QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Sep 8, 2006 -> 08:39 AM) Kinky doesn't want 1500 border patrol troops, he wants 10,000 Texas national guard troops guarding the border hands down, if this is true, i would vote for him if I were in TX i say this despite his desire to legalize reefer, which i believe will cost him a lot of votes

World has tapped just 18 percent of global oil supplies, Saudi executive says

you are right, AirAmerica always seemed doomed from the start. I kept hearing about a few rouge stations that would syndicate a program or two out west somewhere. I never got a chance to hear a single show.

im not saying its aliens, but hey, we can speculate, its fun right?

im sure it was an al qaida "offshoot" that staged the attack. much kudos to the syrian security forces for preventing the attack.

http://www.king5.com/localnews/stories/NW_...C.8ea7852f.html to the right of the article is a link to watch the newscast that shows the actual footage. the explanation from the FAA that "the sun was at just the right angle before sunset to reflect off the jet and create the illusion of smoke and fire" makes it that much more suspicious.

CIA: 5,000 Terrorists Captured or Killed does this belong in this thread? it seemed to fit here best at first glance and i dont have time to make sure because i'm at work. but i think the above article is worth noting.

" Tortured screams ring out as Iraqis take over Abu Ghraib "
samclemens replied to samclemens's topic in The Filibuster
I thought mugs on you all's side might have a pleasant outlook on this, since this is a withdrawl. seriously, you all dont consider this progress? -
http://apnews.myway.com/article/20060910/D8K1U4U80.html Though he qualified his statement by calling it "unlikely", Gore says he hasnt ruled out running again. Personally, I hope he runs- its a guarenteed GOP victory. Do dems here think it would be a disaster? would dems here vote for him?

lets call this what it is: pandering. im glad we are trying them, but I think its a huge mistake to give them geneva convention rights. i guess hes just doing what he has to do, so though im uncomfortable with parts of this, its not all bad.

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,211679,00.html good...this guy was not fit to rule. i dont care what school of thought you come from, someone convicted of multiple sex acts on a minor deserves just a little more time than 60 days.

Nagin criticizes World Trade Center rebuilding
samclemens replied to Steff's topic in The Filibuster
QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Aug 25, 2006 -> 01:35 PM) people blasting these comments are just Nagin-haters. Plain and simple. He made a good point and a fair comparison. our country is pretty piss poor with disaster relief no matter what the circumstances. and for my 2 cents, we need to stop spending so much money rebuilding and assisting other areas of the world (Iraq, Africa, etc) and spend more of our tax dollars fixing our own problems. and N.O. should be a "chocolate city" too! -
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 24, 2006 -> 01:07 PM) CNN International (report hosted through Raw Story) reports on the unexploded Israeli cluster bombs, which are now turning up all over Lebanon and are injuring people, including children, as they gather up scrap metal to sell. The estimate currently is that there are tens of thousands of those bomblets scattered throughout southern lebanon. *yawn* welcome to bosnia, kosovo, vietnam, etc.

QUOTE(Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 23, 2006 -> 10:39 AM) As little as it seems she still made a poor ethical choice. She should have, at the very least, told the parties involved about it and they could have requested she be replaced. i agree, while it seems a minimal connection to the ACLU, the judge should have disclosed every and all possible conflicts to the parties and let them decide if any want to move to disqualify her. thats out of the canons on judicial conduct.
