  1. QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ May 24, 2007 -> 12:46 PM) I don't think it was as cut and dry as this. (a) it's a big country. we found bunkers we didn't know saddam had after we invaded. just because a group of 20 inspectors goes in and looks around doesn't mean they checked every possible place (B) they were never given enough time to complete the job. if i recall correctly saddam waited a long time before he let them in, and when he did he didn't cooperate fully. also the inspectors DID find weapons that were banned after the Gulf War the he said he got rid of but obviously didn't. The left can try to spin this all they want, but the fact was the majority of the world thought he had them. The best intelligence available said he had them. If you want to debate that the Bush admn tried to sell the war on shaky intelligence (my favorite was the mobile missile systems on semi-trucks), ok fine. But the evidence did exist and it was believed by the majority of the international intelligence community at the time. It wasn't fabricated like so many people think. A majority of the world believed there were WMD's stockpiled of some sort. A majority of the world did not subscribe to many of the statements the administration made to exaggerate the threat of Iraq. That is one of many reasons there was such a tremendous discrepancy between the contributions of allies in the first Gulf War and this one. The best intelligence also cast serious doubt on central claims paraded by Bush in the State of the Union and Powell to the UN.

  3. QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 24, 2007 -> 10:17 AM) Dont listen to them heads, I went to college at 135 pounds and quickly put on 30 lbs of muscle and topped out at 215 at one point. IM now a healthy 185. Im training for the half marathon. You are probably running too many days a week. I make my long run on sunday and rest mon, wed and sat. On those days I do lots of free weight and core training. Core training is a must to strengthen your back and abs. I'm going by the Hal Higdon and CARA program. Short runs Tues/Wed/Thurs with Weds progressively becoming a longer run. Saturday is the long run day.
  4. Yeah so I'm training for the marathon which means I'm running 4 days a week and doing an hour of cardio on Sundays. Obviously I'm not going to be bulking up as well, but anyone know what type of routine I should be doing to add more overall tone?

    The Sopranos

QUOTE(Brian @ May 22, 2007 -> 11:10 AM) I also wouldn't be surprised if that is the last we see of AJ. Kind of like Uncle Junior, the last time we see him was sitting comotosed in a old people's home. Who knows. They show him falling down in a ditch or something like that while getting chased in the previews of the remaining episodes. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 22, 2007 -> 09:05 AM) Finally the one foreshadow that I didn't see anyone mention was the very end where Tony and AJ walk into the light together... Walking into the light, while both dressed in black.
  6. Ozzie's an embarrasment. I'm tired of this sh*t. Only he could make Mike North look like a genius. And only he would think Masset is best starter for Sunday. F*ck. This weekend sucks to be a Sox fan.
  7. Ozzie's an embarrasment. I'm tired of this s***.
  8. QUOTE(NorthSideSox72 @ May 18, 2007 -> 11:15 AM) So far, you've labeled me as a moron, retarded, and that I deserved to be punched. And I am not the only one who sees it this way. Not makin' a lot of friends. Well put, both of you. Well, I'm sure you might be able to walk without drooling, but you really think the White Sox, as in the team, not the fans, biggest rival is the Cubs?
  9. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 18, 2007 -> 11:10 AM) I understand that, but it's the FANS that are doing the voting. That just might have something to do with it. Right, but that's my point. Fans are retarded.
  10. QUOTE(YASNY @ May 18, 2007 -> 11:04 AM) You nailed it when you capitalized the word FANS. That's what this is all about. Sox FANS biggest rivals are Cub FANS because of the constant antagonism between the two groups in the area. The teams certainly don't consider each other as the biggest rivals, because from a successful season perspective, these games aren't all that important. The FANS make it a rivalry. The players enjoy the atmosphere generated by the FANS, but that's as far as it goes. The question is worded like this...
  11. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ May 18, 2007 -> 10:39 AM) Please prove that everyone, specifically the 37% you mentioned, who voted are indeed Sox fans. What makes you think a Cub fan didn't go there to spike the poll just to say "ZOMG, look how obsessed Sox fans are!"? I could go to their page right now and vote for Marshall to be the fifth starter. It's nearly 40% of those who voted. Yeah there's probably a couple Cubs fans who voted, but let's be honest with ourselves. There's a large contingent of Sox fans who still give a s*** about the cubs for some reason. Yeah, these intercity games are fun, but if you're going to name our biggest rival, its the team who has passed us by (and in some cases run over us) in August/September almost every year in this decade.
  12. If you go to chisox.com there is a poll asking who our biggest rival is. The leader, with 37%, is the friggin Cubs. Anyone who thinks the Cubs, an NL team we play 6 times a year, are our biggest rival deserves to be sucker punched by Michael Barret, then body slammed by AJ.
  13. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 16, 2007 -> 06:40 PM) Yeah, but we went through that here in detail a year ago, and I'm too lazy to go find the bloody threads. Armed Guards are more exciting anyway. Yeah, that testimony does add further confirmation of the law breaking, for those that care about that sort of thing.

