  1. Add in poor Gilda for the dead SNL trifecta.
  2. Eh, for me it comes down to preferring the tableaux gag over the running gag . . Pete Schwetty's balls were really not on the menu but the running gags were enjoyable if easy. On the other hand, dicks really were in boxes which is an odd place for them to be uless you're Mickey Rourke trying to get Carol Heathrow to fall for the ol' pecker in the popcorn bit. Schwetty Balls is funny double entendre, but dick in a box is high concept. Sez I.
  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 18, 2009 -> 08:38 AM) I think Schwety Balls made a better SNL skit than Dick in a Box. Have to disagree although I like them both.
  4. I found an overlooked 6-pack of Bell's Hopslam on a beer shop shelf yesterday. A Christmas Miracle!! Mmmm hoppy.
  5. Jewish kids camp sounds like a worthwhile thing to donate to if the group was up front about it and didn't hide it in the fine print.
  6. On the money on Dave Gregory. Andy's self-imposed exile from recording during his record contract squabble left him out in the cold. I love the Apple Venus albums, and I think it's some of their best writing ever, but Dave's arranging and multi-instrumental wizardry could have taken them to teh next level.
  7. QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Dec 17, 2009 -> 10:08 AM) Tough to forget about Oranges and Lemons. Great stuff. Simpleton put that album over for the masses, but there is not a bad track on it. Nonsuch was less immediately accessible but it eventually became my preferred album. And AV2 Wasp Star. . . Gawd how amazing would that one be if Dave was still in the band.
  8. Ugh, you break my heart. Andy Partridge, Colin Moulding, and their coterie are the best thing to come out of England since the British Invasion.
  9. xtc the most triumphant band and XTC the bulls*** teenybopper psychoactive drug are two very different things that should not be confused with one another.
  10. Twenty years from now, there had better be a Nickelback tribute band named either Suckledick or Craplesack or else I'll be pissed.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 16, 2009 -> 10:20 PM) Curry sucks. Eddy that is. Born in Harvey and went to school in South Holland, the suck notwithstanding.
  12. Dadgummit, my curry was mild and entirely unchallenging. Either the restaurant botched my order or else they gave it away to someone else who is probably a wimpering fetal ball right now.
  13. Going to eat some ridiculously hot Panang curry this evening. Not sure what that makes me, other than maybe a masochist.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 16, 2009 -> 09:03 PM) Thats too bad. I think he makes a great villain. He was a pretty awesome Anti-hero in Sin City Agreed, Rourke makes a fine villain. See Johnny Handsome, among others, as proof.
  15. QUOTE (Sox72 @ Dec 16, 2009 -> 07:12 PM) My contention is that Tom Hanks won in the end. Denzel finally accepted him. What greater victory than that? Living??
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 16, 2009 -> 03:02 PM) Oh, what is questionable about Philadelphia? Is is that "brotherly love"? Nyswaner wrote, Demme directed, and Hanks and Denzel starred in a very poignant film that peripherally was about that, yes.
  17. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Dec 16, 2009 -> 02:38 PM) Questionable yes, but not rare. Philadelphia, anyone?
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 16, 2009 -> 09:54 AM) Usually the volcano wins. Tom Hanks begs to differ, despite Abe Vigoda's best efforts.
  19. Volcano should have kicked Joe's ass, imho.
  20. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Dec 15, 2009 -> 10:11 AM) I know a few gingers, I suppose they're ok people. They do the best they can despite being born without souls.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 14, 2009 -> 03:29 PM) You are always late! Well, actually I'm the one who leaves his late posts up for all to enjoy rather than doing the sneaky-delete before anyone notices. Plus, I'm old and feeble.
