  2. Castro was traded to philly for haigwood today.
  3. Anybody know where to find Widgers ERA vs. AJ's? I saw someone post widger's in the game thread and it was around five.
  4. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 03:04 PM) Stay on the f***ing North Side. We don't want you or need you. ^^^^^^
  5. QUOTE(WCSox @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 05:21 PM) The radar gun is off. They said the same thing about his last start... and in that same game, Jenks was supposedly topping out around 91. That f***in radar gun is always off. I thought Hawk said something to the fact that they fixed it? The WGN one is usually off too.
  6. Well, I will be making a trip up to Beloit some time this weekend to get some fireworks. I will probably only spend about $50. I was just wondering if anybody has gotten caught using fireworks, and what are the fines?I have bought them a couple of times, and have never gotten caught. I'm sure I won't get caught, but you never know. I thought they just confiscated them and maybe a small fine, but I'm not sure.
  7. They said on the score today that they wont be expanding the tourney.
  8. QUOTE(klaus kinski @ Jun 29, 2006 -> 02:56 PM) And that bottom of the order is brutal- Uribe has been coming around lately. And BA has hit safely in like 6 of his last 7 games.
  9. Nope. Plus he is scheduled to start the sunday before.
  10. This could be kind of interesting. For me it's the Mets
  11. http://www.jackassmovie.com/movies/trailer.html This looks f***in awesome. I will surely see it the first day it comes out. It will be hard to top the first one, but if the trailer is any indication this one has a chance to do it.
  12. Rockford Royals/Cubbies Beloit Snappers
  13. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jun 27, 2006 -> 12:16 AM) It was a freakin show put on by the manager. He didn't punch anyone. He didn't touch anyone. He just yelled and added a little theatrics. This has nothing to do with "character". Hell, when Wally had his outburst, after he was finished, he winked and smiled at Juan Nieves, the pitching coach, on his way into the clubhouse. This is funny to watch, but no big deal folks. What he did is a lot worse than having a maxim magazine in your locker
  14. I thought this was the franchise that wanted to promote character?
  15. http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/draft/news/261750.html Interesting article. He will start the season with Boise of the Northwest league.
  16. http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/prosp...ews/261735.html Can anybody say that they're suprised?
  17. I played from when I was 7 through high school, I haven't played since but I am looking into getting into a non-competitive adult league. Anbody know any in the Rockford area?
  18. I will be attending NIU this fall and have a dumb question for current NIU students. Does the cable in the dorms have comcast sportsnet? I'm sure they do, but I couldn't imagine not being able to watch the Sox for two months of the season
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 06:44 PM) BA cracks me up. Miller looks like he's found his control, but I've yet to see him throw a FB over 91 MPH. His slider is filthy though (got does it have some left to right break to it). Not saying Miller isn't really good, just laughing at how he is "supposed" to throw in the upper 90's. That said I understand velocity is often lower in the CWS because the pitchers are tired and are often worked a little harder than they are used to. The gun could also be a couple ticks off. Miller looks like he's gotten settled in though (had control problems in the 1st). I watched pretty much that whole game, and he was throwing in the mid-90's the first inning or two. He had some control problems, and it looked like his velocity dropped after that.
  20. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Jun 9, 2006 -> 09:52 PM) Chatter was that Longoria and Andrew Miller were a bit wary of this movement and justifiably so. There is nothing wrong with having Christians in the lockerroom who will help out guys who want to be helped. But when you start getting in other player's business who don't want to be involved then there is a SERIOUS problem. Gammons talked about this the day of the draft. I'm suprised there hasn't been much talk of this on ESPN or anything.
  21. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jun 5, 2006 -> 02:33 AM) 10-3, 3 outs to go for the Titans. The call on the fly ball in the 6th (I think) was one of the worst calls I have ever seen.
  22. MOD EDIT: This is the official draft thread for day one of the MLB Draft. Coverage starts at 12 eastern time, with the 1st pick coming in at 1 eastern time. Check out mlb.com for live video coverage or audio of the draft. Looking at who will probably be available tomorrow (of course there are always guys who will fall), who should the Sox take? I am going with Bryan Morris, a pitcher from Motlow St. CC in Tennessee who the D-Rays couldn't sign as a draft and follow. He is BA's #29 prospect.
  23. QUOTE(danman31 @ Jun 4, 2006 -> 03:49 PM) Defending champ Texas is out after a 6-3 loss to NC State. The Longhorns only make it to the final 48 this year. Meanwhile Mizzou beat UCLA 2-1 to move on to the round of the 32 for the first time in a while. They face Pepperdine at 5. It will be interesting to see Mizzou win tonight, because they will probably throw Schezerer tomorrow.
  24. I thought they were gonna wait until after the draft, even though they have probably know who they will take #1.