    Wilco fans??

QUOTE(watchtower41 @ May 16, 2007 -> 10:32 AM) I will say this though... "Impossible Germany" is one of the best sogns Wilco has ever done. Everything from the heavenly intro, to the subtle lyrics, to Nels' mesmorizing guitar solo..... amazing tune. Definately. That was the first song that really grabbed me on first listen.
  15. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 16, 2007 -> 12:50 PM) So, for anyone who missed it, there was a remarkable bit of testimony up on capitol hill yesterday. One of the former folks in the Justice Dept. who the AG is trying to blame for the US attorneys scandal told a story about how the Administration tried to sneak an approval for their warrantless spying program. Basically, James Comey, the guy in question, wouldn't give his approval, and he was in charge while Mr. Ashcroft was drugged up for surgery. So basically, the administration decides to try to bypass him, and see if they can't convince a drugged up Ashcroft to sign off on the program despite his refusal to do so previously. So basically you have a situation where there are armed FBI guards and Comey in Ashcroft's hospital room trying to keep the Administration from sneaking a signature from a drugged up man to approve an illegal program. There's something bigger in that story, regarding the legality of the NSA program to begin with.

    Wilco fans??

I like it so far. Nels sound really dominates the album, which works out for me becuase I love his playing and the sound he uses. Very clean and bright, and contrasts well with Tweedy's voice.
  17. QUOTE(BigSqwert @ May 15, 2007 -> 09:03 AM) The rest no way??? Anyone who'd take Paulie over D Lee is on crack or needs to put the kool aid down. That's what I was thinking.
  18. QUOTE(kapkomet @ May 15, 2007 -> 10:59 AM) I hate to break it to you but Chelsea at the same age did the same stuff that the Bush twins did (during her Oxford days), so I'm not sure what you're trying to imply. Did she? I don't remember her getting in trouble, but its not something I really care to remember. Anyway, i'm not trying to get into a discussion about who's a better parent, it was just a joke. By the way, what is BDS?
  19. QUOTE(Texsox @ May 15, 2007 -> 08:03 AM) But if I had to leave my kids with Dubya or Slick Willy for a week, I'd rather they be with Dubya. Yeah, I'd rather have my daughter act like the bush twins over chelsea clinton too.
  20. QUOTE(kapkomet @ May 14, 2007 -> 03:37 PM) I can read just fine, thank you. I can also read what's not there. All too often, you act like there's some sort of innocent standard in politics, and it's just not the case. About 99.9% of politics is spin. I don't feel like linking 85 sites (or whatever the # is) about the Clinton spin machine. It's happened, and has ALREADY happened in this campaign. Big deal. Maybe that's where the problem is. For some reason, you've got this kneejerk reaction to add whatever you think I want to say and respond to that. I'd prefer if you deal with what I say, unless the point is to avoid having a real conversation. If that's the case, I'll stick to talking about why Greg Walker needs to be fired and avoid political conversations here all together. Again, all I'm asking for is proof of the claims you guys are making here. I'm not asking for 85 sites about the Clinton smear machine (which is different than a spin machine). I'm asking for any legitimate evidence you guys have.
  21. QUOTE(kapkomet @ May 14, 2007 -> 01:50 PM) That's laughable. How DARE anyone say ANYTHING bad about the Clintons? All I'll say is, where there's smoke, there's fire, and in this case, a raging inferno. You have terrible reading comprehension, and resort to s***ty sarcasm way too often. All I'm asking for is the evidence behind these claims you guys throw around like fact. Apparently I'm asking too much.
  22. I find some of the commetns here hilarious. You've bought into these absurd caricatures of these people absent any real evidence. What proof is there, exactly, of this ruthless Clinton smear machine? How, exactly, did Obama become "deceitful"? How has he pandered?
  23. QUOTE(RME JICO @ May 13, 2007 -> 06:59 PM) Marquis and Zambrano are both righties, and Lilly and Marquis are both pitching way under their career averages, so they are due for a correction. Zambrano has allowed 4+ runs in 5 of 8 starts, so he is not the same guy from last year. Buehrle - Lilly Vazquez - Marquis Danks - Zambrano Sox sweep. Right, they're due for a correction, and its going to occur against the worst offense in the AL. The team with the .220 batting average? It's possible Marquis walks in 4 or 5 runs so we can give our pitchers a chance, but not very likely.
