.
  5. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 8, 2005 -> 09:34 AM) I'll go along with The Runaways. If we can pick solo performers, then for me, there is NO equal to SUZI QUATRO!!! You mean Leather Tuscadaro, right?
  6. QUOTE(ChiSoxFan @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 11:41 PM) He was definitely the best anchor of the Big 3. It's a shame he died so soon. R.I.P. Mr. Jennings. He was definately head and shoulders above the others. Peter

  8. QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 09:31 PM) I actually enjoyed the movie. It had some really funny stuff in there. The music was also pretty dang good. Plus, Josie was pretty dang cute in that movie. Yeah, the 'your brain on drugs' commercial girl. She's a tall drink of water.
  9. Josie and the Pussycats? (cartoon version of course)
  10. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 7, 2005 -> 01:01 PM) Good plan. How about Brits who commit hate crimes against Muslims at random? I'd call that extremism. Where do you deport them to? The US military? I Kid Because I Care

  15. QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 6, 2005 -> 02:51 PM) It might have ended differently if she hadn't been playing the Stones album, Out of Our Heads, Side 2 Song 1* *IIRC if not, the trivia joke really, really sucks. Talkin' 'Bout You bu Chuck Berry?? Oh, I forgot, MY version of the LP is the awesome UK release that doesn't start the side woith Satisfaction. Actually, satisfaction is not on the UK version at all.

  19. And kudos to France for actually expelling two extremist Muslim prayer leaders since last month's attacks. NUKE forgot to give props to France, and I'm completely shocked!
  20. QUOTE(winodj @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 11:32 PM) I think that was a given though. They had to continue the story and it just got sooo complex that it was very difficult to keep all the threads coming together in every episode. I dunno. I just got done rewatching all 4 of them and I thought they were as good as season 1. "Afternoon Delight. but how shall I get it in her. Maybe I'll put it in her brownie..."
  21. QUOTE(Texsox @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 08:11 PM) I have always seen that song as a lesson in how differently even family members view the same event. I imagine that the girl and Billy Joe were in love and he committed suicide. While the rest of the family barely noticed, she was in pain and mourned him a year later. In a turnabout, she views the death of her father and her mom's lack of coping the same way they treated her boyfriend's suicide. Kind of a "Cat's in the Cradle" lesson. I always thought the girl had Billy Joe whacked.
  22. It's taking all of my dignity and decorum to not let loose with the patently offensive "First he nailed her.. then he hammered her!" joke. See how adult I can be.
  23. I said it before and I'll say it again. The guy marrying this nut needs to get seriously beaten with a big f***ing clue bat.
  24. QUOTE(winodj @ Aug 5, 2005 -> 01:34 PM) The guy doesn't bother me. The stonewalling on behalf of his nomination does. There's still a lot I don't agree with as far as his personal politics, but I can't say that should keep him off SCOTUS. That said, I don't like his track record while he was Starr's deputy Solicitor general: Also, today's The Note confirmed that his work on Romer vs. Evans, ike all pro bono work at the firm he worked for, was entirely voluntary and he didn't have to work on the case if he didn't want to. From the firm's partner who ran the pro bono program:
