Official Recruiting Thread II

QUOTE (farmteam @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 12:39 AM) I was two hotels down from there a week or two before this happened. It's definitely a tragedy, but quite frankly, I'm surprised this kind of thing doesn't happen more often down there. That place is absolutely insane during spring break. It does happen often but usually not "national" news. -
QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 06:52 PM) Marc Bulger released from the Rams. Do the Bears dare to go after him? I hope this means the Rams go the QB route with the second pick. I'd love for the Bucs to take McCoy from Oklahoma with the third pick. He'd be my number 1 pick and to get him at 3 would be awesome.

QUOTE (DBAHO @ Apr 8, 2010 -> 03:18 AM) Sportscenter whenever Linda Kohn or Chris Berman is on hands down. Linda Kohn is ok in my book from a comment she made on a 2am SC last summer. I think my friend and I were the only person who caught her "joke". As SC was going to commercial, Kohn was giving a preview of the upcoming highlights and it involved the Houston Rockets. Well she said something like, "And when we come back, we'll see how Yao Ming and the Houston Wokets...." It was great.

Our lefthanded hitters are hitting an amazing 2-26 so far. Lefties not named AJ are hitting an amazing 0-18. -

I cant believe Kotsay is a number 5 hitter for an AL team. -

It's going to be fun watching Pierre slap ground balls around the infield this year. -
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Apr 6, 2010 -> 10:57 AM) Yes, Fullerton opened up BigWest play with a sweep. They put up 20+ in 2 of the 3 games and climbed to a season high 4 games over .500. WHOOOO. Maybe they've woken up. Big win at UCLA last night. I'm so pissed at myself because my sportsbook offers select college lines at CSF was +240 last night. I wanted to pull the trigger since UCLA just had their unbeaten streak snapped and thought this game was a huge game for CSF. Two good teams plus midweek starters make it a coin flip. Wish I had bigger nuts haha.

I'll take any of those ESPN shows over anything sports show on Versus.

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 09:31 PM) Bet a buddy $20 that Duke rolls. Gave him Butler and 7 points. I feel very confident. I like that bet. I think Duke wins by double digits.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 04:35 PM) Justin Heyward just hit a three-run bomb in hist first major league at-bat! His parents reaction was awesome.
-
lol@ Big Z Awesome to see Heyward go deep on first AB.

Sky Sports is funny. I remember watching their sports show one afternoon on Fox Soccer during WCQ and they had some guy watching the Ireland game on his teleprompter and giving updates on what he was seeing. Then they would go to some other story and you'd hear the guy in the background going "ohhhh" or "ahhhhh".

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Apr 5, 2010 -> 02:57 PM) For some reason, when Paulie walked and Hawk said "bases loaded for Kotsay" I went..."Awww s***" haha, me too. -
QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 04:44 PM) i get what you're saying. i was like that at first with chelsea but i found out of these pubs by my house that broadcast premier league games and ive started going there every gameday in my chelsea shirt and talk smack to all the gooners lol. makes it a lot more personal. Going to the pubs are fun as hell. Being in Orlando, there are so many tourist pubs so I went to watch an England vs Paraguay game last WC and it was nuts. Standing room only and everyone wearing their England shirt. I'll probably go back but not for the USA-England match this summer.

QUOTE (OsweGo-Go Sox @ Apr 4, 2010 -> 12:38 PM) Pretty much all of you support the Yankees/Red Sox of football... Come on you Spurs! I'll root for MU because the Glazers own the Bucs who are my favorite NFL team. But if they lose I'm affected as much as if I hear the Rockies lost a baseball game. Cant really get too excited or upset when I might watch a game once a month involving MU. But I do look at the box scores every night when there's a game to see how the teams that have Americans did.

I hope Duke just rolls Butler. Something like last year's national title.
-
That was a horrible second half of basketball. 17 points in the final 10 minutes combined. Michigan St missed more layups and had more turnovers in the final 10 minutes than shots made. Butler made only 1 field goal in the final 13 minutes. I believe the teams went a combined 3-22 shooting to close out the game. Nothing entertaining about this game at all.

QUOTE (The Critic @ Apr 3, 2010 -> 12:08 PM) True, but Unlikable's goal could have been called a hand ball, so that's even. Still 1-0 Chelsea. Maybe, maybe not but it was nowhere near as obvious as the Chelsea goal.

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Apr 1, 2010 -> 03:13 PM) I love 24, but it's easy to see they have run the gambit on different types of terrorists attacks. Excited for the movie however. Being a Seinfeld fan, I would put Kramer in the top ten. Although Seinfeld was so great b/c of writing and character cohesion, Kramer to me still made that show. Kramer was great but George made it for me.
-
I watched the first 5 episodes this year and gave up on it. Then I heard last week that 24 is ending so last night I watched 6 straight episodes and I'm hooked again. I'll probably start ep 12 sometime today since I've been up over 24 hours and I'm ready for a nap.
