QUOTE (The Critic @ Apr 3, 2010 -> 09:38 AM) Chelsea beats Manchester Unbearable 2-1! Either result would have hurt my Gunners, but I can't stand the NYY of football so I'll accept a Chelsea win. The linesman really f***ed up that second goal.

No wonder why Brian Anderson could never hit...

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 2, 2010 -> 04:08 PM) Singleton wasn't really a big name. He had a couple solid seasons and played good defense. He did spend a short time with the Yankees. If he can make it, I'd have to think a guy like Anderson would have a shot if he wanted to do that. There is no comparing the career's of Singleton and Anderson. Singleton atleast played a lot and his numbers blow BA's out of the water. -

The real April Fools will be on BA when he realizes he's Brian Anderson and no one really cares. -
QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Apr 1, 2010 -> 01:45 AM) If you're the UFC, what do you throw to KenFlo next? Do you give him Maynard & potentially kill of a contender for BJ? Or do you give him a rematch against Diego. But IIRC, Diego was sent back to 170 after the beatdown he got. There are also murmurs of Nelson/JDS. Either way it was an entertaining night of fights. I would only to make an interesting fight. There is no one at 155 that is within a light year of touching BJ right now. BJ needs to go to 170 just so his talent isnt wasted right now. I wouldnt give him GSP but there are others that would make for some interesting matchups like Fitch or Alves. But if Penn did go to 170 and Florian or Maynard won the 155 belt, would anyone even accept them as a champ? I really dont think I would.

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Mar 30, 2010 -> 01:40 PM) Are you missing a few words in that question or has Heads been giving me booze? Anyways, I think you are talking about Jimbo, and I haven't seen him around. wow, I just read my post again. I must have been out of it or something. -
Sounds like a team who believed their press clippings at the start of the season and is now pressing since they started out slow. They will probably start clicking any game now and go on a run.

Has any regular poster come back here since their team was eliminated? -
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Mar 29, 2010 -> 01:38 PM) Fullerton won 2 of 3 and is now 12-11 on the season. ugggh, I hope they got rolling. Is CSF young or just hitting a bad spot right now?

QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Mar 28, 2010 -> 04:27 PM) GSP = Not boring, Fitch is the boring one. I agree he seems a bit more tentative to wanna stand & trade which shows that he may be a bit suspect on his feet. With Mir he just won't be able to compete with Lesnar or Carwin it seems. They've shown the key to beat Mir is by pinning him against the cage & going to work. I still think he's #3 in the UFC. I don't think Cain or Dos Santos will be able to do that to him, at least like Lesnar or Carwin can. Also, How long was Mirgliotta gonna let Mir get hit? Fitch may be #2 at 170. But he's boring as all f***. I wouldn't give him a shot unless they throw him the winner of Semtex/Kos. Fitch shouldnt be on main card PPVs. He is the most boring fighter in the UFC. I love how Rogan and Goldberg spin it and says he's a "grinder". GSP isnt on Fitch's level of boring. If it wasnt for BJ's corner stopping the fight, GSP would be on a 4 fight decision streak. Yes he's dominated everyone but he never punishes anyone anymore. I dont want to say he fights scared but he is very cautious, which is why I would be shocked if he ever agreed to fight Anderson. I dont know whats next for GSP at 170 but it better not be Fitch. That fight will suck. Let Koscheck get a crack and maybe Almedia afterwards and then move to 185 if Silva goes to 205. There just isnt anything left at 170 that is remotely interesting at this time.

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 28, 2010 -> 06:27 PM) I like West Virginia right now out of the last 5 teams. I have WVU winning it all but that Duke game should be good. First one to 60 might win it.

QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 28, 2010 -> 06:22 PM) I was in college screaming at my TV because I had Kentucky going all the way in the dorm's cash bracket contest. haha I had to go back to the garage to tell my dad Duke won and he was like "what?? You said Kentucky won!" Of course I had to re-enact the play for him.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Mar 28, 2010 -> 11:54 AM) Butler or Tennessee is going to win this whole damn thing. You would think people would stop writing off an Izzo coached team. So many people had Ohio St or Tennessee just walking into the Final Four at the beginning of the week.
-
Cant believe Duke-Kentucky was 18 years ago today. I was 9 and I remember running to the garage to tell my dad that Kentucky had won.

QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 28, 2010 -> 05:05 PM) How many major conference schools will want to nab this guy, huh? Isnt he like 33? He's in a position that he can pick and choose his next spot. I wouldnt go anywhere if I was him unless its a program that is a national title threat. Maybe sit tight and try for that UCONN job in a year or two when Calhoun retires.
-
Nothing like blowing a 6-1 lead with 2 outs and no one on in the bottom of the 9th last night to lose 7-6 in extra innings haha. Only in college baseball... Luckily Miami came back to win 4-0 today at NCST.

Izzo does it again.

QUOTE (knightni @ Mar 28, 2010 -> 04:32 PM) Baylor is an amazing story. Scott Drew should get coach of the year easily for the job he's done there after the murder scandal. Sad story but that was 7+ years ago. COY has to go to the Butler coach.

Wood's 20 K's vs Buehrle's perfect game
zenryan replied to Jordan4life_2007's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Gotta go with Wood and his 20k's. Wood single-handily did everything to accomplish that feat while Buehrle still had to rely on his teammates to get his perfect game. Plus there's a lot of luck in throwing a perfect game. -
Quick thoughts I loved how Mir got his ass kicked again. Suicide watch time for him. Carwin and Lesnar is going to be MEGA HUGE. I dont see Mir competing with the likes of Lesnar,Carwin,Cain and JDS. I was hoping Lesnar would get in a Mur blast while on the mic but that didnt happen. GSP another dominant but boring win. Yes he almost subbed Hardy twice but to be in that dominant position and not hurt Hardy at all is pathetic. GSP is becoming more boring every fight he's in since Serra KOed him.

Cousins is about to explode on someone. WVU needs to go right at him and draw that 4th foul.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 27, 2010 -> 07:58 PM) And Kentucky can't hit anything outside of the lane. Weird game. South Florida played 2 Big East conference tournament games this year and made only 1 jump shot. Amazing how bad of shooters these kids can be.
-
QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Mar 27, 2010 -> 07:32 PM) WVU getting hosed at every opportunity so far. Maybe but when you dont make 1 shot from 2pt land its hard to complain about anything. I've never seen a team not make a 2 point shot in an entire half.
-
Up until the last minute, Purdue has shot more FTs than Duke. If you want to beat Duke, you better have the lead in the final minutes because Duke does not miss FTs. No chance in coming back against them if you make it a FT shooting contest.

QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Mar 26, 2010 -> 11:21 PM) No doubt. Thank god for MMOD so I can watch the other game on the comp cause Chicago TV is stuck on this one Brighthouse Florida has been showing 2 games per time slot for the entire tournament so far. The BH sticks it on one of their other bh owned stations. I wonder how many other cable companies are doing this.

QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 26, 2010 -> 09:12 PM) Wow, in real time, thought Turner got fouled, but was all ball. Turner walks off without shaking hands. When I heard the whistle I thought there was a foul. All ball on the replay.
