Sandberg's alright in my book; he's one of the only national commentators I can think of that has really been in the White Sox corner all season. He didn't sensationalize the slump (viz., as some sort of monumental "collapse"), and has had nothing but praise for our starting pitching and Ozzie. That said, it'll be a cold day in hell before I start cheering for the Cubs. Hell, since the Expos are gone, there's no reason for me to even acknowledge their existence.

Absolutely terrified when Garland and Count kept coming out, but they held it down. Him standing back, acknowledging the fans, and letting his players enjoy the moment brought tears to my eyes. Hope he keeps his word and has to retire in another 2 weeks.

My 4: Buehrle - Absolutely amazing outing that got the Sox back on track. Uribe - So many great defensive plays that shut down any potential rallys. Konerko - Almost got another tonight. Crede - CLUTCH. This TEAM was amazing though. Even when someone struggled, the team was able to absorb it.

Been lurking all season, but couldn't stop myself from registering after this. Absolutely amazing defense this entire series; that's as big of a story as the starting pitching. That said, I'm thrilled that Buehrle, Garland, Count, and Garcia have been playing so well; I'll take Buehrle vs. Clemens and Garland vs. Pettitte, please. Pretty sad that Yahoo is using a miscaptioned ALDS picture on their MLB site after this.
